Torture or Kill?

The giant wasp, unable to strike back after the damage caused on her, rolled over a few meters after being knocked back by Liu Kai. Jin Chow woke up after hearing the impact of the wasp's body falling helplessly into the trees.

"What the heck is this?" He said, trying his best to stand up.

After seeing the wasp, he grinned and said, "He did it." Jin Chow realized that Liu Kai was tough when they quarreled. But he's facing an A-Rated Monster; that's why he's also worried. He realized that Liu Kai would be killed if the intensity he saw was not enough in front of the wasp. But all his fears went away when he saw the wasp battered.

"Where is that idiot?" He mumbled, looking for Liu Kai.

Liu Kai landed in front of the wasp, looking at Jin Chow, badly beaten, sitting on the ground. It added to Liu Kai's anger as he turned his back and glared at the wasp.

"Sir Antonio, huh? "Jin Chow said immediately after seeing Liu Kai. Jin Chow's expression transformed with fear when he thought it was someone else.

'No, this is Liu Kai. But this bloodlust is crazy. "Jin Chow thought to himself after clearly observing the man who had appeared in front of him.

Even if he's a little far away, he can see that Liu Kai has improved. His aura is more vigorous, and veins are bursting out all over his body like it's going to blow up any minute. His entire body was soaked in blood, and his eyes are bright red, which can be seen from afar, glowing when Liu Kai tilted his body a bit and looked at him after landing.

Jin Chow gets up and comes up to Liu Kai as though he's having a rough time walking because of his current condition.

"Liu Kai," said Jin Chow.

Jin Chow began calling Liu Kai, but he didn't answer. His shoulder shook with so much laughter as he watched the wasp do its hardest to escape.

Liu Kai held the antenna once again and threw the wasp upwards, hitting the ground.

KUOOOH!!!

"Uhhhhh!" Jin Chow flew a few meters and fell from the impact.

"Liu Kai, that's enough. You defeated it, just kill it already." Jin Chow shouted while trying to stand up again.

Liu Kai's expression has changed from excitement to absolute seriousness. He said, "This bug made me kill the lady I was trying to save. Do you know how awful that is? It caused a lot of suffering from all those people who were hosts. Why shouldn't we repay the favor by giving her a miserable death?" Liu Kai explained, staring at the wasp after he thought about it.

Jin Chow is surprised by his reaction and is unable to reply for a moment.

'Liu Kai doesn't look like what he used to be.' thought Jin Chow. And he immediately recalled the first time he saw Liu Kai. He appears so kind and naive, but after he played with him a bit, his attitude shifted, and his demeanor changed slightly.

'Is it part of his blessing? No, this is more like a curse.' Jin Chow thought to himself.

Since the Great Disaster, he has learned a lot of things. Most people have changed since they have learned their blessings. Yet it was because of their personalities that they shifted. Liu Kai is a little strange.

He looks normal before he uses his blessing. The same innocent-looking person that you would bully once you saw. It's like when he activates his skill, there is a complete personality change aside from him getting more robust and hideous.

"Dude, this is an insect. It doesn't have a will or whatever. It's been made like that. Let's just kill it," said Jin Chow.

"Tsk." Liu Kai grumbled, triggering his abilities.

Liu Kai clenched his fists and stared murderously at the giant wasp. Then he struck it with all his rage in it. The giant wasp's head burst like a balloon.

Jin Chow's eyes and mouth are wide open from shock by the power that Liu Kai exhibited in front of him. He wondered earlier how Liu Kai defeated the giant wasp, but now it's answered.

'How did he gain this more power?' He thought to himself but was afraid to ask Liu Kai because of his current state.

"Let's consume its power." Liu Kai told him nonchalantly.

"What do you mean by consuming its power?" Jin Chow asked, but Liu Kai just ignored him.

Of course, Jin Chow wouldn't understand the meaning of Liu Kai's statement because he doesn't have a system helping him. He only knows that it is highly nutritious without knowing that it is a significant factor for gaining stats.

Liu Kai only knew that because of the notifications he received before, that popped up multiple times while he was eating the Giant Cockroach.

Liu Kai tried to walk away to leave Jin Chow and look for logs to burn with the wasp.

"Hey, hold on! Let's rest a bit. Aren't you tired?" Jin Chow pleaded.

They rested for a bit after the battle due to exhaustion. They sat leaning against a tree facing each other with a few meters distance between them close to the wasp's dead body.

Jin Chow felt proud to himself that he acted earlier instead of running like a coward. Something changed this time, Captain. I promised I wouldn't let that thing happen again.' Jin Chow thought to himself. All he did before is activate his skill, run around, and let everyone perish while he can only protect himself. He also felt grateful that he didn't lose a comrade this time.

Liu Kai was back to normal and quietly thinking deep in himself while resting.

'What happened to me earlier?'

'All I know is I wanted to save that woman. This happened before already. Yeah, when my body moved by itself to save that old man.' Liu thought to himself. He held his chin and massaged it and continued to think.

'Hmm, there's something wrong inside me. I want to save them, but why I'm not thinking twice about doing it for real. What happened earlier is different. This guy is trying to stop me, but something is forcing me to act.'

'After a lot of bodies covered me, my thoughts slowly faded away. I don't know what I'm doing anymore.' He thought to himself.
