49 Chapter 48

When Sephiroth saw the four now, they each were supporting several different wounds on their bodies now from the last attack while they were numerous they were not severe ones meaning that they didn't really lose any combat ability. Well all except Zeoticus whose back got even worse than before with the recent attack he just took.

"Oh, I'm surprised that you all didn't take more damage from that attack considering that it is against the light element…. Should have put a bit more into it" Sephiroth said showing the four that he could have easily overpowered them if he really wanted too.

Getting back in his stance he waved his free hand in front of him and did something that shocked everyone that was there all with an indifferent expression on his face, almost like what he did was a normal thing for him. He copied what Sirzechs, Grayfia, and Venelana just did to him not that long ago and surrounded the three with dozens of small magical circles encasing them in a dome much like he was.

Only he used the light element and made lances out of the element. Each one was bigger and longer than the ones that the trio used against him and they could also feel the amount of magical power in each one of those lances aimed at them. This made the three extremely worried and wondered if they could even come out of this alive without suffering from a severe life threatening injury or not.

While those three were now trapped inside that dome of death, Sephiroth quickly used his speed and moved in front of Zeoticus and stood opposite of him. Zeoticus was still holding on as best he could but he knew that he was the weakness out of the four of them on his side and not to mention that he was injured as well didn't help his situation especially against someone like Sephiroth.

Sephiroth raised his sword and pointed it toward Zeoticus who looked haggard from the fight, you could see from the grim expression on his face he knew he might either lose his life unless he paid a severe price to escape Sephiroth. But he knew that he didn't have a chance against a monster like Sephiroth given the current state that he was in.

"Do you regret challenging me now?" Zeoticus only grit his teeth to this question but finally spoke up after a moment.

"What choice did we have, you killed a pure devil and someone has to answer for it. I won't let my family suffer because of your actions so you have to be taken in" Zeoticus said with clear anger in his voice at this situation that they find themselves in right now.

Taking a moment to process what Zeoticus said, Sephiroth looked straight into his eyes and then spoke "I almost pity you and your family."

"You are so use to getting your way that you didn't even think that I would deny you when you tried to take me in"

"Your ignorance and arrogance will be your downfall today and a price must be paid so that you and your family learn your lesson." Zeoticus' face was so red at the end of Sephiroth's little speech just showing how much anger he was containing inside his heart right now and if Sephiroth had said another sentence he might have spit up blood out of anger.

Venelana seeing this current situation that they were all in decided that she had to do something otherwise she might just end up losing her husband to Sephiroth, "Wait please just let us all go and we can forget that this whole thing happened. We can drop this whole matter and act like nothing happened and won't bother you again about this, what do you say?" pleaded Venelana to Sephiroth

"Why should I even listen to someone that is weaker than me, I could kill you all whenever I please and there is nothing that you four could do to stop me"

"Now Sephiroth don't force us to go all out?" Sirzechs stated with a fierce expression on his face while looking at Sephiroth in between the magic circles surrounding them right now.

With a small smirk on his face he looked at the trio which gave the three a bad feeling, then they felt the atmosphere suddenly get ice cold like the feeling of death was looming over all of them making them shiver at the feeling and have a body full of cold sweat. Then they heard the faint whisper that came from Sephiroth's mouth that opened slightly, "Heartless Angel"

It was an attack that has slight charge time to it and when unleashed will either instantly kill the target through a weak point or put them in a near-death like state. It is something that Sephiroth will rarely use because none are deemed worthy of him to use such a technique on them, he only did so to show them how truely weak they are compared to him and to make them feel true despair.

Sephiroth moved so fast that no one could even see him move but when he finally reappeared in their sights they only saw him on the opposite side of Zeoticus. He was several feet away from him and he had his back turned to them all now.

They all wondered what he did because they couldn't see what happened and from the looks of it he didn't do anything but speed by Zeoticus and get on the opposite side of him without doing anything. Then they saw what happened, especially Zeoticus who felt what had happened to him finally.

There was a thin red line on Zeoticus throat that showed with the blood dripping from it and before Zeoticus could say anything about the situation his head fell from his body in front of him and fell to the ground and shortly afterward so did his body as well. The last thing that Zeoticus saw was his headless body and his last thought was why did they provoke such a monster such as Sephiroth.

Sephiroth waved the blood off his sword and then turned around to look at the trio who were still trapped, the three were shocked that Sephiroth would actually kill one of them and then they felt it unimaginable anger and rage in their body with some of them having tears in their eyes seeing their father/husband/father in-law die like that. They used these feelings and powered up themselves to try and bust out of the dome of magic circles, the air was thick with magical power from the three.

Sephiroth seeing this Sephiroth activated his magic circles and unleashed hundreds upon hundreds of light lances towards the trio in the dome. Grayfia and Venelana used everything that they had to make a barrier to surround the three of them pouring all of their magic into it while Sirzechs charged his magical power and started his transformation into his super devil form for the first time since the war.

