4 Chapter 4

It has been two weeks now and she has been going around Cleveland to at least familiarize the place because she would like to be the one driving herself around, from her house to school, from school to her house. While she's driving near a park, she suddenly hit the brakes when a guy slipped on his skateboard on the road. She stepped out of the car to see if the guy is alright and to her surprise, it was the same guy she met at the bookstore. 

"Are you alright? Are you hurt"  she asked him worriedly,

"Haha, don't worry miss, I'm pretty much sure that I wasn't hit by your car," he answered and he sounded sarcastic, and so Athena just decided to just leave,

"Oh, okay then," she said, 

"Oh, I'm not mad, don't worry. What's your name?"  he asked her,

Athena just turned around and answered, "Athena,"

"Nice to meet you Athena, my name's Harith. Are you new here?" he asked here again 

"Yeah, nice to meet you Harith but I gotta go," she turned around and stepped into the car and drove off.

Her mind is not clear and so she stopped by a 7-eleven store. She bought some of her favorite junk foods and Slurpee. She sat down, and to her surprise, Harith came with his friends and bought some food for themselves. She tried not to be seen but Harith noticed her long blonde hair, he wore a smirk in his face and approached her,

"So this is where you were going?" Harith asked her, still wearing the same smirk.

"Umm, I just stopped by," she answered nervously,

"Hmm, sure. Do you mind if we sit here with you?" he asked worriedly,

Athena looked around and the seats are taken, 

"Sure, not a problem at all," she answered him with a smile.

"So, why are you here in Cleveland?"  Harith asked Athena,

"I'm here for college," she answered

"Oh, which university?" he asked again

"Cleveland State University," she replied

"That's great, I'm entering that university as well," he answered joyfully

But Athena was just smiling, I think it is safe to say that she is shy. But the thing is, she now officially obtained a new friend. And guess what, it is not just Harith but also there is Steven Clark who is Harith's friend too. And now that she has a new friend who enters the same university as she does, she is so excited to enter school which is just one week later.

It is now the first day of school, Athena woke up early and took a shower. After showering, she wore the clothes she prepared for school and faced the mirror, she blow-dried her hair and put it in a loose braid, she put on a light make-up on her face and her perfume around her neck and her wrist. She then wore her favorite necklace given to her by Adam and wore her high-cut converse. She then took her bag and went downstairs for breakfast. As she was going down the stairs she received a message from Alex,

From Alex:

"Hey love, good luck. Make plenty of friends and be happy. Just enjoy your time there. I love you."

 Athena smiled and replied,

To Alex: 

"Thank you, you too. I love you and have a nice day."

She was smiling the whole time she was eating, not until she got a message from Harith,

From Harith:

"Hey Missy, you should hurry now, you might run out of parking space haha."

Athena's eyes widened and she bounced off to school.

To Harith:

"Thanks, see you at school."

She arrived at school and was able to find a parking space. She stepped out of her car and entered. She went to her locker took out her book and went to the bench to read. It was peaceful for her. Then one student was passing out some flyers, she was given one and it was about a music club named "ministère de la musique"  she then remembered that she is a musician herself, and won several contests so she planned to enter that club. She was reading the flyer and Harith and Steve,

"Hey girl, what are you reading there?" Steve asked Athena.

"Some flyers that are passed on to me,"  she answered  

"What's it about?" Harith asked her

"Oh, it's about ministère de la musique, their musical club," she answered

"Are you gonna enter?"  Harith asked again like a kid,

"I plan to" she answered,

"Then go no one's stopin' ya"  Steve exclaimed,

Athena was only able to give them a smile and a nod. She checked the time and it's time for her first class, Athena, Harith and Steve went to their rooms and promised to see each other for lunch.

Meanwhile, Athena was still reading the flyer inside her room and someone just spoke to her,

"Are you interested?"  

Athena raised her head and to her surprise, it is a girl, to describe her, she's an average looking girl, she's wearing a messy bun, she's white and her hair is golden brown, her outfit looks good on her and she is not wearing any make-up. 

"Umm, yes,"  Athena answered her,

"Oh, that's great. My name is Angelica Jones and I also wanted to join that club, do you mind if we go there later to see?"  she asked Athena,

"No, not at all, Athena by the way, Athena Chen,"  she answered her,

"Nice to meet you, by the way, what instrument do you play?"  Angelica asked her,

"I play the violin," she answered

"Oh, I just sing," feeling a little uneasy, Athena felt that Angelica is feeling down for a bit,

"That's cool," she said trying to motivate her, and Angelica gave her a smile and the professor finally entered the room. And so the day one of Athena in the university has started.

The time went by until it went lunchtime, and as promised, Athena, Angelica, Harith, and Stevenson would go for lunch together, they went to the school cafeteria and sat down on a round table, and each bought their meals. And they all talked and ate their food. Harith notice that almost every guy in the area is looking at them, no, looking at Athena. He just ignored it and let it slip.

"So you guys are skaters?" Athena asked both Steve and Harith,

"Yeah we are, we've been skating for eight years now,"  Steve boasted,

"So you guys started at ten?" Athena asked,

"Yes, we were batchmates, if that's what you call it,"  Harith answered,

Athena just nodded. Athena's phone rang and she answered it,

minutes later she hanged up. 

"uhh, who was that?" Angelica asked Athena,

"Oh it was just Carson,"  she answered,

"Your boyfriend?"  Harith asked,

Athena was hesitant if she should tell them the truth that he is her butler or just a friend.

"umm, no, he's just... m-m-my friend," and so she lied,

"He's just going to hand me my violin for the audition later, you're quite lucky Angelica, you only need your voice for your audition later," Athena added,

"Yeah, thanks. That makes me feel good about being just a singer,"  Angelica answered with a smile.

And so the time went by again and they are going to their next class until the dismissal finally came. Athena asked Angelica if she could come with her to see Carson and take her violin. And Angelica said yes. But Athena forgot that she told her friend that Carson was her friend, and the moment that Angelica saw Carson, she got confused. She then asked Athena if he really is just her friend because of his age, looks, and how he called Athena "Miss". And so, Athena was forced to tell Angelica everything while they're on their way to the auditorium.

"So you are from Singapore, and you're not here for college only but also for some business purposes too, is that it?" Angelica asked Athena with the enlightenment in her eyes while they are waiting for Athena's turn,

"Shhh! Yes,"  she hushed Angelica, Angelica was about to ask another question but it was Athena's turn already.

She went to the stage and she saw two guys, judges if you are to call them, and some few more people, and she saw Harith and Stevenson watching and cheering her in silence. 

"Hi, I can see that you play the violin. what are you gonna play?"  one guy asked her

"I'm playing Kreutzer Sonata No.9, Op.4 'Your Lie in April' arrangement," she answered and they called a senior pianist to play with her and she started playing.



And when she finished,

"What is your name? I feel like I've seen you somewhere," one guy asked her

"My name is Athena Xandria Chen," she answered, 

"I knew it! You're the kid who won the 'Spring Gala' this year!" one guy exclaimed and went onstage to shake hands with her. They know hey and obviously she's accepted.

Hey guys... I had to say, I had trouble in choosing the peice she's going to play. I wanted it to be the original arrangement but I can't find a video of it where it is just the peice alone, plus that peice is sooo long like twelve minutes of you life... So I just chose the anime version 😂...
