The Ghost and The Shape

The door behind Danny opened and multiple guards started shouting at him, humming. He spun around, crossing his legs and falling crisscross on the floor. He grabbed the others leg and dissolved into fog, vanishing into the floor, It didn't take Danny long to navigate the facility back to his containment chamber, the other was quite heavy though. Lifting himself out of the floor, he pulled the other's leg. Grunting, they both laid on the ground, Ghostface giggling as he rolled around. Stopping to look at the other who was pushing himself up to stand.

"I didn't mean to get involved, but it was getting too loud and crowded in that hallway. Make yourself at home though, we probably have a few minutes before they come in here."

He stood up finally, walking over to the coffee table to pour two cups of tea. It had cooled to a lukewarm temperature, but he figured the other wouldn't mind. Turning towards the man, he was standing still and staring at Danny. It was strange, maybe edging on creepy if he wasn't used to it. Both from doing it himself and from Billy, but at least this guy seems to be made out of flesh.

"Tea?"

He offered as the other slowly walked over and sat down, apparently giving up on escaping. Smiling, Danny pushed the cup over to him. Lifting his own mask slightly to drink his own, he certainly wasn't expecting the other to grab at him again. The man's hand passed through the dispersed fog of the tea cup and eventually Danny's neck. He grasped around at the fog uselessly for a few moments, before giving up and choosing to sit still in the chair, simply staring.

Chuckling, Ghostface tilted his head and set the tea cup down. "My, you are a fierce one. Although 173 was similar, I can't honestly blame you. That'd be quite hypocritical of me, besides, I personally like fierce people."

Standing up, he lowered his mask and climbed onto the table, sitting in front of the other. He grabbed his wrists and lifted his hands, Danny inspected the dried blood flaking on them, memorizing how it seeped into the cracks and pores. Also noting how rough it was, blood aside, the man clearly used them a lot. Pressing the others' palms together, he turned him into fog, minus the blood. Letting the flaky red petals fall to the ground, the man watched, head just barely tilting to show his interest.

"That's better, right?" Danny looked up and smiled at the other.

The man returned his gaze to Ghostface, right hand pulling from his and slowly moving towards the other's face. Showing a strange carefulness as his fingers grazed the bottom of the weary mask, curling and brushing against the skin underneath. Danny held his breath, internally struggling over what he should do. His heart beating rapidly in his ears, he probably would've let the other take it off if the door hadn't suddenly slammed open.

He went to pull his head back but realized that the other had a tight grip on his mask, so he relented, instead watching from his peripheral vision as multiple guards surrounded them. The other man didn't seem to care, simply continuing to lift the mask. The guards were hesitant to intervene, simply standing by for now. The mask eventually stopped lifting and the other man seemed annoyed by this, grunting and trying to tug at it. Danny giggled and let go of his wrist, slipping out of the others grip. He made fog surround them to block the others eyes before tilting the mask to the side a bit, revealing his smile.

Quickly fixing the mask a few moments later, he removed the fog and tilted his head at the other. Danny fell into a fit of giggles as he watched a glint of something in the others eyes, the guards eventually took hold of the giant man. A few aimed their firearms at Ghostface, who simply continued his giggling, rocking side to side on the coffee table.

"Bye Bye big guy!"

He waved at the other as he left, noticing Dr. Kneel standing off to the side. The door closed and he turned his attention to the good doctor.

"Hello doctor, it took you guys longer to get here than I expected." He snickered

"Ah, well. We were watching on the cameras before deciding to enter, why did you leave containment and bring 6177 here?"

"Hm…I wonder, I originally just wanted to see the action. But he interests me, what's his name?"

"I apologize, 6177 has yet to tell us anything."

Danny pouted "Oh well, could we meet again?"

The doctor furrowed his brows, "Uh— I, suppose I could see if something can be arranged."

Smiling, Ghostface stood up and clapped his hands together, walking over to drape his arm over the other. "Wonderful! Now if you wouldn't mind, I'm quite tired."

The doctor nodded as Danny removed himself from the other, meandering over to the bed, taking a moment to clean up the tea cups and forgotten lunch. The doctor left and Ghostface fell onto the bed, staring up at the ceiling as the lights turned off.

'I'll have to ask if I can get a bathroom and separate it into a section with the bedroom so I can have some privacy.'

He turned his head to look at one of the cameras as it zoomed in on him, he simply waved before sliding under the covers. Letting the blankets be his privacy for now. Sighing, his fingers absentmindedly rubbed at the bottom of his mask. His mind replaying the interaction over and over, adding more questions to an ever expanding list.

