1 Wakamono - Youth

Tsubaki looked at the crying little girl with a deadpan expression. Blood was stained on the side of her face, clothing, and on the snow. The girl sobbed as she just witnessed her mother get killed by a Yoru. The young women bent down to be on the same level as the young child. For a vampire, the little girl was dressed nicely for the cold weather. Tsubaki hated the way she looked but she did not show her true emotions to the monster. It was one of the main rules in Seinaru Yoru, to never show your emotions to the vampires or else they'll find a way to trick you. The little girl looked up at Tsubaki with tears streaming down her face.

"Why'd he hurt mama?!" She cried out referring to Tsubaki partner, Nobuki Araragi who was chasing after another vampire. Tsubaki sighed softly before scratching her head. The girl was no less than eight and she had just witness the death of her mother. Snow started to fall down on the two heavily as well as the wind began to blow harder against their skin. Tsubaki began to remember when she was eight and saw her parents died because of vampires. She clenched her fist as she stood up, her pale blue short bob cut blew with the wind. Her short bangs that reached her nose were cover her left eye.

"You don't have the right to cry." She stated looking at the girl coldly with her dark purple eyes. This caused the little girl to become confused, she sobbed even harder calling out for her mother to help her. Tsubaki pulled the collar of her short black trench coat. She then pulled out a Talisman that was a thin sheet of paper that had a star on it. "Seinaru hana no odori. . ." Tsubaki mumbled causing the harsh winds to pick up speed around her card, pretty soon it seemed like petals of white glowing flowers were flowing along the wind. "I've had enough of your whining vampire." Tsubaki states as she throws the talisman towards the little girl.

"AHHH!!!" She screamed as the white petals cut her through her clothing and to her skin. Blood flows out of her cuts, staining the snow with even more blood -- this time it was the little girls blood. The little girl falls on the snow just barely alive. Tsubaki then bends down looking at her with disgust. She pulls out a small sword ready to stab the girl. "Mi - miss. . ." The young vampire coughs out. For some reason Tsubaki decided to hear what she says. "Wh-What's . . . you-your . . . name? Ma . . mama . . . always . . . to-told . . . me . . . to ask a -a . . . someone's . . . name . . ." She managed to asked with the little strength she had left. She wouldn't be able to heal herself, because she was too young and because Tsubaki had hit her with a Holy Spell.

"Tsubaki." The young women sighed as she waited for her response.

"That was mama's na--" But before the little girl could finish a gunshot could be heard. Once the sound stopped ringing in Tsubaki's ear she looked back down at the girl to find her head destroyed. Blood was all over Tsubaki's face and trench coat.

"You took too long, Oyamada-san." Nobuki said with a smile as he walked over towards the young woman. He grabbed her bare hand looking at the blood that was not her own. "You should've stabbed her when you had the chance~" He scolded cheerfully causing Tsubaki to pull her hand away. "Aha~! Looks like I get the bigger reward~ Better luck next time, Oyamada." He teased before walking back to the organization. "Coming~?" He asked with a sly smile.

"Araragi-san." Tsubaki was about to ask but Nobuki already knew the answer. He giggled as he turned to her.

"Her name was Anohana and the mother was Tsubaki, like yours~"
