Checking the Rugarith brothers

The next morning, after breakfast, they decide to stop by Arlor's room, to see how Valzun is doing, before going to the Arena.

This time, the gargoyle butler takes them to a bedroom where they can see Valzun laying in his bed and his brother, Arlor, sitting at one side of the bed as he reads through some documents.

The room is quite big. Apart from the huge bed where Valzun is laying and Arlor chair's next to the bed, there are two armchairs and a sofa for welcoming guests, a mirror, and two doors. One of the doors might lead to a walk-in-dresser or bathroom. The other one is a mystery, for now.

"Sir, they are here," the butler says as he approaches his master.

Arlor raises his eyes from the papers.

"Hm. Take them to the side room," he says as he looks to his brother.

The group follows the butler to another room connected to Valzun's bedroom by a door.

The side room is just a bureau, with walls full of shelves with books, two sofas, a desk, and a chair. Through the window, you can see how Dhismiar is waking up and getting busy.

"Thank you for coming," says Arlor, as he enters to the room.

Then, with a movement of his hand, he indicates to his guests that they can sit wherever they want.

"Well, I suppose that our fighter has told you what she did for me at the Arena yesterday," he says as he points to Eva.

"Yes, she told us. But, how did you two communicate? And if you were so worried about your brother, why did you let him participate?" Leah asks as Isabel nods to her words.

"Well, remember when your breakfast was delivered a couple of days ago? I just had to put a tiny piece of paper with an enchantment so that only she could read it.

"But Leah is like a walking database for enchantments. She should be able to detect it, shouldn't she?" Isabel asks as Leah nods to her words.

"She may be 'that', whatever it means, but this kind of enchantment is different."

Hearing this sent a shiver down Leah's spine. She can imagine what kind of enchantment may it be, and she wonders from where did Arlor get it. Not only they are forbidden but using them always comes with a price for the person that does the enchantment. One thing is for sure, Arlor is really a doting brother if he is able to go to such extremes for Valzun.

"And for the second question... Well... He's my little brother. If he wants to participate in a fight to death, I won't stop him from entering. But that doesn't mean I won't do anything to prevent from getting hurt."

Our heroes can only say one thing to this statement: 'what a dotting brother!'

"I would like to compensate you for this favor."

"You could tell us what the second round will be," Leah suggests as Isabel nods to her words.

"I wish I could. It's a secret. Even I, one of the big leaders, don't know. Only the host knows it, and, well, you know how is this year."

The group nods, remembering that birdfolk jerk.

"However, if you need anything else, you know where to find me. I will do whatever is needed to fulfill our request. Well, as long as it is possible," Arlor says, getting up from the chair behind the desk and heading to the main door.

The group follows him, and after saying goodbye, they first go to their suite to pick the things they need, and then they head to the Arena for the second round.

Hello, my beloved readers. Did you miss me? I've been busy with work (I have two jobs) and studies, so I didn't have time to write.
