26 For eternity!

They both sat facing each other and between them was a wide spread of delicacies which Yan Xuan had arranged for them.

"Sheng Tao asked Xi Mian about your likes. I got to know that you prefer meat and desserts so I wasn't sure if I should bring anything else." He said, while serving her strawberry cake.

Mo Hua smiled at his thoughtfulness and said," I love strawberry cakes." They started to stare lovingly at each other for a second longer before Yan Xuan starts coughing, pulling away his staring eyes from her and handing her the plate.

"We shouldn't waste this food I arranged for our date." He said in a joking manner causing Mo Hua to chuckle softly.

"Yes, of course. Thank you, Xuan." She felt her face getting hotter as he smiled at her and said, "Anything for you."

He then placed the hot and sour pork ribs on her plate. That was his favourite so he said, "I brought this just in case if you want to try. This is my favourite"

Mo Hua was touched by his soft words again and started eating her dinner which was served by Yan Xuan.

The rest of the time went on like that for an hour. They enjoyed their remaining dinner sipping the wine Yan Xuan had arranged, talking and laughing at the incidences they faced throughout their entire day today.

Crescent moon and stars were shining brightly in the night sky. The two packed the uneaten food away clearing the mess on the sheet.

Yan Xuan laid down on the sheet below with his arms wide spread motioning her to lay down beside him.

Mo Hua placed her head on his arm and she leaned closer to him while lying beside him.

The softness and gentle touch of his arm against her neck made her back tingle. They were staring at all the stars in the sky contently and trying to find constellations. They didn't speak because in their own way, they were already communicating.

It was a blissful moment for both of them and they stayed like that for like eternity. When he saw the night getting deep and darker, Yan Xuan turned towards Mo Hua and interwined their finger again.

His mind was in turmoil. He was waiting so long to ask but still he was not able to muster up the courage to ask the most anticipate question.

Looking at her deep brown eyes, he gathered the needed courage and finally said," This is the best day in my life. I was never this calm and happy since I lost my father. You are the only source of light which pierced through the darkness and entered in my heart."

He scooted closer to her and rubbing her cheeks with his thumb in swirls he continued," Just like the night sky is illuminated by the moonlight, you illuminate my heart with your presence. So, Hua, I want to be this happy and calm for rest of my life. Will you be my girlfriend and accompany me for spending such beautiful moments now and for rest of our lives?"

Mo Hua was stunned by his confession. Although she was expecting this to happen but was not prepared fully to confront his feeling as well as hers.

She was in utter shock that no words escaped her mouth. Seeing her not responding, Yan Xuan's heart sank. He knew she liked him but still a bad premonition flashed in his heart and his hand which was on her face trembled.

Realising the situation, she felt even more guilty and thought, 'What's wrong with me?'

'Isn't this expected?'

'Why am I scared? And about what?'

Seeing her fighting a battle with her inner self, Yan Xuan patiently said, "Don't worry Hua. I am willing to wait. If you are not ready then it's okay. I won't push you to take any decision. But the moment you decide to get in a relationship and willing to give your heart to certain someone, please think about me. I will be waiting till then."

Tears started falling from Mo Hua's eyes. Even though Yan Xuan was talking to her patiently but still she sensed the feeling of broken heart from his tone.

She liked him. Yes she liked him but never expected it to be a commitment for life time. She had a bad experience from relationships she saw in her life and was scared to commit herself at early stage.

'MoMo, look at this guy. He is not the same as you think. He will not hurt you.' Her inner voice tried to convince her and she closed her eyes for few seconds.

Those few seconds were like years for Yan Xuan. He was waiting patiently for her to say something. He was ready to wait for her even if its for eternity. But he wanted to hear that from her mouth.

Just when he was going to say something, warm lips covered his cold lips spreading warmth in his entire body.

'What!' he was super surprised by this sudden reaction from her. He didn't react or responded to her kiss.

He was in deep thought to figure out what this kiss meant.

'Is it a good bye forever kiss?'.

'No, it can't be. I am an idiot... Why did I scare her?'

'Ugggh! What do I do...? What do I do now?'

Parting their lips, she glanced at his deep eyes and a sweet smile formed on Mo Hua's face.

She saw Yan Xuan's face filled with questions and sensed that he missed the meaning of her kiss.

So, she slowly caressed his face with her long slim fingers and said, "I am glad to spend rest of my nights stargazing with you and day's exploring each and every happiness around the world."

Yan Xuan was flabbergasted by her words but the next moment he sealed her lips with his and turned the soft and gentle kiss into a passionate one.

They parted their lips only when they felt lack of oxygen. Eyes still closed, their foreheads touched each other's, when they said, "For eternity!" in unison.
