Double trouble

"Well, well. What do we have here?"

Our heroes turn around and see a group of trolls, each one uglier than the last one.

"Aren't they the busybodies?" one of them says.

"Yes, boss. Those are the ones who got into a fight where they weren't invited," another says.

"I know, stupid. It's a way of talking," the first one scolds him and hits him on the head.

It seems that the trolls are from the Shaktila clan, the clan that fought with the gargoyle clan, Rugarith.

"Do we know you?" Eva asks, trying to provoke them.

Lucien takes a step forward as if he's implying that if the trolls want to attack them, they'll have to fight him first.

Isabel, well, she is excited because she will finally be able to show that she deserves to be with them by fighting together.

"Don't provoke them. Remember that if you are seen fighting outside the Arena once you are already inscribed, you will be disqualified and you will not be able to participate in it," Leah says.

Eva turns towards her and sarcastically says, "Could you say it louder? I don't think they heard you."

"Ha, ha, ha. That's a good idea. Guys, let's get them," the leader of the Shaktila group says.

At the command of their leader, the group of trolls raise their weapons (wooden clubs with nails in them) and releasing a battle cry, they launch themselves against our heroes.

Our heroes get into an attacking position: Leah starts reciting protection spells, Eva pulls out her double daggers and Lucien prepares to change at any moment.

However, before they can do anything, the trolls, who were charging against them, freeze. Literally frozen.

The trio gets up from their attack position and looks at each other confused. What happened? Leah, the only one with magical powers, cannot do that because her powers are related to fire, not to ice.

As if the three of them had the same idea, they turn in unison to see Isabel, who is holding a gun. When Isabel realizes that they are looking at her, she brings the gun close to her mouth and blows it.

Lucien and Leah shake their heads, and Eve hits her head with the palm of her hand in disbelief.

"Qué?[1]"Isabel asks, confused.

"You are the one who lives here and yet you have forgotten that it is forbidden to shoot with guns in Dhismiar!" Eva says, mad.

"Oh, mierda[2]!" Isabel says when she realizes it.

"Hey, you," a voice seems to be calling them out.

When they turn around, they see a group of men dressed wearing very long black jackets, and with a sullen face.

"Is that a gun? Guns are forbidden," one of them says again. He seems to be the leader.

"Oh, mierda. Run!" Isabel says as she starts to run.

The trio starts running after her, and then the group of black men starts chasing them.

"Hey! Don't run away! Stop in the name of the law!" the leader of the men in black's group says.

"Law? What law? In this city chaos is the one who rules," Eva says as they continue to run.

"Who are those?" asks Leah.

"They're Nolos," Isabel says.

"Nolos?" Leah asks.

"Sí, since there is no police force in Dhismiar, a few years ago Nolos appeared: Non-Official Law Officers. They are known to punish, see killed, all those who break the laws of Dhismiar," Isabel explains.

"If so, they must know that they themselves are breaking the laws of Dhismiar," Leah says.

"Tell them. Maybe they'll listen to you," Eva says, pointing to the group man in black still chasing them. "Oh, wait. They won't understand because they're as dumb as that name they've given themselves," she yells the last part, to infuriate them.

"Behave, don't provoke them," Lucien reminds her.

"Oh, sorry, all mighty furry-boy. By the way, wouldn't you have to stop and make them stop?"

"Why would I do that? One must learn to choose one's battles. Besides... it's more fun to chase you," he says, winking at you.

Eva snorts and Leah and Isabel giggle.

"You can't run forever," one of the men in black says.

"Prepare to bear the consequence of running from us," another one says.

Our heroes giggle, but they keep running. In fact, they sped.

After running for a long time, they have finally been able to escape from the men in black.
