SELENE POV

I always take my meal with sex, or sometimes before that, I manage to have sexual intercourse with any man I want, I never let myself get emotionally attached with anyone, and in my entire vampire life, I never had any romantic relationship.

After a few minutes I fix myself preparing to go home, when I got out of my room to look for Martha, she is not on her table.

I check on Martha's table and she left a note

I’m at Miss Valerie's office ma’am to fix your schedule – Martha

I walk towards Valerie's office and I heard Martha's laugh.

She seems to enjoy Valerie’s company huh….hmmmm

I notice that she is enjoying herself talking to Valerie which I hate, I don’t know why I don’t like that scene though it is natural that she should make friends. Damn!

I don’t understand but listening to them makes me feel pissed for an unknown reason then I open Valerie's office and they were stunned to see me standing at the door still holding the knob.

"Oh Ms. Selene, Is there anything you need ma’am?" Valerie asks seemingly not aware that I will be here.

"Of course, I need my secretary now!" I said wearing a pissed face looking at them.

Confusion is drawn all over their faces about my sudden anger.

Upon closing the door I can sense that Martha takes her step going out of Valerie's office and follow me when Valerie calls her.

"Hey Mar, dinner at my place don’t forget," Valerie said that makes me feel pissed even more, I really don’t know where does this hate comes from! Dang!

"It’s a date! hahaha," Martha replied while laughing then run towards my back.

Still wearing her smile, I can see the surprise on her face seeing me in crossed arms waiting for her before entering my office.

I have these unease feeling knowing that those two is having dinner together, I don't understand why I am so affected by

it, is it because I never had this sort of thing aside from being on the run with Gust?

Having a friendship with someone.

Then I enter my office with Martha at my back.

"I hope you already fix what you need to fix with Valerie," I said in a serious tone while preparing my bag going home.

"Yes, ma’am, your meeting with Chansze Corporation is already set on Wednesday.” She proudly said

"No need to remind me that, just tell me a day before, besides you’re with me on that meeting," I said then head myself out of the office.

Martha hurriedly gets her things and follows me, upon getting in the elevator she asks me something.

"Maam, am I still need to go to your house today?" she asked

"Unless you have important things to do?" I asked her back

"Nothing ma’am my time is already set going with you." short reply from Martha

"Good, let’s go home then," I said then head our way to the parking lot

MARTHA POV

I was inside Ms. Valerie’s office when Ms. Selene came, we are actually surprised when she appeared, she seems pissed seeing me talking and laughing with Ms. Valerie, well I finished my work early so I thought it is the right time to fix things with Ms. Valerie about the schedule of Chansze.

Ms. Valerie is really nice and jolly, she is fun to talk to and so we laugh all throughout the time, it is not hard to get close to her so far she is the first person here I get close with, she even invites me to have dinner on her place tomorrow and so I am planning to have an approval with Ms. Selene especially if we don’t have any schedule tomorrow.

Then she appeared at the door looking pissed, she said she needs me and so I follow her going back to her office, aside from looking pissed, she is very serious now even when she got her bag, I was wondering what seems to be the problem,

I remember the thing between her and Mr. Monzon earlier, I mean is something happen that makes her like this? Geez, I just don’t like interfering with someone’s personal errands.

Upon getting in the car, I can sense her sadness mixing with seemingly pissed emotion about something which I don’t know.

I secretly looking at her face, wearing those sad eyes, it makes me want to caress her face and make her feel that I can be a friend to her though it will never be going to happen, it is not in her personality to have closed with others or making friends like Ms. Valerie.

When we get to their house, the head maid says her greetings along with the other maids, they help Ms. Selene with her bag and other things.

Then Ms. Selene commands them to stop the chores and have their rest at their quarters, I am now wondering who will cook our dinner? Damn! I am really hungry! Huhuhu..

“Ahmm, Ma’am, I guess you should be eating your dinner now,” I said but she didn’t even throw a look at me or even hear what I am saying, she is just sitting quietly at her couch with her legs at the top of the table.

I just ignore the way she ignores what I said and just sit quietly as well at the couch in front of her, I am actually feeling bored since it is almost an hour since we arrive from the office.

“If you would like I can cook dinner for you,” I said since I am now really bored and hungry!

"You are hungry, but you are so busy having a chit-chat with Valerie" She responded that surprised me.

Whoa…is she mad and pissed because of that? Geez, I really don’t understand her sometimes!

Hmmm.. So she has this childish attitude huh….hahaha that makes me laugh!

“Ahmm, so far she is the first person I got closed within the office and she is so nice..” I said that I guess makes her pissed even more… damn if she is a man I could tell she is jealous of Valerie!

"Don’t get too complaisant with people Martha especially to those whom you just met" she said with a very serious tone,

I get the part where she doesn’t have any friends or she has a huge trust issue but for God's sake, I can be friends and trust people anytime I want!

Seeing her like that isn’t a good sign to talk about my dinner with Ms. Valerie…sigh!

I choose not to say anything; I just nod at her and then remain silent.

Then silence surrounds us again for 30 minutes, then she picks up her phone and starts dialling.

