11 RESCUE AND EXPOSURE

Serina's eyes glowed with different colors, like a rainbow swirling inside a circular stone. His father parked the car not so far yet not so close to Brigette's home, in that way, she'll have an easy way to deal with the robbers.

When they got inside thru the back door, Serina snapped a tree branch and hurled it towards the men, throwing them to the ground, making them disoriented for few seconds. As soon as they got back on their feet and walk, she summoned some tree roots and grass roots to come out of the solid ground, tripping these men once again.

To other, it looked like the robbers were flustered and anxious because of the police which was why they kept tripping and falling on the ground but on Serina and her family knew the truth.

"They're escaping through the back door!" Hillary shouted to the policemen who quickly responded and ran to the backyard where the backdoor to the kitchen was located.

"Please forgive us. We won't do it again." One of the men pleaded but his plea was ineffective. The police handcuffed them and escorted them to the police station.

"Thank goodness we made it." Serina breathed a sigh of relief while retracted her psychic energy and dispersed them. "Let's go and see them."

"Hn." Michael got inside the car to drive once again and this time, they really parked directly in front of Brigette's house.

"Bridge! Bridge!" Serina called out for her friend and when she got inside the living room, Hillary and her brother was there, talking to Brigette. "I'm so glad you are safe. Did they do something to you? Did they harm you?"

Brigette shook her head before drinking the glass of water she was holding. "They didn't see me. They thought no one was home. They thought I left after turning off the light to my room. Thank you for coming here."

"I'm your best friend. Why wouldn't I come here?" Serina retorted and hugged Brigette once again. "Are your parents coming back?"

"Hn. One of the police officers contacted them already and they're on the way. My phone ran out of battery." As they talked, two police officers were gathering evidences of the robbery. They didn't leave until Brigette's parents have arrived and have a nice chat with them.

By the time everything was settled, there's only one hour before midnight. "Since you are fine now and your parents are here, we will also go back home and rest." Serina told her best friends. "Send me a message if there's anything you need help with."

"Thanks, Rina."

"Me and my brother will go home as well."

"Thank you, Hillary. Thank you, Jackson." Saying the name of Hillary's brother, Brigette felt her face was getting hotter and her heart was beating faster.

"No, problem. Call me if you need help."

"Ha? Ah. O-okay."

Serina and Hillary looked at each other with their lips closed but there was this look in their eyes that only the two of them have a clue.

Back in the mountain side, while the party continued, the elders of the pack as well as their Alpha and Luna was looking at the view of the large city. There were different expressions on their faces. Others were bewildered, some were scared, indignant, surprised, excited and some couldn't help but feel unease.

"It was faint and very short but, I am sure that it was from the dragon tribe." One of the elders commented.

"Are they finally showing up after hiding for years?"

"It's time for us to settle our old scores. I will never forgive them for harming our Luna."

"No, a mistake of one person cannot be put on the rest of her group." It was Nicholas' mother who spoke. "It was their princess who put the curse on me. If their elder didn't block it on time, I'd die along with my children. We can only hope that they have found a cure. Let's not engage in a fight because we will be in disadvantage."

"But Madam, don't you feel aggrieved for what they have done? You are being merciful to them but did their princess show mercy to you?"

"As I said, it's the princess who was at fault not the rest of their tribesmen." She turned around and jumped off the huge rock in her wolf form. "I'm going back to the mansion."

The elders bowed their heads towards her and as soon as she left, they looked to their Alpha's direction. "Are we doing what the Luna just said?"

"No. Go and observe the city. We must find that person for us to know where the rest of their tribe lives."

"Yes, my Lord." The elders jumped one after another and landed on their four feet. It's easier to get to the border in their wolf form instead of going there as a human.

Nicholas on the other hand was standing at the balcony, looking at the city which he will be living starting tomorrow. 'Will I see her again?' he thought but since Michael was one of their workers, he can definitely meet her again. Or that's what he thought.

"Bro, have you heard the news?" his sister came and approached him with a bowl of grapes in her hands. She really loves to eat this fruit. "I heard our people talking in whisper about the emergence of the dragon tribe."

"I heard it, too." Nicholas replied softly. 'Even without them talking, I know they're just nearby.' He added mentally which his sister didn't know at all. He caught a glimpse of the dragon already and it even showed up in his party, he just didn't know which of them was the dragon.

"Will we be able to cure mom after finding them?" Yiran asked again.

"I don't know about that. The person who placed the curse on our mom was the princess of their tribe. Their elders didn't know which magic it was because they have never seen it before."

"How can their princess be so cruel?"

Nicholas didn't say anything and just rubbed his sister's head as gentle as he could but there was a cold glint that flashed across his eyes. No one knew what he had in mind.
