11 Zombie Attack?

Liu Kai and Jin Chow left the underground dungeon to travel East.

The Eastern area of the domains became the most dangerous place you can go to. After the emergence of the other creatures in their world, they overran the human territories in the area and took it over.

Villages uprooted, citizens evacuated after everything they did to bring back their lives. Jin Chow explained all this while they were moving since it could be dangerous if Liu Kai didn't know what to expect.

Both Jin Chow and Liu Kai didn't have any luggage, so they moved fast. They didn't have a specific destination and were only heading in the direction the Monarchy ordered to investigate. There's rustling in some distance, so they had to stop after they notice the presence.

Something didn't seem right about the place, so they put their guard up waiting for something to happen.

"Look alive! Something's coming." Jin Chow said as he got in a defensive stance with both of his hands up ready for anything.

A man slowly appeared out of the trees and walked closer to them. Jin Chow quickly spoke to the man and tried to signal him to stop.

"Stop right there. Who are you?" Jin Chow asked while pointing the palm of his hand to the man.

The mysterious man didn't stop and kept walking like he was drunk.

"Jin, look at his eyes..." Liu Kai cringed as he pointed at the man's face.

The man's eyes were all white as if he were blind. He looked pale, and his clothes were all torn up and worn out.

"Stop! Are you okay? Did something happen to you?" Jin Chow exclaimed with a hint of worry.

"I'm a survivor, please help me!" The man pleaded with a hoarse voice, trying to gasp for air while still getting closer to both of them.

Jin Chow did not hesitate to support the man and went to his aid when he asked for help. He held him firmly to stand up straight, so he could talk more clearly.

Liu Kai observed the man while Jin Chow was helping and doing the talking.

"What happened? How did you end up here?" Jin Chow asked worriedly, but the man didn't answer. He was groaning softly and kept salivating through his mouth. Jin Chow thought he might need some medical attention since his complexion was flushed, so he asked again.

"Are you okay? Are you hungry or something?"

The man then tilted his head and stared at Jin Chow. It looked terrifying since he had no pupils or an iris. He then opened his mouth slowly and smiled from ear to ear. Jin Chow didn't know what to do, so he was ready to put him down, but before he could, the man jumped forward with his mouth wide open and bit down on his neck.

However, Liu Kai quickly responded to his hostile action and flung himself to save Jin Chow by kicking the man on his side. The man flew a few meters away from them and landed on the ground. They both waited for the man to move as Jin Chow felt his neck to see if the man's teeth pierced through his skin.

"Hey, did you just try to bite me?" Jin Chow grumbled as he felt saliva on his neck.

The man moved and suddenly convulsed its entire body like it was having a seizure on the ground. It quickly turned its head to both of them and stood up. He then said. "Please help me! I'm so hungry! Please let me EAT YOU!!" The man lunged forward before he could even finish what he was saying.

"Please stop!" Jin Chow pleaded, but the man didn't listen and latched once more to the apprentice knight and cocked its head to bite him again.

Jin Chow gripped the hair on the back of the man's head to prevent him from biting his neck.

"Stop this, please." Jin Chow pleaded, but the man was not listening and was still forcing a bite on Jin Chow's body.

"Can you just knock him out? We're going to be here all da—. "Liu Kai's voice trailed off as he felt multiple presences approaching their location.

"Hey Chow, we have more coming." Liu Kai informed him as he rotated to see they got surrounded on every angle. Jin Chow pulled the man's hair back and grabbed his neck with this other hand and threw him a few meters away and also looked at their surroundings.

People were coming out from different sides of the forest with numbers that continued to grow. And before they realized it, hundreds of people already surrounded them. Liu Kai instantly observed the similarities with all of them.

They were all thin and paled like their blood got sucked out, and no one seemed to be in the right mind. Liu Kai also felt something more prominent, but he couldn't see it yet, he could barely sense it from their distance.

"Jin Chow, something feels off with them." Liu Kai cautioned while still observing the hoard surrounding them.

"I don't understand. If they were that hungry to eat human flesh, why don't they just eat each other?" Jin Chow questioned.

"You have a point, but for now we need to find a way to escape if we don't want to be their food." Liu Kai affirmed as he thought of a way to escape their predicament, but nothing came to mind.

"Do you have any ideas on how to get out of here without hurting these people or dying?" Jin Chow asked as he gulped down on his saliva that pooled as he got nervous. Their situation became more severe as time ticked away.

"Nothing yet, it'll be much harder if we can't harm them." As Liu Kai uttered his words, one of the mystery people charged at them while snarling like a wild beast. This sudden attack signaled the rest of them to attack at the same time.

"What are we going to do?" Jin Chow panicked with his fists up. He didn't want to harm them since he thought they were sick with some unknown disease.

Liu Kai grabbed the hair of the first human that attacked, picked him up off the ground, and threw him to the other people running towards them, causing them to fall like pins in a bowling alley.

"Like that, just do what I did. This will buy us some time and it won't hurt them… that much." Liu Kai responded.

Jin Chow copied what Liu Kai did and picked up people at a time using both of his hands and kept throwing them at the people trying to pounce on them.

.

"This won't end Liu Kai! They just keep getting back up and rushing forward! We need to escape now!" Jin Chow snapped, forcing Liu Kai to come up with an idea.

"I don't think they're still human!" Liu Kai insisted while he continued to grab and throw everyone that approached him.

"What!? Are you sure? Then what do we do!?"

Liu Kai didn't answer. Jin Chow tried to think of something himself, but it wasn't his forte. He was more used to accepting orders from others.

"We'll die if this continues!" Jin Chow complained.
