5 Chapter 5
"I'm pretty much sure that it was a marvelous play, I knew you'd always do great at anything you do," Alex said on the phone praising Athena when she told Alex about everything you do.
"Thanks, Alex but you've no need to exaggerate," Athena answered with few chuckles,
While talking to Alex, she still can't believe that those two guys, Harith and Steve came to watch. And after Athena and Angelica's performance, they both came to tell them how great they were onstage.
"That was awesome Athena, you should've seen the looks on the judges' faces, I mean, they were all shocked that you are so good, oh, and not to mention our singer friend here, she's awesome as well. I think that you two should be stars." Steve talked the whole time they were walking. But you should see the looks on Harith's face, no, you should see how red as a tomato he is. Inside his mind, while he was watching, Athena, he's somewhat you call 'captivated' but in his head, he's having a battle on how should he feel about it. He actually admitted to himself that he has a crush on Athena, but as much as possible, he's gonna fight until he gets to know her. He was once broken and he doesn't want that to happen again. But her performance, her grace, her beauty, it was all enough to catch his easy heart. But that is a thing that Athena wouldn't know, or at least for now.
She now hanged up on Alex because he also needs to go to school as well. Athena went downstairs for dinner, Carson was there waiting,
"You can eat with me you know," Athena informed her butler, no, her friend.
Carson was only able to wear a warm smile on his face, he sat down and ate with her.
He wasn't smiling because of her kindness alone, but also because Athena reminds him of his deceased daughter. And he's been taking care of Athena for twelve years now. And being able to eat on the same table as Athena makes him feel like a father again.
"Are you having a good throwback in your head about your daughter again?" Athena asked Carson,
"Yes Miss, uhh, Athena. I can see the old and last memory I had with her. We were out for a picnic and she was running around me, playing with the dandelions, and her wonderful voice." He answered Athena wearing a sad face, and for a minute, he forgot that he's a butler, he then had a glimpse of the feeling of being a father again.
They ate in peace and in Carson's heart, he felt family. And he is happy that Athena, his boss is the one to make him feel it again. They continued eating until Athena finished eating. She excused herself, washed her dish, and went upstairs. She went to the bathroom and did all her 'girls' stuff business'. And when she's finished and all dressed up in her pajamas, she looked at her phone and there's a 'missed call' notification. It was from Harith.
She texted Harith who called her twice in a row.
To Harith:
"Hey, sorry I wasn't able to answer, I was having dinner." she texted him and he quickly replied,
From Harith:
"It's ok. Sorry, I wasn't able to tell you a while back that you did amazing, it was just that Steve took all the attention. haha, but hey, you did amazing earlier,"
To Harith:
"Thanks. umm, can I ask you something?"
From Harith:
"Sure Athena, anything,"
To Harith:
"I was wondering if you can teach me to skate,"
Harith was surprised by what she just said that it made his eyes wide, and at the same time, Athen is blushing, scared that he might refuse.
From Harith:
"Sure, when do you wanna start?"
To Harith:
"umm, can you help me first, I want to buy a new skateboard for me to use,"
From Harith:
"Sure, when?"
To Harith:
"Does Friday afternoon sounds ok?"
From Harith:
"No, it's perfect,"
They continued texting and until she felt sleepy. She told him that she's going to sleep and they bid goodnight, but not for Athena, she sent a message first for Alex before sleeping
To Alex:
"Hey, Love, I am now going to sleep and start another day tomorrow, you do well at school ok? And always remember that I love you so much and take care of yourself,"
She then drifted off to sleep and woke up early in the morning and did the same thing she always does in the morning. She'd go for a shower, blow-dry her hair, get dressed, put on her make-up, but today she's leaving her hair wavy, she just combed her hair, put on her perfumed, wore her shoes, and took her bag. She went downstairs for breakfast and went out and drove off to school.
While she was driving, she saw Harith and Steve at the park and so she stopped by and watch.
Harith saw her and came to her direction,
"Goodmorning beautiful," he greeted
"Goodmorning handsome," she replied and they both laughed.
Harith showed her a lot of things about a skateboard and finally, she asked if she could step on it. Harith raised his eyebrows before saying yes. She stepped on it and had a little bit of trouble in her balance, but Harith expected that and so he held her hand, and Athena blushed and was not able to say a thing. They went on and the time went by until Athena checked the time. It's time to go back to school. She told Harith and Steve to get on to her car to go to school. They got on and she drove off to school.
They've arrived at school and went to their first classes. Athena reached her room just the right time and sat beside Angelica and told her everything. Angelica was surprised that Athena is interested in skateboarding. And time went by again until lunchtime came and they went to the cafeteria and they ate with Harith and Steve again. And as always, Steve is always te loud-mouthed creature in the group. But this time Steve is talking to Angelica while Harith and Athena are having a conversation until Steve noticed that, Athena and Harith just told him nothing and Steve put on a frown. Athena and Harith just laughed at him.
