Reischneid and Lucifius disappeared in a flash and already began to clash with the people behind the waves of civilians wearing black robes and the blood puppets.
『We'll take care of distracting these guys while you clean up the masses!』[Reischneid]
Nova and Mune went ahead with their idea.
『Sir Fluffles! Go easy on the people with the weird outfits!』[Nova]
『Kitsu! We're going!』[Mune]
Sir Fluffles flew out and bounced between the civilians, tackling them and knocking them down with his tail.
『I've got it, Nova!』[Sir Fluffles]
Kitsu yipped, sending blue wisps into the crowd, seemingly mesmerizing them and causing them to fall over.
Nova conjured a simple shortsword before thrusting his hand up at a wave of blood puppets.
『Blessed Flame Rebirth!』[Nova]
Nova sent blue flames flying through the wave of new blood puppets, causing them to extinguish and dissolve.
As he burnt down these puppets, the voice whispered in his ear.
『...Come… Borrow my power… I'll make sure they rest...』
His heart pounded faster, wondering why he decided to even come home.
He murmured quietly in response.
『...No. I can..』[Nova]
Nova felt something cold and lifeless in the voice.
「It's… an empty entity. There's no desire for anything in it… Just the want for death and destruction...」[Nova]
The voice continued to whisper gently into Nova's ears.
『...I promise you the ability to win… All I ask of you is to put those you fight to eternal rest...』
Nova's eyes shot open.
He stopped conversing with the voice.
「I'm not going to kill anyone… enemy or not.」[Nova]
『Nova! It's time to regroup with Lucifius and your guardian!』[Mune]
Nova looked around and found that all the humans were on the floor, incapacitated already.
『Right!』[Nova]
Reischneid and Lucifius were battling off the 4 "Pillars" and Yudola.
Grynzael, the big tanned monster of a man used the technique where he seemed to instantly teleport around to block any of Reischneid's and Lucifius' attacks from landing on the other Pillars.
Reischneid and Lucifius held their attacks back so that they wouldn't kill any of them, but Grynzael was much tougher than their intended targets.
Meanwhile, Shereil- the schoolgirl with a giant sword, swung at them, causing them some trouble.
To top it off, it seemed like Eudin- the blonde boy with a bow, was harassing them with a constant stream of arrows that he would conjure out of thin air.
『...Troublesome. Can we not put these people to rest?』[Lucifius]
『No, Cif! These ones aren't puppets.』[Reischneid]
Reischneid suddenly raised his hand up at Eudin.
『Bind!』[Reischneid]
Orange chains shot out of the ground and wrapped around him.
『Orange... chains?!』[Eudin]
Eudin struggled to find a way to escape the orange chains.
Nova stared at the color of the chains in amazement.
Reischneid looked over and saw the amazed look before breaking out into a smile.
『...I need to teach Nova about this later.』[Reischneid]
Yudola overheard and had a blank expression on her face.
『...They're toying with us?』[Yudola]
She gripped the shaft of her feather knife, seemingly getting angry.
Her gray eyes seemed to get darker, staring down her enemies.
『...Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill.』[Yudola]
Her nails dug into her hands, causing them to bleed.
『WULETTE! DO IT!』[Yudola]
The shorter girl with brown braided hair and a wand that looked similar to a plastic toy nodded.
『...What is she going to do with a little girl with a plastic wand? Real wands don't do much, let alone fake ones...』[Lucifius]
Reischneid seemed to disagree, as he seemed to get on guard.
『...No. This girl might be...』[Reischneid]
The girl pointed the wand at them before an overwhelming strength seemed to start to crush them.
『...Gngh?! So much… mana?!』[Lucifius]
He was forced on his knees by the overwhelming mana that crushed down on him.
Reischneid did a better job of bracing himself, still standing nearby to Lucifius.
『...Lucifius! Force your mana upward, and-』[Reischneid]
Lucifius interjected before Reischneid could even finish.
『The mana here is too dense! My current state without infusement is too weak to push this mana out of the way! If I was prepared, this would be a different story..!』[Lucifius]
Lucifius gritted his teeth.
『Blessed Flame Rebirth!』[Nova]
Suddenly, a wave of blue flames exploded around Lucifius, allowing him to move again.
Nova stood halfway across the clearing, somehow sending flames across.
『...He's across the clearing.. How the hell did he cast that from over there?!』[Grynzael]
Reischneid looked down and saw that his blade was on fire.
『...He can proxy cast with the blade now? Then… the contract has changed.』[Reischneid]
Reischneid smirked and began to make the blade wrap around the Pillars.
『The blue flame!』[Yudola]
『...It's draining my mana!』[Grynzael]
The little girl with the toy wand seemed to embrace the flames, however.
『...It's warm...』[Wulette]
The bow pillar, sword pillar, and Yudola jumped away in time, however.
They kept running away as fast as possible, preventing Reischneid from being able to pin them down.
『Damn it! Stay still!』[Reischneid]
Eudin pulled the string back and aimed an arrow at Nova.
Nova didn't pay attention to him at all, however.
Once he let go of the arrow, it was sent flying straight at Nova, finally gaining Nova's attention.
If he let go of his spell or moved, the mana would crash down straight onto Reischneid and Lucifius again, and everyone was too far away or preoccupied to save Nova here.
So, he put all of his hopes into one last final resort.
