1 Everyday Life

I sat and stared out my window as I waited for him to eventually be alone. When his friend left, I got out of my car and went to the back door. I picked the lock and quietly stepped into his home. The smell of beer and filth hit me instantly. Disgusting. I found him sitting in an armchair watching T.V. Before he even noticed I was there I gave him a sedative. I covered his mouth, and he struggled for a few seconds before he was knocked out cold. He was out long enough for me to prepare.

A few hours had gone by when he finally woke up.

"It's about time. I thought you might've already been dead. I would've been quite disappointed."

He looked at me blankly and confused. I smiled at him.

"It's you! Please don't kill me! I never meant to hurt anyone! I'm better now!" he begged.

"Shut up," I replied.

He went silent.

"Now, you seem to know who I am, and I already know who you are."

"Oh, god! Please don't kill me! I was forced to do those things, I couldn't help myself!"

"Oh really? Someone forced you to abduct, rape and kill five kids? I don't think so. You've had this coming."

He opened his mouth to speak but before he could say anything more I raised my knife and stabbed him right in the heart. His blood spilled out and the warm crimson liquid ended up getting all over my favorite white tee that was gifted to me by my half brother. Shit! Jimin's gonna kill me. He died instantly, no last words. I untied his ankles and wrists and placed him back in his chair. I put everything back in place the way it was and left. In my car, on my way back to my apartment I called the police, told them I heard screaming and thought someone might've gotten hurt.

When I got back to my apartment I was greeted by Hansel, my loyal Black Labrador. I fed him and watched some T.V. Just as I was flipping through the channels breaking news appeared, 'Angel of Death Strikes Again.'

The news reporter appeared.

"I'm reporting live from the home of the Angel of Death's recent victim. There has been another string of murders in a suburban area, four crimes but only one body found. I am here with lead detective, Lee Park."

"Detective, do you have any evidence leading you to find this, Angel of Death?"

"Not at the moment but we have evidence concluding that a man is responsible for these horrific crimes."

"Have you found any evidence that could help you with finding the identity of this man?"

"Not at the moment, but we found a specific pattern and signature with the deaths of the now sixteen identified victims."

"Could you please tell us?"

"I'm afraid I'm going to have to decline, but I will say this, me and the rest of the police force will find this killer and bring him to justice."

"Thank you detective."

I rolled my eyes and turned the T.V. off.

To think they could catch me. Good luck boys.

I got bored, killing people maybe fun in the beginning but it gets old and boring pretty fast, so I decided to work on some demos since we were supposed to release our new album in a few weeks. I went into my studio and just as I put my earphones in, my phone rang.

Namjoon hyung? Why would he be calling?

I ignored it, letting it go to voicemail. It was finally quiet and I was relaxed, able to work on these songs. Right when my finger hit the play button, my doorbell rang. At this point I had less patience than usual and angrily got up and went to see who it was.

"What do you want?" I yelled aggressively when I opened the door.

"Hey Kookie. What's up," replied the guy at the door. He wore ripped blue skinny jeans, that really showed off his well toned thighs and calves. A black oversized sweatshirt, the usual many rings on his fingers and a pair of beige Timberlands.

"Just wanted to see how you were doing, with the police hunt and all," he said.

"I'm doing fine. Why are you really here though?"

"Namjoon hyung told me to come get you for practice."

"Mhm. Fine I'm coming."

I grabbed my phone and we went down to the garage to get in Jimin hyung's black Cadillac. On our way we saw some police cars speeding past us.

Jimin glanced over at me. "Did you recently just kill someone?"

"No, I swear. Just that one from the news, I've been in my apartment all night." I replied looking out the window at the police cars zooming past us.

"Strange."

"I'll say."

"Turn on the radio, maybe they're talking about it."

I turned the radio on to a news channel and turned the volume up.

'Breaking news. Another victim has been found but this one survived. He was attacked by a hooded man outside his home.'

"What idiot would pretend to be me? Much less be so sloppy."

Jimin looked over at me. "What are you going to do about this copycat?"

"What do you mean? I'm going to kill him, there can only be one Angel of Death. I mean I'm pretty offended that there at idiots out there trying to be me, I feel belittled and I hate that fucking feeling."

Jimin smiled. "Ah kookie, you're so faithful to your profession."

