5 Episode 5: Hugs

"Do you still love your ex-girlfriend?"

Jimin puts a hand on his nape. He was afraid Y/N's going to ask that. "Y/N. You already know my answer to that question."

The truth slapped Y/N in the face, "How long have you been together?"

Jimin was surprised. It seems that Y/N's interrogating him, "About one and a half year. We were going to celebrate our 500th day together but everything was a mess."

"Oh. What happened?" Y/N asked him.

"Hey? Why are you asking that?" Jimin got a little awkward.

"I'm just curious. I wanted to know the reason why you broke up." Y/N asked.

"Why do you want to know anyway?" Jimin raised his eyebrow.

Y/N sighed. "So I can understand you, to know where you're coming from. It's hard to deal with these types of relationships, let alone that I'm your secret wife. I must know these things to adjust to you since you are famous and your name is always in the line."

Jimin's cheeks flustered. He thought that Y/N was just curious. He realized that Y/N just wanted to catch up to him. "Well. Should I tell you everything?"

"I'm your wife. We have a shared reputation now." Y/N smiled at him.

"I guess your reputation is higher than mine. You're a professor after all." Jimin giggled.

"Yes I know." Y/N made a sly smile. "Come on. Tell me everything."

"Okay okay." Jimin sat comfortably in the couch and looked at Y/N's eyes. "We met at an after-party of an awards night. Since we have connections, we contacted each other quite often." Jimin sighed. "I had a lame excuse of going out with my friends but in reality after eating dinner, I'll make a quick visit to her complex."

Y/N nodded. She was pained inside but still smiling on the outside.

"It was like that for a year and a half but every moment that I had with her was full of bliss." Jimin subconsciously smiled. "I can tolerate a month without her but everytime we part was harder than anyone can imagine. We went out to restaurants and amusement parks in disguise. We go to different countries and places undetected. We would exchange handwritten letters using codenames and such. We would exchange gifts via assistant to assistant and she'll tell me how much she loved all of the gifts I sent her. During events and awards, we would exchange glances as if we were complete strangers. It was really frustrating and fascinating at the same time. Every time I saw her my heart jumps out of its ribcage. It should feel like we were fooling other people, but in reality what I was feeling was we were fooling ourselves. There were times we got jealous but we'll shake that off. She said she's just too jealous of the rest of the Bangtan." Jimin took a deep breath. "There. I told you everything." He didn't told Y/N everything.

Y/N was crying inside. Jimin was smiling so hard. "What happened?"

"We got caught by her agency saying that if people knew about our relationship her life would be at stake saying that if I wasn't too famous, they'll let us. My agency told me that it would destroy my career and all of BTS. Which was true in most cases... After a month since we decided to leave our relationship behind, I heard from close friends that she was dating someone from her agency. I know it could just be a rumor but even Taehyung and Jungkook knew about it. I was depressed for some time and dedicated my time writing songs about the pain I've gone through." Jimin almost shed a tear.

Y/N was frozen in place. That's why she felt the hurt in one of Jimin's songs. In reality, it was her personal favorite and it was the break-up song Jimin wrote for a girl that is not her.

"A few weeks after, I received a letter from my parents. I got a little confused. The text was written in sino-korean but it has a small hanggul text under it." Jimin's hand formed into a fist.

"I received that letter too. Both languages isn't even my native tongue." Y/N replied. She looked at his hands that were clenched in anger.

"Really? But you speak it very well.

Going back... That I am forced to marry you and they informed me that you still don't know that you'll be married to me yet. I was sad and shocked. I repulsed that letter. I burned that letter. It had a copy of the hundred signatures of our ancestors. I hated it. It's like they're long dead but they still had control over my life." Y/N did the same when she knew she was to be arranged. She did not know yet that she'll be arranged to Jimin.

"It took me four months to decide. My mom actually asked me personally about it saying that it will only just be a paper marriage but I knew it wasn't the case. She handed me papers about the marriage contract and the hundreds of years old documents about it. I had to google every single sino-korean character. Deim. It sucks. I read every single document and it wasn't just a paper marriage. It was a merger of multi-national companies and our marriage was its symbolic ceremony." Jimin looked at Y/N intensely.