When Sirzechs was finally done you couldn't even see his body anymore but just the outline of it. His body was made out of pure destruction energy, he looked like a specter with his glowing red eyes with the rest of his body looking crimson in color. The feeling that he excluded now was that at the same level as Sephiroth was right now in power.

"Interesting let's see how he handles this" Sephiroth said while he raised his free hand in the air and gathered a massive amount of magical power, it was unknown what he was doing at least from the perspective of the trio in the dome but they new that whatever it was, was not going to be good for them. They had a feeling of crisis right now and knew that they either had to stop him or get far away if they wanted to survive, meaning that they had to break out of this dome.

After Grayfia and Venelana blocked an unknown amount of light lances headed toward them with their barrier, Sirzechs was finally able to gather enough magical power to unleash a massive wave of destruction energy out of his body that was able to not only destroy all the light lances in the air headed toward them but also destroy the magic circles that were keeping them trapped inside.

All three of them were breathing hard from expanding so much magical power for so long but they didn't forget about Sephiroth and they were angry that they held toward this man now after what he had done to Zeoitcus. Then they noticed that all of a sudden it got dark and they couldn't figure out why that was until all of them looked up and were shocked and couldn't process what they were seeing.

A massive flaming meteor was headed toward them from the sky, it was big enough to create a massive crater in the ground and destroy dozens of miles of the area around them killing an untold amount of people nearby. What was Sephiroth thinking is what their thoughts were seeing this coming toward them.

Still trying to process this situation they heard Sephiroth voice in the distance "Try not to die" hearing this they all felt great remorse in their hearts for challenging someone like this.

Sirzechs knew that if he didn't do anything not only would they die but hundreds of people nearby would die as well. "Grayfia, mother, quickly pour whatever magical power that you have left into my body. I'll channel that power into a powerful destruction beam that will hopefully destroy the meteor headed towards us or at the very least break it up enough to curb the damage that it will create." The two just nodded their heads to this knowing that they would have to give their all if they hoped to survive and save as many people as they could.

Sephiroth, seeing what they were going to do, decided to form a protective barrier around the arena area while they were not paying attention to him so that the explosion that will happen won't kill Akeno and the others. He only wants to teach those three a lesson not kill one of his lovers and his acquaintances.

Unaware of what Sephiroth has done the three put their all into destroying the meteor that is headed to them, when Sirzechs unleashed the accumulated magical energy that he got from Grayfia, Venelana, and himself he was able to send a massive crimson beam made out of pure destruction energy at the center of the meteor. Praying that it was strong enough to disintegrate the whole meteor.

When the crimson beam of energy made contact with the meteor it was showing visible success but it wasn't disintegrating fast enough and would impact them long before it was completely gone at the rate that they were going. If only Zeoitcus hadn't died then they would have been able to stop this meteor before it got to them but there is nothing that they can do about it now.

It was slowly getting smaller and slowing down with the amount of magical power that the three were throwing at it but in the end they just didn't have enough magical power to stop it and the meteor reached them causing a massive explosion with them at the epic center of it all. The explosion covered the whole arena but right before it reached outside of the arena area it was blocked by the barrier that Sephiroth set up and you could see everything stopped by an invisible wall of sorts almost like a glass window.

When the debris finally settled down and the smoke cleared up, Sephiroth disbursed the barrier he set up. Where the arena floor used to be was a massive crater expanding the whole area and at the bottom of it was Grayfia, Venelana, and Sirzechs. All with severe injuries on their body but lucky enough they all didn't lose any body parts but they were differently hurt badly with several broken bones in their bodies if the ones sticking out here and there was anything to go by.

The three were looking up at the sky on their backs groaning in pain but then they heard light footsteps heading towards them they finally felt true despair. They couldn't move, were badly injured and out of magical power. They were at their weakness point right now and even a mere human could probably kill them right now with the state that they are in.

Standing a few feet away from them "Do you know why I decided to fight you instead of just escaping, and before you say anything else know that with my speed if I wanted to get away I could have easily" Sephiroth spoke in an even tone of voice with a blank expression on his face.

Groaning in pain, Sirzechs lifts his head to look at Sephiroth "No, I don't know. Why don't you enlighten me Sephiroth?"

"It was your arrogance that you thought you could order me around. I couldn't stand your arrogance so I decided to teach you all a lesson."

"There is just one more thing that needs to be done, one more of you have to die for the lesson to be truly taught..... So which one of you will it be?" Sephiroth said

Before the other two could say something Sirzechs spoke up and volunteered himself not wanting to lose his wife or mother to this monster in human skin. Sephiroth just nodded his head to this expecting that Sirzach's would be the one to volunteer himself but before he could follow through with the execution he was interrupted by someone.
