14 Chapter 14

 It was a sunny Sunday morning and Athena woke up from the sweet sound from the piano, it was her brother Sam. Just like always, back in Singapore, it was always majestic, the melodic sound is a perfect fit for a sunny morning. Athena stood up from her bed, went to the bathroom did what she always does. But today she wore something lady-like, she had the idea of wearing the white dress that her brothers sent her and paired it with nice two-inched white shoes. She did her hair in a nice loose braid like she always did. She then went t the room where she knows her brother would be in. She then opened the door and entered, her brother Sam is aware of her presence but he continued playing. Athena grabbed her violin and played along with him. Finally, Carson is hearing the same melodies he's been hearing back in Singapore. He just continued making breakfast but suddenly, there's a knock on the door. Carson hurried to the door and opened it, it was Harith again. Harith is welcomed by Carson and led him to Athena and Sam's whereabouts, Carson did not open the door but Harith is clearly allowed to enter, Carson left while Harith is hearing the playing of the violin and the piano, he opened the door and the first thing that caught his attention is Athena's looks, she looks very beautiful, and if Sam and Athena weren't siblings, they could be a perfect match. But Harith is only seeing Athena's beauty and hearing her melody. The siblings sighted him but they continued playing until Carson announced that breakfast is ready. They both stopped and left their instruments, Sam passed through Harith with a smile on his face, Athena paused for a while in front of him and held out her hand inviting his'. He gladly held her hand and they both went down the stairs. They reached the table and sat down for a meal. The three ate in silence, then suddenly, there is an awkward vibe, but Sam spoke, 

"Harith, do you have a liking on my sister?"

Athena was so surprised with what her brother said that she nearly choked from the food she's eating, Harith was worried, he then gave her a glass of water, but Sam was only watching, wearing a smile. Athena was finally settled and suddenly asked her brother,

"Sam, you surprised me,"

"Why so? I was asking Harith," he answered her with a smirk,

Harith suddenly asked Sam to have a nice conversation later when they've finished eating, and so they did when they're finally one eating.

They decided to have this chat in the sunroom,

"So, back to the question. Do you have a liking on my sister?" Sam asked him directly,

"Yes, is it wrong?" he answered him,

"Not really, as long as you're good for my sister. If she ever desires to be with you, I won't interfere because I don't want to destroy her happiness. So you don't have to see me as an obstacle, the person you should worry about is my older brother, Adam, go see first if he'll ever approve you," Sam explained,

Inside Harith's mind, there's a part where he's relieved to hear Sam's words, but there is also a part where he is nervous of this brother Adam, what if he doesn't like him? He just tried to act normal, and finally, he decided to go to the room where he found them early In the morning, there he found Athena, strumming the guitar without any chord, Harith found this as a chance for him since he knows how to play the guitar, he could show some to her. He sat down in front of her, 

"May I?" Harith asked her hoping that she'd hand it to him,

Athena had a second thought for a moment but she did hand it to him, he felt joy when he held the guitar and played it for her, as she was watching him, she's felt the same feeling that he felt this morning, every strum of the guitar is making her see grace in him, she's watching him and suddenly spoke without thinking,

"I never knew you could be handsome and graceful," Athena spoke these words with dreamy eyes,

Harith was so surprised that he wasn't able to think of what to say. She then came to her senses and blushed. She rose up and rushed to her room, Harith, of course, tried to run after her. Athena is feeling so nervous that her knees are shaking, and because of this, she fell on her knees, Harith is so worried, he stood her up and helped her to sit down on her chair. Athena just can't believe she just said those words but what made her feel the more tingling sensation to her spine is when Harith held her face and it made her feel weaker. But what's next is even more, he leaned towards her and he gave her a stare. His warm hand is still touching her face and slowly he moved forward reaching her lips. Athena's mind is so blank, that she didn't even get to close her eyes or look away the moment he reached her lips. They kissed, but as I said, Athena's mind is blank, she is so shocked. Harith moved away to see the look on her face. It was in a complete state of shock which made him worry. Athena turned red as a tomato and her eyes grew wide. Athena pushed him and asked him to go away. Harith's face turned sad and Athena didn't want that, Harith meant to get out of the house but Athena stopped him,

"Harith don't go, that's not what I meant,"

"I'd rather stay knowing that you love me back than stay and keep hurting because you don't," he answered and that situation made Athena cry, 

"Harith I do love you! It's just that, I'm scared that my brothers would go against my decision because I was once mistaken!" hearing her answer made Harith surprised, she does love him, she's only scared of what her brothers would think and say, but in Harith's mind, he knows that he brother Sam would approve and Adamson is the only problem. 

He wore a warm smile which made Athena ease up from crying, he hugged her and said,

"Athena, I'd do anything to make your family approve. Athena, I love you,"

"I love you too Harith," she answered.
