14 The Date

But it was difficult, so damn difficult. He was sitting so close, one arm thrown over so that she was lightly pressed to his chest. His left hand slowly inched forward and meshed with her cold ones. The moment they touched though, her digits became instantly warm. It was becoming difficult not to hyperventilate. Oh my god! The guy who had just started playing with her fingers was actually Feanor Frazier, the heart throb of millions, was actually sitting beside her. Her heart started beating erratically and she was sure he could hear it beating in the silence. She was proven correct.

"What's the matter?"

"Um, nothing. Nothing really." And when he looked unconvinced, she just gushed out. "Oh my god, it's just that, truth be told, I never imagined that I'd get to meet you, and not only that, but will be having dinner with you, alone. I mean, just you and me, and then come here, in this romantic site, you know, like a, like a…"

"Like a date?" he asked.

She looked up, breathless, "It that what it is?"

He looked thoughtful, as if trying to find a way to frame his next words. But he gave up after a while.

"Oh, what the hell? I was trying to make it not sound like a line, but seriously, I have no idea. I mean, of course the dinner was kind of like a date, and mark my words, I don't make a habit of inviting my stalker fans to dinner." he teased her, a finger lifting to touch the corner of her mouth, "but I certainly hadn't planned to come here. And to show you my hideout. It just… happened."

Her eyes were huge black pools of wonder and anticipation. There was a flutter in the pit of her stomach as he traced, oh so softly, her full lips and pried them open gently.

"And I certainly hadn't planned for this." He murmured, almost inaudible. And with that he leaned forward and closed the gap between them.

They clung to each other, mindless in their passion for each other. From the moment his lips touched hers, Idril quite lost all senses of time and place and who she was, but her whole being focused sharply on him. Jolts of electricity shot down her body from wherever he touched her. His right hand at the back of her head, holding her steady and the left at her waist. Their bodies close but not quite touching. With a groan, she arched closer to him and in the next instant she was enveloped in his tight embrace and then and there she was lost to the world.

From that moment on she knew this was it! This is that illusive thing called love. It couldn't be anything else. If one kiss could make her feel like this, it most definitely was it. It wasn't merely the aura and hero worship. Finally, she had found it. She had found what she had always doubted about. She was completely and irrevocably in love with him. Forever.

After what seemed like an eternity and for their need to draw breath, they parted, both taking in huge gulps of the clean cold air. They looked at each other, their colors high and suddenly they broke into fits of giggle at the same time. Between laughs, Feanor said," Not entirely true. I wanted to kiss you from the moment I saw you. But I didn't imagine it will be like this." He got down on his knees and took both her hands in his large ones.

"It's not enough for me. Just an evening. I want to spend more time with you. Will you give me your tomorrow as well?" He asked solemnly.

She didn't even stop to consider it. "Yes, I will."

He stood up. "Great. Then let's get you home tonight and then tomorrow I will take you sightseeing."

She nodded but kept sitting there, unable to credit all that was happening so quickly.

"Come on then, I will take to your hotel. How did you come by the way?"

"I hitched a ride. One of our local crews was coming this way and very kindly gave me a lift."

"And how were you planning to return? It is quite late?" Feanor asked in some surprise. He had assumed she had a car.

She shrugged, "I actually didn't think it would get so late. Thought I will take the bus, maybe."

He stood looking at her for a moment. "You are not very practical, are you?"

She blushed slightly. "My mother says the same thing. She says one day I'll get in very serious trouble."

"She is right." They started walking back towards the parking lot, holding hands once again. "Here you are, stranded in a strange city with a stranger and no means of transport. What are you going to do now?"

"Well, for one thing, you are not a stranger."

"I could be serial killer for all you know."

She tightened her grip. "I trust you." She didn't know where that came from, but she knew it to be true. Both of them stopped at the same instant and kissed, after which he said with a faint smile, "You are not very sensible either, but you'll do." They reached the car parking and he tucked her in his Tesla.

Putting the car on drive, he released a huge sigh. Just the he realized how tense he was. It had meant so much that she agreed to spend time with him. Because this was it. He knew it. That mind blowing kiss had made him supremely sure about it. He had had his share of kisses, more if not less. Not for nothing his dream woman has been sent to him. He was being given a chance and there wasn't anything in the world that could stop him from taking that chance and making it last a lifetime.