He pulled the black Cadillac into the parking lot in front of BigHit. When we got into the practice room we were greeted by a smiling Taehyung, who was in his usual get up, baggy pants, Gucci sandals and a Gucci button up.

We got into our dance positions as soon as the music went on. In the middle of our practice for our song, Blood Sweat & Tears, our manager came barging in.

"Turn off the music, guys I have something to tell you," he said with a bright smile.

We looked at him with confused expressions.

"Well what is it?" asked Taehyung.

"I got you guys booked for another world tour in the U.S."

We were all so excited but deep down I was actually disappointed. I'd have to stop killing for awhile.

"Alright, I'll leave you guys to go back to your practice now." With that said, he left.

"Wow this is going to be great," said Namjoon.

"Yeah this means we're going to be visiting Chicago again! Delicious deep dish pizza!" Exclaimed Jin as he did his weird robot dance and started to laugh his windshield wiper laugh.

"Yeah, well if you guys are going to just go on about this then I'm going to head home. See ya later," I said giving them a fake smile.

I went out to the parking lot to get into my car when I remembered Jimin had driven me, unfortunately he was definitely not going to hand over the keys to that nice Cadillac of his. But at this time cabs were pretty expensive especially to where my apartment was located, and I honestly hate trains, so I decided to walk.

When I was a few blocks away from my apartment complex, I started to sense someone was watching me. I really wasn't in the mood to get attacked by crazy fangirls or the paparazzi.

"Whoever is out there, I can hear you and if you even try anything you'll regret crossing paths with me," I said aloud, annoyed.

A man dressed in black jumped me. He threw me to the ground and said, "Do you know who I am? I'm the Angel of Death, and your time has come."

I just laughed.

He looked at me confused.

"No you're not, you're just a pathetic nobody who wants attention," I said as I pushed him away and got up.

"I'll kill you if you don't shut up," stuttered the guy.

"Look there is only one Angel of Death in this hell hole and that's me," I replied ignoring his demands. "How dare you try to be me, no one can be me, I'm irreplaceable."

"Oh shit! Listen man I just wanted to help. I'm just trying to get rid of scum, just like what you're doing."

"I don't need your help," I scoffed.

I reached into my pocket and pulled out a syringe full of an untraceable sedative and jabbed it in his neck. He knocked out instantly. I dragged his body to the closest alley and laid him out. I took out my knife and sliced open his throat, he bled out in minutes. I felt the warm liquid get all over my hands. I wiped my hands off and headed to my apartment.

When I arrived, I laid down on my sofa and listened as I heard a bloodcurdling scream echo through the streets. I laughed to myself. Immediately after I heard sirens and saw flashing lights outside my living room windows, along with the press not far behind. Curious as to what the headlines would say this time I turned on the T.V.

The headlines read, 'Man Slain, Possible Victim of the Angel of Death'

The reporter came on screen.

"I'm standing here in front of the alley of the recent victim of the Angel of Death. I'm here with Lead detective Lee Park.

Detective, what can you tell me about this victim? I heard he doesn't match with any of the other Angel of Death victims, what changed?" she asked.

"Well, the victim did not have a record, he was never arrested and never violated any laws. We've found that the Angel of Death only kills criminals. This kill was personal, the victim was either a crime of opportunity or he knew something about the identity of the Angel of Death," he replied.

"Thank you detective."

When I was about to turn the T.V. off, I heard something familiar, it was myself singing. I looked up at the t.v and saw Jimin and then myself and then the other five members. I just remembered that it was the commercial that we recently shot several weeks before.

I suddenly heard loud knocking followed by loud frantic yelling.

"Jungkook! Hey Jungkookie! Open the door! We really need to speak. Little brother, come on, I know you're in there. Open the door."

I angrily stomped over to the door with Hansel behind me growling and yanked the door open.

"What do you want Jimin?"

"That man? They're going to figure out who you are," said Jimin frantically as he came into my apartment.

"No they won't. Trust me," I replied.

"Trust you? Do you remember when you were nine?" asked Jimin practically yelling.

"Hyung, you promised you wouldn't bring that up ever again," I replied rolling my eyes.

"Well if you're not more careful than you're going to end up like when you were nine, except the police won't let you off, they'll lock you up for the rest of your life, without parole."
