Arc 1.3

Nicolás wakes up in an hour from his lovely nap only to hear idiotic news.

"Luciana Carreira is stating that you were belittling her during her fight for being a girl" the guard exclaims in anger. Belittling someone when their down in battle is looked down upon. Nicolás smiles she played her move and that will backfire terribly.

"If giving her suggestions to improve is belittling then I admit my fault" Nicolás states. The guard's eyes widen and shook his head.

"General you are not at fault here! She is spouting nonsense she is only trying to tarnish your name. I William Montes will not stand for this injustice!" William exclaims in anger how dare they think of tarnishing General Nicolás. Nicolás nods, so that's the name of one of the guards. He remembers now that the reason why his guards were so loyal was that when the original Nicolás was younger he took them in and adopted them into his family. The names of the guards resurfaced and now he knew who were loyal to him and which ones betray him in the future.

"William, don't do anything there is no need to" Nicolás answers him. He stood up and headed to the door. The only way to counter vicious rumors well do something beyond kind that will create news. He opens the door with a small smirk he heads to the bustling city. Nicolás walks around with his guards hiding in plain sight. He heads to the shadier side of the city. Not many of the guards are stationed here as not many want to work there. That's when he hears a big commotion up ahead. Many gathered both commoners and some nobles who were passing by.

"Do you know who I am? I'm the son of the emperor's advisor, Bradley Holden! How dare you think you can just walk away when you have insulted me in such a way" screams a stereotype snob. Nicolás is gleefully surprised this event was big in the original life. However, it was resolved by the heroine which made the people like her.

"I do not want to be with you! I love someone else and I do not care who you are!" Screams a young girl's voice filled with fear and anger. Nicolás made his way through the crowd that's when he sees the heroine coming from the other side with the Prince on her side. She had a bandage and had a slight limp but that's all. Nicolás smirks how will you prove that I see women below men after this. When Nicolás saw Bradley about to smack the woman. He intervenes blocking his sword with his own and even manages to make the other drop their weapon.

"I don't know why you believe yourself above the law. Especially daring to assault a woman who clearly does not like you. If she says it's a no then it's a no! Do not break the law women are equal to men and have the power to deny any courtship they don't want. I also would like to say that females are not toys they are humans. The Emperor clearly has stated that no one is allowed to force courtship. So by the law, you're under arrest and your daddy won't be able to save you" Nicolás coldly scolds Bradley. Who looked at Nicolás in shock but it quickly faded.

"You have no right to arrest me! You have no power to do that" Bradley screaming. He clearly didn't know who Nicolás really is.

"Guards arrest him! I'm Nicolás Montes I am the one who protects the Emperor and the people. So yes I can arrest you even if you did nothing, I could still arrest you" Nicolás replies coldly. The woman stood behind Nicolás with a look of gratefulness. The commoners look in glee as Bradley is grabbed by Nicolás to be arrested.

"He deserves it!" The woman cries out in joy at justice being served. Luciana comes in a hurry seeing Bradley being arrested forcibly.

"Nicolás! Why are you randomly arresting people! That's the son of the advisor of the emperor" Luciana asks forcibly. Nicolás frowns on the outside but on the inside, he was grinning like a mad man.

"Who gave you the right to just call me by my name? Who are you to question me? The Emperor trusts my judgment he has never questioned me in any of my choices. I arrest those who should be arrested. No matter what rank they are. Remember this lady Luciana I don't report to you" Nicolás responds coldly. The woman who Nicolás helped glares at Luciana. Wondering why a fellow female will not want a man who tries to force women in jail.

"I....I...I.I why do you have to be so mean" Luciana whimpers. Lance frowns seeing his love being put down. The commoners only scuff at her acting. The image of Nicolás helping one of them was still fresh in their mind. They were also finding it annoying as to why is she questioning Nicolás who clearly is trusted by the Emperor.

"Sir Nicolás on what basis are you arresting him for?" Asks Prince Lance with a bit of doubt in his voice. He, however, tried not to show it because his father trusted Nicolás.

"Prince Lance that would be on the basis of forceful courtship. Including threatening and even attempted physical assault" responds Nicolás. Prince Lance becomes quiet and nods.

"I see then go on I shouldn't have doubted your choice. It's clear why father Emperor trusts you" Prince Lance states. He couldn't find any fault in Nicolás. He is not afraid to insult anyone and will do his job honorably. He is a man who follows the rules and doesn't let any injustice happen in his charge. He looks at Luciana with a bit of disappointment as she tried to obstruct justice.

"Madam, can you please come with me to write up a statement?" Nicolás asks the woman who was almost assaulted. She nods shyly with a big smile forming. She could finally get the justice she craved! Luciana can only watch as everyone sides with Nicolás yet again!
