2 Chapter 1

I looked at the text and gasped. It was from an unknown number.

"I know what you are."

I shakily texted back, "Who is this?" I got a response a minute later.

"I'm no one important. Just someone like you, a shapeshifter." I gasped, shocked that someone knew what I am, a Dragon Shifter.

I sighed and responded, "What makes you think that I'm a shapeshifter?" I didn't get a response until two minutes later.

"Because I saw you earlier, running to the bathroom, scaled-covered wings coming out of your back and a long scaly tail slithering behind you. I know what you are, you're a Dragon Shifter." I was shaking.

I responded, "If you know who and what I am then tell me who you are and what kind of shifter you are." I waited for a response as I pulled the green scales out of my school bag. I pulled open a dresser drawer and put the green scales inside amongst all the others. I closed the dresser drawer and sighed, leaning against my bedroom door. I got a response.

"I'm a Cat Shifter. I can shift into different cats. My name is Konner Cat. I believe we have the same 6th hour."

"So you followed me out of the classroom?" I replied.

"No, I asked if I could also go to the bathroom since I finished my test. I followed you because I sensed another shifter in the class. I never imagined it would be you and a Dragon Shifter nonetheless. Does anyone else know what you are?" He responded.

"No. You're the only one who knows." I answered.

"Not even your bff, Techna?" He asked.

"No, not even she knows. All she knows is that I have a fascination with dragons. My mom, dad, and brother don't even know. Why do you ask?"

He replied, "Because I wanted to know if you could be trusted with this information of me being a shifter. I have to go, my parents need help making dinner. Cya at school tomorrow!"

I sighed and texted my response, "Cya." I then heard a knock on my bedroom door.

"Who is it?" I asked.

"It's Asriel ya goofball!" my brother said. I smiled and opened the door.

"Azzie!" I giggled, hugging him.

He smiled, "Hey Chara. How did you do on your math test today?" he asked.

"I got stressed with one problem but I asked Mrs. Lee to make the problems less stressful for me." I answered him.

"And what did she say?" Asriel asked.

"She said she would do it so I won't fail!" I answered, still hugging Asriel. "Why don't you sit with me during lunch?" I asked in a sad tone.

"You know I have friends at school and can't spend every second of the day with you." Asriel answered, patting my head.

I pouted, "It would make me feel better if you tried to make it up to me by buying me chocolate." I said.

"Chara!" He yelled.

I giggled, "Pleeeeease Azzie! I haven't had chocolate for a whole month!"

"That's because you're grounded from eating chocolate for the rest of the year and I don't want to get in trouble with mom!" Asriel argued.

I growled. "Fine. Be a coward. I'm going out for a fli- I mean walk. I'm going out for a walk." I said. I opened my bedroom window and climbed out, jumping down the two stories to the ground below.
