SELENE POV
Tears fall down my cheeks and were about to wipe them when Martha holds my hand.
"It's okay to cry, I guess you need it...." I suddenly felt the feeling of being human when Martha whispered to my ears while holding my hand.
Tears fall down my face and I burst into tears I can't help it, after being abandoned by the normal life I have, finally, the feeling of being found by Martha's warm hand makes me feel weak like a human who also needs care.
Minutes pass I rested my head on Martha's lap, I never feel relaxed and light my whole life, I hug her waist for some reason and that was the first I fell asleep like a human.
As I open my eyes I am still hugging Martha's waist in the middle of the night, I check the clock and its already 3 am,
Martha fell asleep leaning her back at the edge of the couch, I slowly lift her in a bridal style and flew all the way from the 1st floor to the second floor and put Martha on my bed, I can't help but stare at Martha's beautiful face, I can't deny that this lady is so special, she hit the hardest part of my heart that I never allowed anyone but only her.
I poured a cup of blood since Martha is sleeping beside me, I need to have control of my vampire needs, every time I look at Martha, something inside me is fighting, a tiny emotion that is new to me which I used to suppress but in Martha's case, I find it hard to do.
MARTHA POV
I don’t know where Ms. Selene had her lunch though I don’t have the right to ask, what I don’t understand is that I thought we already have this kind of closeness after that night, and now she has gone back to the old same bitchy attitude!
Every time I think about that night, I can't erase the fact why I did that, I mean I touch Ms. Selene’s face, and the way I said those words, I can't even recognize myself, I have this kind of concern for her which is I never had with anyone.
"Earth to Martha!" Valerie shouts at me while I am in the middle of my thoughts.
"Why so serious? Loosen up!" she said while eating her food.
“Sorry, I was just wondering how can I still manage to work with Ms. Selene, I mean it is really hard to deal with her sometimes,” I said then pout.
"That’s cute.. I mean about Ms. Selene, well she’s not a people’s person, I was actually surprised when she talks to you, normally she tends to ignore people even her last secretary, even us, she will just talk to us if it is needed” she explained, so meaning they were just wind for Ms. Selene.
“Anyway, about our planned dinner, I guess I can make it later since Ms. Selene doesn’t have an important matter to attend today, I mean her schedule is only until 6 pm,” I explained.
"Good so it’s a date!” she said with a smile, I know it’s just a joke since I crack it as a joke to her once but coming from her makes it feel a little different.
To be honest, Valerie is super sweet, how she compliments me, sometimes I feel like I want to enjoy it but Nah! I can't do that.
It is not that I’m not in favour of LGBT but I never see myself being part of it or having a romantic attachment to a female, if that happens, Good luck to me!
SELENE POV
I and Gust are talking at the helipad area of my building.
"The Bloody moon Eclipse appeared at certain coordinates, specific latitudes and longitudes at that time, it was the year 1993, the core light was headed to Pampanga’s location" Gust explained.
"At least we have our leads, have a specific detail as much as possible," I said.
"Copy that, So how is Martha under your cruelness?" Gust teases me
"Coping, so far she manages to close her eyes at my siesta feast," I said while staring at the sun while the wind blows onto my hair
"What!? You already did that? Poor Martha, she's been a trap by your sexual session! Damn you Sen! “Gust exclaimed and I chuckled at his reaction
"She’ll get used to it in time, if not then...." I suddenly stop since I can't find the words to say.
Gust noticed it; it is the first time that the word "killing" makes it difficult for me to say.
"Well I hope it won’t get to that, I can sense that Martha is more than what we expected and she’s always been special in her own way, I believe you’re aware of that" Gust said looking straight at the Sky
"Let’s see..." I said then cross my arms while enjoying the wind.
Gust bid his goodbye to go back to the field then jump from building to building in a quick move.
I head my way back to the office and I saw Martha with Valerie
I focus myself to be able to listen to them
"Okay look, I’m not being pushy or what, but yeah, I like you the first time I laid my eyes on you and yes to answer your curiosity, I’m a lesbian," Valerie said, I was stunned by what I heard, Valerie falls for the same gender, I had cunnilingus for sometimes before and I even enjoy it but falling for the same gender is out of the book.
"Ahmm, well thank you for liking me, you’re the first who said that to me, but I enjoy this friendship, Val," Martha said which makes me smile in victory for some reason that I don't know.
"I understand, I’ll give you time, for now, I can be your friend Mar," Valerie said.
"For the first time, I feel like I want to suck all her blood until she’s bone and skin left" I mumbled to myself pertaining to Valerie and I felt my tempered uproar.
I walk towards my office and wait for Martha to get in.
"Hi Ma’am, have you taken your lunch?" Martha asks
I remain looking at her and I can see the confusion drawn all over her face.
Martha was about to go to her table when I speak
"Have you had any Boyfriend?" I ask
I can see the shock all over her face
"Ahmm, May I know why you’re asking me that Ma’am?" she asks back
"Nothing, it’s just, you look innocent on that subject," I said while assessing Martha's reaction
"Well, I don’t have any boyfriend, just mere crushes and admiration" Martha shyly said.
"So, what is your qualification if ever?” I ask again that makes it awkward for her
"Ahmm, what is this question for, if you don’t mind ma’am?" Martha said
"Am I hitting your personal space?" I ask
“No ma’am, but, I mean I haven’t think of that ever since,” Martha said and start to blushed in awkwardness
"Oh I see, you’ve never been in love....just a sort of advice, not everyone who throw you a flower or even give you the sweetest words can be trusted, flowers may have thorns, words may tell lies, so just be careful, that’s all, you can go
back to work" I explained then focus myself on the monitor
I know that what I did was out of my usual, I actually don't understand myself sometimes or why I have this unease feeling towards Valerie's intention for Martha.
MARTHA POV
I was really shocked by Ms. Selene’s sudden question, out of nowhere, she asks me that kind of question and I was caught off guard.
I secretly gaze at her like an idiot when she caught me! Dang!
"Something wrong Martha?" she confusingly asks
"Ahmm nothing ma'am," I said.
My heart almost dropped when she suddenly look at me and caught me sneaking a gaze on her.
It is almost 15 minutes left before our work ends and I am still thinking about the dinner with Valerie, damn, how can I tell Ms. Selene about it! I mean, why am I feeling this way like I need to have her consent though my errands is personal in the first place, haiiist!
I have no choice since it is almost time, I need to tell Ms. Selene that I have some personal appointments.
"Maam, I just have a dinner to attend to tonight, I may not be able to with you in the car going home” I explained.
She just looks at me for seconds then stands up, grabs her coat and bag and just passes me by going to the elevator.
I choose not to ride the same elevator with her since I will go to Valerie’s office first so we can both go to her place.
While walking towards Valerie's office, Ms. Selene’s words linger on my mind, I get her point, I know what she is trying to say though about her question, I don’t know why she was suddenly curious about it? Hmmm..
Still in the middle of questioning myself, I am now standing at Ms. Valerie’s office; I just knock and get in.
I try to just throw away sometimes all of Ms. Selene’s words and just enjoy myself with my newfound friend.