'I don't know if he can speak or not, maybe he has telepathy like 173? No, but if he doesn't…Maybe he's deaf? That would be a bit unfortunate. Does he know sign language? Shit, I don't know sign language. Maybe I can ask the doctor for a book so I can learn it just in case, why am I thinking about this so much?'

Groaning in irritation, he turned over onto his stomach. The plastic of his mask pressed rough against his skin which only served to make him groan again.

'He just feels…familiar…? I think?'

He wasn't sure, something was itching in the back of his mind. But no matter how much he thought, he couldn't grasp what was missing. It kept slipping through his fingers every time he got close, it was insanely irritating. And the irritation didn't help him at all, it only served to drive the memory further away. Thankfully he managed to push the irritation away, instead focusing on sleeping. Or well, not focus at all.

…..

He felt the blanket being pulled at before his ears registered the voice, groaning. He sat up, sleep still nestled in him. He blinked a few times as the blanket finally came off, he turned his head to look at the guard and Dr. Hest. Blinking for another moment before sighing and tilting his body to fall off the opposite side of the bed, he dispersed into fog the second he hit the floor. Moving under the bed and resting in the darkness, he hummed contently as the bed moved out from over him.

Though it seems it didn't matter, as he simply moved with the bed. "I suppose you don't want to meet SCP-6177 again?" Hest spoke.

Danny groaned in annoyance and rolled out from under the bed, he propped his elbow up and leaned his head on his hand. Crossing one of his legs over the other as he looked at the two.

"You could've at least been nicer about waking me up. I'm not much of a morning person without a bit of caffeine, so I must warn. Even I am unsure what I will do if I'm rudely awoken."

Their brows knitted as he stood up, stretching a bit when the guard grabbed his arms. Putting a pair of high tech looking cuffs around his wrists, Danny tilted his head as he inspected them.

"Interesting, what kind of metal is this? And do I really need this?" He glanced at the other two.

"We're simply testing, try getting out of them with your powers." Hest responded.

Ghostface shrugged and watched as the cuffs fell through the fog of his wrists and onto the floor with a *Clank*, humming, he crouched down and picked it up. Smiling as he handed it to the guard, Dr. Hest wrote something on his clipboard before turning and motioning the other two to follow. Making their way down a few winding hallways, they greeted Dr. Kneel and two unfamiliar faces. One appeared to be a psychologist, and the other was carrying a book about sign language. Danny's eyes lit up as he moved towards the person, reaching for the book when he heard the click of a gun's safety.

Stopping, his brows knitted as he turned his head to look at the guard. Rolling his eyes, he waved off the man and grabbed the book. The other let go of it easily, moving back from him with a startled expression. Danny couldn't care less, he opened the book and looked over the signs. Smile tugging on his skin as he tried a few, specifically—

*What's your name?*

—the others simply watched as Ghostface memorized the signs, once he was done, he slid the book into his coat and continued walking. Simply slipping through the crack between the doors, looking around the room, his eyes landed on the man. He noted that he was wearing a plain white tee and sweatpants with a Foundation logo on the pocket. Quietly walking over, he rested a hand on his shoulder. The other tensed a bit, glancing over his shoulder before relaxing again.

"Hey big guy, whatcha doing?" He tilted his head, rounding the other to sit on the other side of the table.

The man didn't respond, simply continuing his task of sowing the holes in his overalls. Danny smiled as he pushed closer, grabbing the last needle from the box and pushing some thread through the bottom. He clipped the length of thread before gesturing to the outfit, the other man looked up at him. Staring for a moment before returning to his work, taking the silence as confirmation, he grabbed a part of the overalls and started sowing.

With both of them sowing, it only took twenty minutes. At least, Danny guessed that was how long it took. He waited for the other to finish putting the outfit up before he tried to use the signs, the other stared at him for a few moments before moving closer. He grabbed Ghostface's hands and moved them, showing him the correct way.

Danny smiled and signed it again, the others hand hovering over his. The man nodded in confirmation before signing something himself, Danny tilted his head as he messily copied the others movements. The other shook his head and instructed him again, guiding his hand.

*M I C H A E L.*

Danny repeated the signs a few times before doing his own.

*D S M M Y.*

Humming, he shook his head and sighed. Michael took his hand again, repeating the signs but fixing the mistakes.

*D U M M Y*

Danny pouted and glared at the other, "Well I'm sorry, I definitely didn't excel in Spanish class." He huffed. Pausing at his words, 'Spanish class? Is that something I did?'

Michael stifled a laugh, moving Danny's hand to properly sign his name. Nodding as he repeated it four times, smiling again, Danny giggled and signed.

