1 Chapter 7: The Darkest days(Carlos)
NOTE THAT THIS IS THE ONLY CHAPTER THAT IS IN A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE.
I am in the army at the top of my class. I keep thinking about my sister and how she must be doing. As I load my Shotgun and shoot at the target I hit the red dot in the middle.
"Damn man what's got you biting?" my drill sergeant laughs and hits my back
"Just thoughts of my sister" I sign and drop my gun and leave the training room. I lay my helmet on the floor and put my Shotgun on its rack.
"You need a woman in your life man. I think you should try for Bella Santiago shes 19 years old now and she is with your sister as her servant" he smiles
"No!I need to focus on my work and my feelings" I tell him
He laughs hard "Your a nerd you hear! Get yourself a girl and you'll feel much better!" and he walks away to his station.
I leave the facility and round the hall corner and bump into someone. I look down and see it's a girl with long brown hair to her waist.
I reach down to help her and pull her up to my chest level and she locks eyes with me. Oh my God!
How long has it been since I've seen my sister? She stares at me in surprise.
"Carlos? Carlos!?" she helps and jumps into my arms.
I see a guy coming out of her room and recognize him as the translator army cadet. I frown as he leaves her room and adjusts his armor.
"We've got to talk sister" I tell her and we make our way to here room and I close the door. I pull her close and she melts into my embrace.
"Who was that who just came from your room flushed?" I ask her
"Oh! His name is....his name is Paul Rodriguez Hernandez." she smiles
I frown "And why was he coming out of your room?"
She turns pink on her cheeks
"We've been together for 5 years now" she says
I gasp "And you can speak to him?"
The door opens and Bella comes in with a plate full of watermelon and a huge smile on her face.
"Guess what I just heard niña?" she asks Melanie
"Tell me what you heard Isabelita" my sister says
"um...Paul estaba hablando de cómo podrías estar embarazada porque dijo que ibas a la enfermería a ver a tu enfermera porque te sentías enferma y habías vomitado anoche." she speaks so fast I can't believe it's even Spanish.
All I could understand was Paul said that she had to go to the nurse and something about vomit. Bella grabs a piece of watermelon and eats it My sister looks at me and sighs.
"I think I may be pregnant"she says
"oh no... thats not good. he prince is always drinking your blood now and then so what if he tastes the difference in your blood?" I ask
"He'll kill me then or he'll ask who the father is" she says
"And if he asks?" I question
She turns red "I have an idea but I'll need your help with it" I say
"Oh no here it comes. okay what's your plan?" I smirk
"When I give birth 9 months from now you'll have sex with me and make me have a baby That's our blood DNA" she says
"WHAT!!?" I almost shout
"It'll only be once, Carlos" she practically begs me
I think about it for a moment "O-okay but it's only if you are pregnant am I right?" I ask
"Ummm...well, I meant that if I wasn't pregnant that you could help us with it since I trust you more sort of" she puts her head down.
"Oh god sister. I thought I was crazy 😂" I put a head to my head. When I lift my hand back off I see she is wavering in place. I am just in time to catch her before she falls to the floor. I gasp at her weight and realize that she needs a nurse so I call out for a guard and if it ain't two guards: Parker and....Paul!
Paul rushes over and speaks in Spanish to her in a rush
"Te dije que lo revisaras en la enfermería y ni siquiera lo pensaste. ¿Estás bien? ¿Eres capaz de soportar el dolor? ¿Puedo ayudar con algo?" and I don't know at all of what he's saying.
