16 Chapter 16
Athena woke up and saw her brother Adam sitting beside her, watching her sleep. She was startled that she quickly sat down and asked for Harith,
"He's with Sam, in Sam's favorite room," Adam answered her,
She's hearing some melody so she guessed that he's with Sam playing some instruments, Athena excused herself and went to the other room. There she saw Sam and Harith getting along pretty well, Harith is watching Sam play the piano and the moment that Harith saw the door open, he knew that it would be Athena, Sam saw the look on Harith's face when he's hoping that it would be Athena, and yes, it was her. Sam thought of a wonderful idea, he whispered on his ear,
"Why don't you ask her for dance while I play?"
"Do you think it's alright?" Harith asked worriedly,
"Of course," Sam answered with a wink,
Harith then walked towards her with the intention of asking for her hand to take the floor. He reached her and held out his hand, Athena understood that he's asking for her hand. She gave her hand with a curve on her lips and blush on her cheeks, her eyes were focused on his eyes, and so are his. They danced and Sam played, it almost felt endless when Adam entered the room. Adam was furious the moment he saw this, he patted Harith's shoulder with a furious face, Sam saw this and sensed a bad situation, he stood up and tried to distract Adam,
"Well, seems that you want to join the fun, too bad you didn't bring a date with you," Sam tried to say those words in a teasing way just like usual, but it didn't reach Adam, and so Sam's face went serious.
Athena understood the situation, but she was frozen, she wanted to take a step to protect Harith but she can't. Sam saw the look on Athena's face and used this to stop Adam,
"Adam, you're scaring Athena, don't do it," Sam whispered to Adam's ear,
Adam took a glance on Athena, his eyes widened when he saw her scared and her eyes, almost tearing. He let go of Harith and approached her, asking if she was alright, also saying that he's sorry. Athena was just frozen there but Sam noticed the time, it's nearly 11 o'clock, he called for Carson to see Harith out of the door, Adam was still talking to Athena, trying to comfort her, Sam walked toward Athena, he held her and tucked her in his arms, Adam was surprised that he tried to stop him, but Sam was furious as well, Sam glared at him, telling him to stop. Adam stopped and did realize what he did. He went to the study, stressed, he took his phone to call their Dad. It rang for a few seconds and then someone answered,
"Hello? Adam, what's wrong? Why'd you called?
"Dad, I did something terrible," Adam answered, and Mr. Chen asked, and as Adam was telling him the whole story, Sam was with Athena.
Athena's still in a state of shock, and Sam was trying his best to comfort her, minutes later, she spoke, asking if Adam doesn't like Harith, or would he continue to hurt him, stuff like that. Sam smiled, patted her head and leaned her head towards his chest, hugging her and said,
"Athena, no matter what happens, I'm sure that Adam only wanted what's best for you, probably he's looking out for you. One proof that he didn't dislike Harith is that he's been talking to Harith the whole evening, I'm sure he was just shocked,"
Athena understood his explanation and felt relieved, Sam decided to leave her already, he stood and left the room. Athena was trying hard to sleep but was stopped when a message popped on her phone, she quickly grabbed her phone to see, it was Harith,
"Hiya beautiful, are you asleep?"
Athena smiled and answered,
"I would gladly answer your question with a no, I am not asleep yet,"
"Athena, you really looked beautiful tonight, I wish I could've stayed a bit longer," he answered,
"We'll see tomorrow each other anyways. Right?" she asked him,
"Of course," he answered,
They continued texting until she fell asleep, and Harith was left hanging, well, he understood her, he just smiled and texted her,
"Good night Athena, sweet dreams,"
The whole night went on, and here comes the morning. Athena woke up and did all her morning routine, get dressed, and went downstairs, she was wearing clothes ready to go outside, and she was carrying her skateboard. Athena was so excited to go out but her brother Adam stopped her, saying that it's cold outside, she tried to defend herself saying that she's going indoors anyway but Adam is persistent, and so she just stepped back and went back to her room without eating breakfast. Sam, saw her pass him with a sad face, and so he guessed that Adam didn't let her leave the house, he was worried about Athena and so he went to the kitchen and prepared her some breakfast. He finished and placed it on a tray, he went to Athena's room, but first, he knocked, Athena thought that it was Adam and so she asked him to go away but Sam spoke,
"It's me Athena, I brought you breakfast," he waited for her response but nothing,
"May I come in?" he then asked,
Athena responded with a yes and he entered, Athena was lying down with a long face, Sam just looked at her and spoke,
"He didn't let you out didn't he?"
Athena nodded yes,
"Well, he'll have no choice because we'll be having our rehearsal later, our performance is tomorrow, we can't miss it,"
Athena's face brightened up when she heard this, te rehearsal is at 11 am. and it's still 8 am and so she still needs to wait, she sat down and ate her breakfast, Sam watched her finish and took the dishes out, he left the room and Athena is now feeling a lot better. She grabbed her phone and texted Harith,
"Hey, I won't be able to go there, my brother Adam did not let me, but luckily, I will have my last rehearsal later at 11 am, I really hope you can come,"
Harith received the message, he smiled and answered,
"Why pretty, do you miss me that much?"
Athena pouted and answered,
"Humph! You can just not come if you don't want to,"
Harith finds it too cute for him, and so he laughed and managed to calm her down.
In his heart, he is having a good progress, he really hopes that she's falling for him. But one problem left is Adam, he passed to Sam but Adam doesn't seem to like him.
