It had been days since Sonya’s little attempt at escape. She had spent most of the time locked in her room, wondering what turn her life would take in the upcoming days. She had already committed herself to the fact that she was alone, that this time her father wasn’t coming to save her and there was nowhere to run. For the hundredth time, Sonya could feel tears sting the back of her eyes, but she refused to let another fall down her face. She had spent more than enough time crying. It was time for her to find a way out of this castle.

But first, she would enjoy the comfort of her borrowed bed for a few more moments. Cocooning herself in the warmest cover she had ever used, Sonya wanted to drift back into a peaceful sleep and find her prince. It had been a long time since she had felt his arms around her, and she was starting to miss his touch. He had become her comfort when all else had failed. The fact that she hadn’t seen him the last few nights made her uneasy.
