13 A hard week at the Palace

How did this even happen??

There must've been some mishap to trigger this event.

Usually, the wolfsbane doesn't provoke itself and release the poisonous dust by itself. Someone, out of the wolves must've done the mischief.

I have to find the culprit quickly.

I relax my hand and let it slump to my side and look around for the child's mother. I catch her running towards our direction and I hand her baby to herself, looking at the King next. Walking towards his direction, I bow and say,

"Your majesty, if you will allow me, I'll go find the culprit who has triggered the wolfsbane right now." I keep a hand on my chest and request for his permission. Well, I would've done it all by myself but I'm at the palace now. I probably am not allowed to take in a single breath in before the king approves of it.

"Y-yes. Yes, please do." I knit my brows at the King's stutter, but allow myself to be summoned by the elements. My wolf red eyes glow all four colors representing the fire, air, water and earth. My body glows a powerful golden and I levitate in the air before shooting myself across the air at sonic speed.

The culprit must not be too far from here. They even might be here in the palace's vicinity. I scan through everything I can lay my eyes on. From the bushes to the rooftops, and everything in between.

The palace is much, much bigger than I've anticipated. It's vast and full of gardens and greenery everywhere. Seems to me that the King likes to stroll in his gardens a little too much. And coming to gardens, why would the palace even have the most deadliest plant which could kill half of the palace residents in one disaster anyway? That's the craziest thing I've found about the palace until now.

Aha!

I dive onto the ground and land right in front of the panicked little culprits who are clad in black. Typical criminals I'd say.

"Well, well. Looks like you're in trouble~"

_

"Your majesty. These are the mischief makers behind the accident from before." I say and present the king with the criminals. I flick my wrist in the air and the three little musketeers of misbehavior and they fall to the ground with a thud.

They groan collectively and start to scram around on the carpet but the loud, commanding scream of the King silences them. They're on their knees and clueless on the floor as the guards surround the three with spears.

"Sire...they don't smell like wolves to me..."

"Me neither, my lord." The two guards state their observations about the culprits.

Exactly.

"These three right here my lord..." I pause and take a turn around them, making them panic visibly.

"...they're wizards." I say. Once in all, the court members gasp in shock.

Witches and wizards are hardly seen amongst werewolves and vampire societies, though changes are high in the vampire society. They usually prefer living in the dark woods, out of human or any specie's touch.

Loners, they truly are. In their own world they thrive and survive whilst gaining strength and powers from the darkness lurking around them.

The three wizards have their heads held down in shame as the King orders the Council to extract the truth out from them. Though, I could do it myself. But I'll let the professionals do their job for now. I'll step into the rink once they've summoned me or have failed to draw out the truth behind the mischief.

"So..." The King steps down back again and stands in front of me. It was humorous how he was a bit shorter than me, and if I'm not mistaken, Jane's eye smile was inherited from her father.

"Not a nice day eh? How about you stay at the palace for a little while? Maybe a bit of a week?" he asks me, his hand resting on my shoulder. His gaze holds some sort of expectancy. And of course, I couldn't have said no to his suggestion.

"Certainly, your majes—"

"Uh uh." he cuts me off, shaking a finger in front of my face.

"That's father to you, son. Consider me as your father from now on, as I see you as my son since you're my lovely daughter's mate." I widen my eyes, but bow down to him politely before continuing to smile. My gaze wanders around in the room and sets on Jane.

She's being the absolute cutest.

She's much fidgety and is blushing under my gaze, and I know she's sensing me. I happily scoff before snapping myself out of it when I hear the Queen clearing her throat.

"I'm watching you, mister."

Wow.

It's going to be hard in here.

For a week...
