Arc 1.4

Nicolás grins when he hears the outside news the next day. The commoners are all praising him and shaming Luciana. He is glad that the Luciana has no brain. She doesn't really think about the consequences.

"General Nicolás a messenger just came the Emperor is asking for you" William announces when he came in. Nicolás smirks he is ready to face the Emperor advisor. He heads out and sees that the carriage had already been prepared. Nicolás walks to his carriage and boards it. Once he had left his land people were outside his home. They were all cheering for him and calling his the embodiment of justice. He stuck out his head and gives them a wave.

...In the palace...

In the palace, the advisor is bowing to the Emperor begging for his son to be let out. Emperor Evan frowns when he hears the proclamation of the advisor. If he did that it would be slapping Nicolás in the face. If the Montes family stop caring about the royal family it can bring Linux to destruction. The royal family and the Montes family is what makes Linux run perfectly. Without the other, the whole of Linux crumbles.

"Please, Emperor he is a bright child and did very well in the exam. I was grooming him to be a scholar and join the palace to help Emperor with his work" begs advisor Holden on his knees. The door swung open revealing Nicolás standing there. He glares at advisor Holden and looks up to the Emperor.

"This lowly commoner greets the Emperor," Nicolás says as he gives the Emperor a bow. The Emperor looks at him and gives him a slight nod.

"Future General Nicolás it's good that you responded so quickly" the Emperor states. Advisor Holden glares furiously at Nicolás and clenching his fists.

"Of course this commoner would respond quickly since the Emperor called for me. I would be a disgrace if I came any later who am I to make the Emperor wait anymore then necessary" Nicolás states. He knew that they would get Prince Lance and Luciana. The system had already informed him that they were at Prince Lance home. Which is only five minutes from the main royal palace. He had taken 20 minutes to get here and that was since his home is about 18 minutes from the palace. He is lucky that he lives so close to the royal palace or it would take longer. The Emperor couldn't help but smile at Nicolás who is always so sweet. He wished that at least one of his kids would come out like Nicolás.

"Sorry we were late father Emperor" apologizes Lance who just arrived with Luciana. Lance and Luciana bow to the Emperor to greet him. However, Luciana bow was wobbly and she was shaking a bit. Nicolás looks at her he knew she was exaggerating her injuries.

"It would seem you are still injured, Luciana" the Emperor frowns. He glances at Nicolás then back at Luciana.

"It would seem like using forty percent of my power was too much. I apologize, Luciana, I did not want to injure you so much. I used eighty percent of my strength when fighting Lady Merissa I really thought you were on her level. I however only used forty percent to start with as I did with Lady Merissa" Nicolás apologizes he was about to bow but is stopped.

"Nicolás you don't need to bow to Luciana it isn't your fault she is weaker than she should be. As in the ranking system of the academy, she was supposed to be stronger than Merissa. She should be glad that you didn't use eighty percent of your strength to start with. If she is harmed this much with barely half of your power imagine the amount of damage done if you used eighty percent" The Emperor stops Nicolás. Prince Lance eyes widen he didn't think that Lady Merissa who chases him is much stronger than Luciana by such a large amount. Lady Merissa must be very talented to force Nicolás to use eighty percent of his power.

"Understood" Nicolás answers the Emperor. He is glad that the Emperor stopped him he did not want to bow down to her. Luciana frowns why isn't Nicolás being scolded and why was she! She did nothing and she was the one hurt not Nicolás.

"Let us deal with the problem I called for it's about the advisor son," the Emperor asks the three. This was a test to the three he wanted to hear their deduction and what they believe should be done. The Emperor looks at Nicolás first meaning he should say what he believes first.

"In this humble commoner eyes, I believe that he should be arrested. First of its because he did break four laws forcing courtship, attempted assault, using his nobility rank to intimidate others, and lastly resisting arrest. That's not even including threatening me and disrespecting me. The second reason if Emperor lets this go the nobles will think they are able to break laws and will be let go without consequences. They will not follow the laws set and who knows what they would do. The third reason is if the Emperor does this the public will not take it well. Commoners will think of the Emperor as cruel and evil to let the nobles do that to them. Last of all, I would reject the general position since if I can't uphold justice the way it should be I would prefer not to take the post. My family has always told me to uphold justice and not let any lawbreakers free" Nicolás lists. The Emperor and the others were in pure shock about the last reason. They couldn't believe that Nicolás would give up his position for such a minor thing. The Emperor did not like the threat but he couldn't help but be moved. As Nicolás put the people above personal interest and fame. He truly wanted to protect the people. Prince Lance could only show admiration to Nicolás for being so brave to say that. The advisor understood that his son will not be released.

"Nicolás! You shouldn't threaten the Emperor about it, you can easily be replaced you aren't needed" Luciana courageously states. Nicolás looks at her and frowns.

"It wasn't a threat it's the truth I would never take it if it meant I had to look the other way because some of them were nobles" Nicolás stubbornly states.

"Nicolás thanks for telling us what you believe. Now Luciana what do you believe?" Asks the Emperor looking at Luciana with a strict look. He wanted her to stop irritating Nicolás. Prince Lance starts to separate away from Luciana a bit as he is ashamed of her behavior.

"I believe he shouldn't be arrested as the nobles will think that the Emperor truly didn't like them. That they would revolt and bring trouble to Linux in general" Luciana explains. Nicolás held down his laughter as he hears the stupid answer. The Emperor looked ready to burst in anger and Prince Lance ran next to Nicolás.
