2 The mystery man

The whole morning, Bei Er couldn't stop thinking about her dream. As she's in her class, half of her brain was not into it.

Two periods of classes end, and it's 1pm. Bei Er went to get change for her part time job. After saying goodbye to her grandma, she went to take the train. Even though her part time job isn't that far, she would rather take the train than walk during this cold winter month.

From where Bei Er is at, it'll only take her three stops. The train started to get packed, and Bei Er stood up to give her seat to the old grandma. Because of how packed the train gets, Bei Er felt squished in between two large men.

"Excuse me, excuse me, I'm going out."

After pushing through the amount of people inside, Bei Er could finally get out and breathe.

"Never gonna take the train again," as she saids and starts walking up the stairs. She checks her wrist watch, and realizes she only has ten minutes left before she's late again.

Bei Er starts speed walking, and slowly starts running. If she's late again this time, then she'll definitely lose this job.

In front of her, there were people cleaning the street, and so took a turn to the small street.

"Gonna be late," as she took another peek at the watch. Bei Er sped up her pace, and without realizing she bumps into someone.

"I'm so sorry," as she bows and picks up her bag that fell. She didn't ask if that person was okay, and just kept running.

The person stares at Bei Er as she runs and disappears to the corner. "CEO, do you need me to get her back?" as the secretary asks.

"Let's just keep going."

The secretary nods. 'This girl is in luck or else she'll…..' as the secretary thought and continued walking behind the CEO.

Bei Er pushed the door open and arrived at the learning center. The boss gives her an unsatisfied stare. "Bei Er Chen, this is your fourth time late this month. Do you not want this job anymore? If you don't want I could easily go find another person."

Bei Er quickly bowed, and said sorry.

"It won't happen again. I really need this job, so please don't fire me." Bei Er saids with a firm voice.

The boss looks at her, and sighs. "Bei Er, I'm gonna give you this one last chance. Don't let me down."

"I won't. I promise. Thank you so much." Then Bei Er quickly went to her class. She quickly apologizes to her students and starts her lesson.

After three hours of teaching, class has finally ended. It's five pm, and outside is turning dark already. But Bei Er has to get ready for her other part time job at the cafe. Today isn't her shift, but she exchanged the date with another worker. The learning center and the cafe are only ten minutes away. Bei Er didn't have to rush, and she stopped by the post office to get her package.

"Bei Er, you finally came," as her coworker saids and helps her take her belongings to the staff room. "Sorry for making you wait. I can take over now," as Bei Er said and took the next customer in line.

*BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ*

Bei Er put her airpods on and answered her phone.

"Hello?"

"Bei Er, is your shift over yet?" as a female voice asks.

"Soon. In about five minute." Bei Er continues to finish making the drink for her customer.

"Come to my house after. I got something to give you."

Bei Er then looks at the clock on the wall, "Is it important? If not, can I come get it next time?" Then she calls the customer to get the drink. "Li Shan Shan, if it's not important then save it for next time. I'm really tired, and I still have homework to do when I get back home."

Bei Er didn't get to hear what Li Shan Shan said and the phone died. She got out her shift at 8pm, and took the train back home.

After a hot shower and some dinner, she takes out her phone to get it charged. About five minute, she sees ten missed calls from Li Shan Shan.

Bei Er then presses Li Shan Shan's number and opens it in speaker as she dries her hair.

"CHEN BEI ER!" a loud voice screams her name that she almost has to close the speaker.

"Li Shan Shan, quiet down."

"Why didn't you answer my phone calls?"

"My phone died and just now I get to call you back."

"Whatever. Tomorrow at noon comes over and I have something important to give you."

"Okay okay."

They end the call, and Bei Er sits with her laptop open. As she writes her essay, she suddenly remembers the dream from yesterday.

"How come it felt so real?" as she asks herself. But then she shakes her head, "it's just a dream. Dream doesn't come true."

She then didn't think much, and finished her last bit of homework.

It's 11pm, and she lays down with her reading app open on her phone. Bei Er didn't sleep till 2am again. She closed her phone, and went into deep sleep.

"Where are you going?" as she asks. The tall man didn't say anything and just kept walking.

"Are you leaving me?" as she asks again. The tall man stopped in his path, but didn't have his head turn. "No, I have to go fix something." He didn't explain anything else and just walked out the door.

For some reason Bei Er felt a tear about to fall down her eyes. 'What is this?' as she says to herself.

*BEEP BEEP*

Bei Er wakes up and it's morning.

"Did I have the same dream again?" as she asks herself.