"I want to order two Hawaiian burgers, two large fries and two chicken meals with rice,” she said talking to someone on the phone, so she orders food instead of cooking huh…hmmph! That will be the last I will offer myself to cook for someone!

"They will deliver the food soon; just receive it when it arrives," she said then walk towards the staircase going up to her room I guess.

I just rolled my eyes at her, Grrrr! That woman really has an attitude problem! She has this ultimate bitchy personality! A real-life queen bitch! She will not respond to a question if she doesn’t like even it is important, she will walk away without saying anything, the biggest negative vibes personality I have ever met!, if only I can choose to have a much more likely happy job I’d rather be there than working for her, but what can I do, I don’t have a choice but to do this, I don’t have millions to pay her though… haiiiist!

After 45 minutes, the order arrives then Ms. Selene suddenly appeared on the stairs to go down, I didn’t even notice her walking out of her room.

She is just wearing a short and loose white shirt, she really looks simple now, she looks different when she wears that formal attire for work than wearing these simple attire.

She walks towards me and sits on the floor like I was expecting she will sit on the couch with her legs on the table but instead she does the Indian sit on the floor then pull the fries, burger and chicken towards her.

I just remain sitting on the couch eating my burger while staring at her, she is like a kid who enjoyed eating her lunch on the floor, I can see how relaxed she is right now than being a boss sitting at her swivel chair.

She almost consumes her food in just a minute, wtf!? Is she that hungry? I thought I was the one who drooled for the food; now look at her, she looks like a beggar who just eats after a month!

I just ignore her instead and roamed my eyes around the house, like as expected, she has this classy and old-style though unlike her office she has a picture frame with Gust on her side, and speaking of Gust I didn’t hear anything from him since we got from the office.

“So, where is Mr. Gust? I haven’t seen him since we got from the head office” I ask since he is been missing all through this time, I mean he is very nice to me and a friend I can have aside from Ms. Valerie

“I ordered him to do things, so he won't be around for some time, meaning all your questions should be answered by me, why? Do you need anything from him?” she explained and I was surprised by her sudden question though I don’t have any particular question for him I just wanted to see him coz his presence makes me feel comfortable especially right now that Ms. Selene’s gesture is very unpredictable!

I don’t know if she is mad at me or if she still pissed about my friendship with Ms. Valerie.

“Oh, it's nothing! I just, well he is my friend as well and your cousin so, I thought he will be here with us” I explain and she just stares at me then pick up the envelope she is holding earlier.

I get the gesture that we are done with our dinner even I am not yet done eating my burger, I just cleaned the table and she opened a bottle of wine then poured it into the glass then sit on the couch and then face me holding the envelope.

“So, the first rule, you will be with me anytime, we will go to the office together, all your activities and personal errands should be known first by me, I am not strict regarding your rest day or emergency leave as long as you will inform me ahead of time or right away so my schedule will not be compromised, second, you will only be the one who will know my whereabouts especially if I can't be at the office, all my personal events and occasion that I need to attend to should know first by you and I will only be the one to tell you if you can disclose it to anyone even to the boards or department head, third, I don’t want you to be out of my sight or be missing especially if I need you like having a chit chat with anyone in the middle of work! Fourth, I will let you enter my room at the office unless I say so, and fifth…stay with me as long as I need you” she explained with a very serious tone, I don’t know if she is already drunk or tipsy coz of the wine she is been drinking while explaining.

"yes ma’am noted” I just simply respond then silence surrounds us again, then I come up with a question

"Ahmm.. ma’am, can I ask you a personal question?" I said

"Go ahead," she said

"hmm, any plans of settling down? Plans of loving someone?" I ask, I know I shouldn’t ask this question but all I can see in her eyes is sadness, she has this pain inside that keeps reflecting in her eyes, maybe because she doesn’t have any family other than Gust.

She didn’t respond but she drinks every drop of her wine.

“It’s okay if you don’t like to answer, I shouldn’t ask you that in the first place though, I was just worried about you for some reason,” I said without even thinking what I am saying, damn!!

While I am fighting with myself, I was surprised when she suddenly speak.

"Worry about?" she asked

“The sadness in your eyes, even if you smile or you laugh, I can see that within you, there is something there, the mixture of pain and hurt, I am not being a smart ass, but I am worried about your sadness, I have that kind of sadness too but I know I can handle it, but you, I feel like you are not fighting it, you are entertaining it instead..” I seriously explain.

As of now, her face is really close to mine, we were an inch away, her eyes is already devoured by the alcohol, she is staring at me, her eyes is like a knife piercing me through, though pain and sadness are still arounds it, I can’t help myself but to touch her face.

I can see that she closed her eyes when I touch her face, then a small tear suddenly formed in her eyes. She was about to wipe it but I stop her by holding her hand.

"It's okay to cry, I guess you need it...." I didn’t know I was able to say that, right now all I can feel is her sadness.

Tears fall down her cheeks while I am caressing her face, she is just staring at my eyes, then a few tears turn into sad whining, I can hear her whine so I hug her and let her cry her heart out.

After a few minutes, she is rested her head on my lap while crying until she fell asleep.