*Danny. and .Michael*

Michael nodded and sat down, grabbing his hands again and signing something.

*Danny is a dummy.*

"I am not, you're the one who didn't try to escape again." He rolled his eyes as the other let go of his hands.

*Chose not to.*

"Uhuh, whatever you say big guy." Danny chuckled as Michael continued.

*Why don't you try to escape?*

Humming, he tilted his head "Because this place is interesting, and I'm not one to turn down free food and a comfortable bed. Besides, I don't know a lot about my own abilities. And this is the best place to find out, not to mention I don't remember much before waking up here."

Michael stared blankly in thought before turning, specifically away from the glass where the others were watching. Signing something for Danny only.

*I don't either.*

Ghostface furrowed his brows and scratched the back of his head, 'That is definitely strange, we both ended up here at possibly the same time, and neither of us remember much before waking up here. It's too suspicious to be a coincidence, it would also explain the strange familiarity Michael has.'

"6177, please make sure to sign visibly." Hest spoke.

Danny sighed, grabbing Michael's arm and pulling the other to face him. He motioned between them before pointing to his head, making a tapping motion above his head before motioning his hand as if he was pulling something.

-Translation: You and me, memory's, light bulb.-

Michael tilted his head slightly but nodded, motioning between them himself. Before pointing towards the doors, Danny shook his head. Waving his hands out in front of him, tapping his head before standing a bit to tap the others. He jumped off of the table and turned away from the glass, waving his hand through the fog of his other arm. Michael nodded when the two were rudely interrupted by the doors opening.

"Time's up, let's go 6176." Hest beckoned.

Rolling his eyes, Danny patted the other on the arm before offering a wave and leaving. The walk back to his containment cell was quiet, he didn't mind though. It gave him time to think, try to grasp the memories that escaped him. He walked on auto-pilot, sitting down on the couch as he poured two cups of tea and drank his own.

"—Say?" Hest's voice drew him out of his mind.

Tilting his head, "Pardon?" the response made Hest's eye twitch.

"What did 6177 say after turning away from the glass? Matter of fact, translate everything about the conversation you two had. The charades included." His tone turned sour as he tapped his index finger on the coffee table.

"Hm, no." Danny shook his head as the other stood up to shout at him, only to be interrupted by Dr. Kneel.

"Danny, that was what you said to…to Michael. Is that your real name?"

He smiled at the good doctor, nodding. "At least that's what I remember."

The doctor smiled and returned the nod, writing it down on his clipboard. They both ignored the other doctor as he was dragged out by two guards, the two continued a casual conversation.

"Do you mind? Taking off your mask?" Oscar—Danny found out his name during the conversation—suddenly questioned.

Danny hummed, glancing at the cameras. "If the cameras are off, then sure." He smiled.

The doctor nodded, "just a moment." He exited the room, a few moments passed when Ghostface noticed the red light on the cameras turn off.

Oscar came back a few moments later, taking his seat opposite of Danny who nodded appreciatively. He pulled his hood back and pulled the mask off, blinking a few times to get used to the brighter lighting. He set it in his lap and smiled at the other, noting how messy his hair felt, so he tousled it a bit. The doctor appeared a bit surprised, he leaned forward in his seat. Inspecting Danny's face, as said man tilted his head.

"It does get quite stuffy in the mask, though it feels a bit uncomfortable without it." He scratched at the side of his face awkwardly, "Oh! I was going to ask if there can be a bathroom added, I'm glad I don't seem to have much of a scent. But I feel awfully dirty, and also, could it be sectioned off with the bedroom without cameras so I have some privacy?"

Oscar nodded, still staring quite heavily. Danny took a sip of his tea and maintained his warm smile.

'God this is awkward, for me at least, I know no one has seen me without my mask for a while. But it's not like I've got any crazy scars or anything, I mean, I have scars. Just not mutilated level, and I don't think I'm ugly? Am I? I hope they add a mirror to the bathroom.'

The doctor cleared his throat, "I'm sorry, I hope I didn't make you uncomfortable. I was just surprised, you're very attractive." His face immediately flushed red as he waved his hands in front of himself. "Not like—I mean that anomalies tend to have different mutations and stuff due to their powers, and—and you don't, which isn't bad or uncommon. We just hardly deal with humanoid anomalies here." He spewed frantically.

Danny blinked a few times before breaking into a wide smile and laughing, "Thank you, doctor." Oscar nodded before making up an excuse and leaving. Chuckling, Danny slid his mask back on and pulled up his hood. Grabbing one of the books the good doctor had brought for him, he shook his head, amused.

'Attractive huh? I haven't showered in a while, I don't know how attractive one can be after that.'