"I read that too. It's like I was planned." Y/N sighed.

Silence fell between the two.

"Can you tell me your story Y/N. I wanted to know more about you."

*Inside Y/N's head: I thought you were just going to drop by?*

Y/N looked at Jimin, "I was born poor and was raised poor."

Jimin was confused.

Inside his head: Hey isn't Y/N a rich girl? Her father is an owner of a multinational corporation. It was in his profile that he has two daughters and one son and Y/N was the second daughter.

"I thought I was just a simple girl with an unknown father. Everytime I look at my birth certificate, I was lost." Y/N took deep breaths.

Jimin looked at Y/N with sad eyes.

Y/N continued. "I did part-time work just to get me through high school and college. After graduation, I received a call. Saying congratulations dear daughter, welcome to the family. Inside my head was like what the ----, was my life a joke? Was I just I just can't explain it. Later that night, my mom confessed that I was an illegitimate child of an owner of a multinational corporation. Anger flooded me. That he contacted me after all the struggles I faced like I don't know!!!!??? I barely ate to accomplish projects and I barely had money to purchase books I need for my studies and then all along I was a daughter of a rich man who never even visited his daughter once?" Y/N started to tear up.

It was the first time she opened up to a person about her life. She never mistakenly tell about her true identity and life to anyone. People would say, hey your name sounds like Mr. ----- 's daughter. She would shake them off telling that she is someone else. Jimin hugged her and was shocked by her life story.

"When I saw my father, I couldn't even look at him in the face." Y/N's face as filled with anger.

"What did he told you? Did he apologized?" Jimin asked.

"No. He didn't even feel any guilt about it. He just told me about his life story. Telling me that for him to enter college he went to different part-time jobs and that struggles formed him to become one of the richest man in the world. He was so proud of me. He said. It didn't even registered to me. I was angry. Why would he be so proud at me? He didn't even sypported me once? " Y/N started crying. "He offered me a good life if I will promise him that I'm going to be the heir of the company. He told me that he will marry my mom and that will take away the disgrace my mother mustered through the years. I did not agreed at first but he made my life miserable. He called different schools and universities to reject my applications. I gave up when I realized that we had no money for food and that we were sinking in debt. I affirmed his offer and became his official daughter. My birth certificate is complete though but I felt like I was a robot. After two years, I received the same letter. I burned the letter too after reading it. I was so angry and so bitter and I don't know what to think about. I had a an older sister but she secretly married the day before my graduation. It was so ironic. I feel so trapped. It feels like I was accepted as a member of the family because I was going to be arranged." Y/N cried her heart out. The pain she felt was too much.

Jimin couldn't find the words to comfort her and he hugged her so tight. Jimin kissed Y/N's forehead and lightly comforted Y/N as she cried.

"My father contacted me and he said that if I didn't agree with the marriage, he'll use all his power to do so. And he did." Y/N wiped her tears away.

"What happened?" Jimin asked.

"He pulled out every book that I written out of bookstores. He was ready to call the university that I was working in to fire me without any mercy."

"Like a puppet." He told her.

Y/N nodded. "Yes and as long as I do what he says I can freely do anything I want. He told me the that I will be married off to a man and it would be just symbolic but I also know it wasn't what it seemed. I'm not ready to become a mother yet. What would happen if they'll see me walking around with a huge belly, saying who is the child's father? My marriage is even in secret. How would they understand? I'm not ready."

"Me too." Jimin was still shocked about Y/N's life. He married someone with conviction and determination. His heart flustered thinking about the newly earned respect he had for her.

"Y/N."

"Yes?"

"I respect you more than ever. I mean being to hurdle such feats are amazing." Jimin was amazed.

"Thanks. I didn't realize that this is the first time that I have ever confessed about my life to anyone." Y/N hugged Jimin again.

"Really?"

"Even my closest friends do not know me for real. My students only know that I like K-pop and nothing else." Y/N laughed.

"So you like K-pop huh?"

"A bit."

"Hmmmm. I thought I saw you before... Y/N." Jimin puts a hand on his chin and eyed Y/N.
