Chapter 29

(Ahem) Damen clears his throat.

"I think I should go now..." He adds and stood up from his seat.

The four walked out of the room as they headed towards the entrance.

"I won't be seeing you guys again…" He states at the sight of the royal carriage.

Though he said that he was teary in his eyes and had meant it in a sarcastic way. Talia had burst out into laughter.

(phh) "Sister, we should also head back...I mean would you go back with me in the Southern?" She suggests at Ophelia.

"Uhmm…are you guys just going to ignore me? I'm leavingg." Damen adds, he was ignored again.

"I-" Ophelia began.

"Don't..."

Icarus spoke back at Talia. He felt the urge to reject the offer for her and it was his only chance. The three looks at Icarus, Talia was eyeing him carefully at his next words.

"What did you say?" Ophelia wonders at him.

"Ophelia, stay with me…" He adds looking at her straightly. He slowly lowers his posture and assumed with his other knee on the ground. Kneeling down. He bows his head at the ocean-eyed girl and placed his right hand fisted on his left chest. It was honorable, humble post of a king.

"...marry me, Ophelia..." He speaks with his heart.

The three had their eyes bulged out in utter shock. Who knew the great king would lower his head down like this in public?

"Y-youu..." Talia went speechless at the unexpected proposal. However, Ophelia's eyes turned teary at the sight of him. Can she really stay with him? She didn't feel like she would belong anywhere but he had offered her his heart.

"...Please…Ophelia...It can't be home without you."

...'...a home…'

Ophelia's heart pounded wildly at his words. She had nowhere to run off to even if she was the first princess she was nothing but a stranger in that place.

"Can I really be with you?" Can I call you home? She had thought of it over and over again.

"Yes, Ophelia… I love you..." Icarus looks up to her and offers a genuine smile at her. He loved her and it frightened him that she was gonna get taken away.

At that moment, Ophelia threw her arms around Icarus and felt his embrace as warmth grew in her heart.

"...I might puke now... seriously, can you plan this thing much earlier...I should cancel my trip..." Damen adds. He was slow witted and couldn't read the atmosphere. On the other hand-

"… My gods, I hate you your majesty, but please make her happy...f*k I really hate you." Talia states with mixed-emotions. She was happy and frustrated she couldn't take her sister from his grasps.

"…So when will you held the marriage?" Damen asked rationally.

"...tomorrow." Icarus could only answer confidently.

"Hah?! Why would you do this? Seriously?" Damen adds his brother is indeed not sane.

Talia waved her hand on the air as if gesturing that Icarus had won an unspoken battle.

"ALL HALE TO THE GREAT KING! You might as well sign the marriage papers tonight so you won't have the trouble planning on the ceremony." Talia mocks teasingly at the proud humble king.

"...good thinking" Icarus commends at Talia's words.

"No, seriously please have a formal wedding..." Talia takes her words back feeling troubled.

"...Please let's take our time..." Ophelia looks at Icarus in the eyes and all she could see was affection.

"Fine...Let's do that, anything my queen wishes..." He adds as he took Ophelia's hand and kissed it lightly.

"So when is it?" Damen, irritated at their loving sight could only ask as he was slow-witted.

"How could you not read the atmosphere? Come on..." Talia pushes Damen out and unto his carriage.

-

Five days have passed on as Ophelia lived her life within the Eastern Castle. She had etiquette lessons and politics with the Counselor as to familiarize herself in the new life she had found.

Peace and tranquil were her days. But she had somehow notice her body have been reacting to some weird symptoms. She would vomit after breakfast, and sometimes her head would ache and get feverish at times. She didn't understand it at first but she had doubts now.

Every now and then Icarus would attempt in making love to her but she felt it wasn't the best time. Maybe her body had ate something and triggered her to act this way, or her hormones were still adjusting to her new body. Whatever it was, it made her feel light headed and dizzy.

Ophelia woke up in bed and dressed herself. She was heading for the garden for some breakfast tea. When-

~(omph! pwhaa) Ophelia vomited on her way, splatting white mixture fluids from last night's soup. Why is this happening to her?

"Elia! What's wrong?" Icarus had spotted his fiancé who looked helplessly beautiful.

"I-..." she drifted off unconscious.

"Ophelia...you're awake..."

The first thing Ophelia saw was the worried look on Icarus' face. She was back in her bedroom and the Royal Herbalist was there smiling, brimming in happiness.

"Congratulations, your highnesses! You're pregnant!"

Ophelia blinked in surprise. Did she hear wrong?

"That is why your majesty have been feeling weak lately...you need a lot of rest and you need more nutrients to keep in shape..." The herbalist added and made a list for her supplements, and left the room to get a servant for the errand.

"Icarus, I-" she started.

"I'm so happy Ophelia....I love you then, and now…I'll continue to love you more." He adds endearingly to Ophelia as he kissed her sloppily.

"Tomorrow's the day...will you be alright?" He asks.

"...Yeah, a little rest will do." She brims at him tenderly. Icarus had become soft hearted when it came to her. Icarus stood up as he inclined to leave the room.

"Icarus...

He slowly glances back at her and stops in his pace.

...I love you too."

She adds.

"I know...please get some rest now." He smiles back. His eyes were intensely moved at her sight.

'...Ah, how could she stop me leaving her room like this? Does she know how hard I've been trying to surpass my desires?'

His inner self had gone wild just from seeing her. He wanted her, all of her. He hated why she had been feeling sick. Now that Icarus could understand how deep he had fell for Ophelia. He never meant to impregnate her, because if she did it would only make her suffer.

'Damn, I'll make her suffer again.'

He thought at her figure. Her body was too weak for f*ks sake and he never thought it would be because she bared his offspring. He didn't know if he can accept his son/daughter if their lives would take her precious life away. But Ophelia would hate these thoughts of him.

'..Just don't take her life away...'

He shares one last glance at her and left.
