10 Chapter 10
Athena woke up from her sleep and is feeling a bit excited, Alex is surely free today, it's a Sunday so she's looking forward to seeing him today. She got up, went to the bathroom, and did all her stuff. She didn't bother eating breakfast because she's been expecting Alex to offer her a breakfast meal together. She texted him before hitting the road, but she didn't receive any replies. She waited but still no replies until she reached the hotel. She went to the receptionist and asked if Alex is still around, to her surprise, the receptionist answered her with "nothing, he already left," but he didn't checked out from the hotel. That's strange, if he left, he should've sent her a message or replied to her. She was starting to get confused, it seems like, Alex is not excited to go out on a date with her or at least go to her place and have meals together.
She just left the hotel and went to the park, but she's still expecting a reply from him. She arrived at the park in a bad mood but Harith finds it funny when Athena told him everything,
"Ok, what's so funny?"Athena asked furiously,
"Nothing," Harith answered her trying to hold back his laughing smile
"Fine!" Athena answered angrily. She was about to step on her skateboard but Harith stopped her,
"What?!" she asked him irritated,
"I think you're hungry, you should eat first, you haven't eaten yet," he answered her calmly, and yes, Athena is indeed hungry. Harith pulled her out to get some meal, they went to the nearest fast-food and ate together. While they're having their meal, Athena suddenly talked,
"Funny, I was expecting to have my breakfast in from of Alex, but I'm here with you," Harith was surprised to hear that from her,
"Maybe it's time for you to realize that you are in the wrong hands, that your boyfriend doesn't care,"
"You don't know him," she answered him
"Fine, tell me all about him, when did he ever set a surprise for you?" Harith asked her to take a moment to make a realization,
"Hey, he came all the way across the globe to come here," she answered him trying to defend Alex,
"But not for you," Harith answered her and silence. This gave him a sign that she's having a realization,
"Realized something?" Athena just kept silent from Harith's question. It's true, he came here for a businessman, not for her. She just didn't answer because she doesn't want to admit it to herself.
They continued eating and drove back to the park. Well as the usual protective Harith, he wouldn't let her skate for a few minutes. While she was resting, she received a message from Alex,
From Alex:
"Hey Love, sorry I wasn't able to tell you, I had to handle something urgent. Please tell me where you're at, I'll come to you,"
The moment she read it, she was screaming out of joy and she immediately replied and told him where she is. Harith heard her and so he approached her to know what's happening. Athena didn't speak but instead, she showed him the conversation, Harith was mad about it. But he just kept it inside, he doesn't want to leave there and see nothing. He stepped on his skateboard and continued skating and did his tricks. As for Athena, she stood up and practiced hor 'Ollie', surprisingly, she was able to do it perfectly, the past few days she wasn't able to land her feet on the board but this time, it landed on the board. Harith saw this, he approached Athena and hugged her tight,
"You did it!"
"Yeah, I did," they both cheered not knowing that Alex was there looking at them. The happy face of Athena became serious and anxious the moment she saw him, she let Harith go and quickly run into Alex,
"Alex, you're here," she said nervously,
"Yeah, you told me you'd be here, remember?" Alex answered her,
and the vibe became awkward between the three of them, except for Alex, he went straight forward to Harith's direction and spoke,
"Harith, am I correct," he asked Harith, Harith noded and they both shake hands with a sharp stare at each other. Athena noticed it and she tried to distract Alex,
"Umm, he taught me how to skate,"
"Is that so? Well, I always thought that you are not into it," Alex answered her with a serious face,
"I just happened to be," Athena answered him, she's sweating and Alex noticed this and he took out his handkerchief and wiped off her sweaty face. Athena turned red as a tomato but for Harith, he's also red ass a tomato but not because of romantic excitement but because he's jealous to see it. The sensation inside him is like 'argh!' but as much as possible he'd try not to mind the ugliest view Harith has ever seen.
The whole day almost went by like this until Alex had a phone call and immediately left. And now, the guy has left, again. Steve and Angelica left to go somewhere else, anyway, they've been suspecting something from them. But as for the case of Athena and Harith, the Steve can't, because there's this guy Alex on the way.
Alex left and the only people left there is Athena and Harith. They've been skating the whole time and Athena decided to take a break. And ass for Harith, it took a minute for him to sit down as well, he looked for his bottle but there's no water left, luckily, Athena handed him her bottle, Harith hesitated for a bit but don't worry, he took it. He drank and spoke,
"Thanks,"
"Don't mind it," Athena answered,
"Looks like the Alex guy doesn't like me," Harith said, Athena just remained silent while Harith's eyes are looking at her. Athena tried to change the topic by saying that it's gonna be their monthsary five days from now, Harith knew that she's just changing the topic but he didn't mind it anyway. Athena planned a surprise for him and so the following days, she asked for help from Harith to buy some stuff for this surprise. And at last, it's the day. The plan is to wait for him to arrive at his office and Athena would be there to surprise him, there's a cake, personally baked by Athena, some balloons and her friends waiting for her but sadly, Angelica and Steve had a plan for themselves, and so it's just Harith and Athena to surprise him.
minutes passed and Alex is now entering his office, Athena is so excited to pull off this surprise, not until she heard him say something on the phone, it is very unpleasant for Athena to hear this. Tears streamed down her face as she and Harith were there hiding.
