If it had been me...

"Mistress! Mistress, are you alright?!" a hoarse voice sounded as Su Wuyan's eyes struggled to open.

"That Bastard! I'll never forgive him! How dare he escape from my missus as soon as they were married?!" the voice continued to exclaim in anger.

Su Wuyan was sure that this wasn't someone she knew, and yet she found the voice very familiar.

As she opened her eyes, a middle-aged man stood before her, worry and anger filled his dark brown eyes. His countenance was rugged, as though he had been well trained and had gone through many hardships, and yet still had beautiful attractive features. In a different world, he would long have been nicknamed Mr. McDreamy by Su Wuyan.

Soon after, a flood of memories appeared in her mind as soon as she saw the man, and she now knew who he was.

This man was her caretaker, Lin Wuyi, who had always looked after her since her childhood.

"Uncle Lin... what happened?" she asked, her head muddled from the overflow of information.

"It's terrible! Miss, your husband has escaped!" he exclaimed as he clenched his fists in anger.

Su Wuyan's eyebrow lifted slightly as she processed the information. After a while, she said rather indifferently.

"And so..?"

Seeing her rather calm and indifferent attitude, Lin Wuyi was flabbergasted.

His mistress didn't get angry?

As if noticing his peculiar expression, Su Wuyan then added.

"He left me with everything. I don't have any complaints." She explained as a cold smile gradually appeared in her face.

During these few minutes, she had obtained this body's memories, and having skimmed through everything, she knew what had happened roughly.

This body's owner was also called Su Wuyan, and was a 15-year-old, recently wedded young woman. Her life had been going along just fine until she had met her husband Wen Zhixuan during her childhood.

It was love at first sight for her as she had inadvertently been saved from falling into a pond by the young Wen Zhixuan. Ever since then, she was of mind to always keep tabs on this young boy, who was the sole heir to Ming Country's throne. To the extent of following him everywhere, and sticking to him like glue.

What was supposed to be young, innocent love transgressed into obsessive love for young Su Wuyan, as she ensured nothing got in the way of acquiring her target, the crown prince Wen Zhixuan.

Every woman that got in her way, was stepped on by Su Wuyan. She was after all, a General's daughter, and a Physician's niece. No one could offend her, and no one dared to offend her, not even the crown prince himself.

But those were not the reasons why the General's house was so feared by the royals and citizens, but rather that Su Wuyan's mother was a cultivator despite never having met her.

Her mother's title as a cultivator is exactly what shielded her from danger!

However, if this person's life was so safe, then why did she die? It turns out the original Su Wuyan had died accidentally! During her wedding night, Wen Zhixuan had eloped secretly with one of her best friends, Gu Ling and had left her a letter stating how much he hated her, to the point of disgust. The letter even went on to add what they had done behind her back.

While they had not physically harmed her apart from drugging her to sleep that night, it was still an enormous humiliation that the original Su Wuyan, as the general's daughter could not tolerate. She was so heartbroken she sobbed and wailed herself in misery, unknowingly inviting trouble in. While she was busy bawling her eyes out, she slipped in the bath and hit her head. Dying instantly.

Su Wuyan was left speechless.

So this owner's original body died in such a pathetic way? What's up with this massive golden finger that is her background! Her father is the country's general, while her mother is a cultivator, and while she has never met her, she could still rely on her indirectly. Her network of connections was huge! But the most important fact was... Cultivation!

If cultivation is possible, then so is immortality.

Su Wuyan felt pity for the original owner. She died being unable to accomplish anything noteworthy.

As for the idiotic husband and bitchy best friend?

Who cares! She has a kingdom, a good family and a lot of wealth to use!

Su Wuyan smirked coldly at this thought, and began thinking through her plan in this life.

She wasn't about to let the opportunity of going back to take revenge, go so lightly!

...

Lin Wuyi was perplexed by his mistress' lack of a reaction. Having cared for this young woman since her infancy, he knew very well how short-tempered and stubborn she was. This had been the man that she had been pursuing for the past decade. Countless declarations of love, fighting rivals, going through all these hardships just so she would let him escape?

Lin Wuyi couldn't believe it. It was like his mistress had become a different person entirely!

Where was the previous short-tempered, arrogant missy of the past?!

As he was thinking this, Su Wuyan smiled and answered the questions plaguing his heart.

"Uncle Lin, I almost died just now. If it wasn't for my luck just now, I would have probably died stupidly without accomplishing anything. But I was lucky enough to survive something I could have died from, so I have decided to learn from my mistakes and not focus on only one fish in the sea." she stated, a devious glint visible in her eyes.

Lin Wuyi's attention was on her words rather than her face, so this glint went unnoticed by him as he heavily agreed with Su Wuyan's statement.

"Mistress, I completely agree! Such unworthy individuals do not deserve you! Especially not that Gu Ling that snatched your man!" he said in disgust.

"Mm."

Seeing her agree, he continued with his nitpicking. Lin Wuyi had always been very intolerant regarding the crown prince, and his resentment for Wen Zhixuan ran deep.

"If it had been me marrying the mistress, I would have put you on a pedestal and treated you right! He-" as though having realised he misspoke, he blushed slightly and coughed as though he had just choked on something.

Su Wuyan's smile deepened at Lin Wuyi's remark and rather cute behaviour, and as though seemingly having decided on something, she asked rather coquettishly.

"Uncle Lin, you're not married yet right?"
