116 A Strange Day

Nova tried to communicate with Reischneid, as he went unnaturally quiet.

「Reischneid, is everything okay?」[Nova]

「...It might be. I don't feel the presence of that entity anymore.」[Reischneid]

The way Reischneid said entity caused Nova to feel a bit strange.

「...What was that?」[Nova]

「...Not something of this world. It doesn't belong in the world of the living, the world of the dead, or even in this plane. It's a creature that probably the Creator doesn't interact freely with.」[Reischneid]

「...And that was in my home? Why?!」[Nova]

「I… wouldn't know. I don't even know what it is, really.」[Reischneid]

『-ey, you alright?』[Mune]

Nova shook himself back to reality.

『...Yeah. But that thing that happened… what was that?』[Nova]

『...I was sent flying by a strange force. It threw me with so much strength that...』[Mune]

He raised his hand and pointed his thumb to the yard.

『....Oh my god.』[Nova]

On the ground were marks that had been a sign of Mune's body being sent flying.

There were several holes in the ground, along with a long streak of disheveled dirt, before he crashed into a wall by the road, completely destroying the wall.

『...That wall is meant to stop cars… Are you okay, Mune?』[Nova]

Mune pulled the collar of his shirt, showing how it was separated from the rest of his shirt.

『...I think I ripped my shirt, but yeah.』[Mune]

『...From the friction of you hitting the ground?』[Nova]

『Yeah. The speed it sent me at was no joke. That wasn't some strange phenomena, that was something sinister.』[Mune]

Mune did something with his hand and caused the mess to clean itself up.

『...Right. Did you want to go out to get some lunch or something? I can show you around the city.』[Nova]

『...Let me investigate your home a bit more. I'll take a quick look and we can go.』[Mune]

Nova nodded and decided to wait in the front of his apartment building, next to the wall that had just been repaired.

Mrs. Heather had come out to talk to Nova.

『Goodness! I heard a loud noise! What was that?!』[Mrs. Heather]

『Ah! Nothing at all, Mrs. Heather.』[Nova]

Nova wanted to avoid alarming anyone in the apartment.

『Ah… I see… 』[Mrs. Heather]

She nodded and began to walk back to her room on the first floor before she decided to turn around.

『Oh! Right! Have you decided whether or not you were gonna stay? I'll bring over my famous cherry crumble!』[Mrs. Heather]

『Uhm.. I'll have to think about that! Thanks though, Mrs. Heather!』[Nova]

『Mhm! Let me know, Lil' Nova!』[Mrs. Heather]

She returned to her room.

『...I'm sorry, Mrs. Heather… No way in hell am I staying in there after I saw that...』[Nova]

Nova leaned against the wall and let out a sigh.

『Somebody! Help!』

He heard a female voice screaming somewhere nearby.

「Huh?! What was that?」[Nova]

「It's in the 3 alleyways down to your right… But...」[Reischneid]

Nova already began running.

「But, nothing! I think that the entity from earlier is attacking a girl!」[Nova]

Nova pulled up into the alley and looked down, searching for the girl.

「Nova… Something feels off about this.」[Reischneid]

「I know I can't take the strange entity, but I can at least save her!」[Nova]

He ran deeper in, where he found a girl with flowing black hair, a bunny bow with a short black ponytail who was wearing a black and white striped V-neck shirt and a short black skirt.

She turned and looked over to Nova, giving him a wide smile.

『...I'm so happy!』

She turned her body and began to walk closer to him, revealing a hairclip of a star on bangs.

As she began to get even closer, her face had a creepy smile and an empty look in her eyes.

Nova mumbled to himself.

『...Something is wrong today...』[Nova]

She walked up about 10 feet away from Nova, causing him to get ready to run.

『So.. You came here to save me..? Or did you come here for… other reasons?』

The girl pulled down a zipper that was in the middle of her V-neck shirt, revealing her cleavage.

Nova stumbled back anxiously.

His face flushed and he shook his head.

『Uh.. I'm sorry! I heard a scream so-』[Nova]

Reischneid didn't let Nova finish that thought as he shouted at him.

「Nova! Run!」[Reischneid]

Nova stumbled back when Reischneid said this, allowing him to dodge an attack from the girl.

『What are you doing?!』[Nova]

She held a knife that looked like a feather, with a book being held under her arm.

『...You're my hero! You ran straight to my rescue… Let's get to know each other a bit more...』

She walked closer to him and looked through him with a creepy look that pierced into his soul.

『...Ha..Hahaha! Hahaha! Humans are such selfish creatures, aren't they?!』

The girl grabbed him by the collar.

『They're creatures of sin! Lust… Greed… If they can't get what they want… then they resort to wrath… Truly… What is the worth of a human?!』

『What… what are you doing?!』[Nova]

『I'm going to turn you into a work of art..!』

She let go of him before beginning to laugh into the sky.

『The most beautiful color of a human is the color before they die!』

She lunged at him with the feather knife.
