10 Chapter 8

Continued from last time...

'You will go undercover in SETS. Good luck.'

WHAT????????'

'One two three four five six seven eight nine, ten made todoke Enjoy party no music, yay, yay...' Natalie played music out of her iPod.

'Emily!! That step is wrong!! How are you supposed to make it to the top class like that?' Natalie said, while tapping her foot impatiently. 'Oh! Okay, then...' The two were practicing their routine together. As Natalie was already in the class after Jessalyn's death (and much to her, Luna & Noelle's delight), she was able to go undercover. However, Emily was smarter and Natalie wanted her to help. 'Again! One two three four five six seven eight nine ten made todoke Enjoy party no music yay yay... That's much better. Onee-chan would be proud.' Natalie smiled and handed her a bottle of water.

TIME SKIP...

'Okay. Here's a new student and her name is Emily. Please introduce yourself to the class, Emily,' Miss Tana, the dance teacher at SETS, ordered. 'Hai! My name is Emily Chen and I am nine years old. I know how to dance but I haven't attended a talent school before. Therefore, please take care of me. Thank you so much!' Emily briefly introduced herself. 'Emily, we will do the dance routine. Did Natalie-' 'Um, Miss Tana, I already taught Emily the dance-' 'Then that's perfect! We will need one more person to participate in a dance contest with Noelle and Luna there. Good luck and we will hold the audition next week.' Miss Tana instructed, while pointing at Noelle Ching and Luna Wang, two of the best students in SETS Academy. I hope I will be just like them, Emily thought, while looking at Natalie's sister, Noelle, doing a backflip in the air. (That's amazing. I don't know how to do that)

Emily didn't really listen to the teacher during class. Natalie listened instead, while Emily looked around for some suspicious clues. Miss Tana didn't seem like a murderer at all. I think... Maybe Joanne Chang?? Luckily, Emily was a fast learner and she learnt the dance quickly. She wanted to socialize with the teacher, Miss Tana and the other students in order to find more clues, so she asked Natalie to privately teach her the steps to please Miss Tana.

'Okay! I need to do well in the audition! Luna's probably the biggest suspect of them all, mainly because well, she clapped and cheered the loudest among all the girls, meaning she hated Jessalyn the most. Right, Nat?' 'Ya! That's right.' Natalie smiled and winked at Emily. 'Can you please teach me the dance again?' 'Okay!'

Finally, the day came. Miss Tana was very pleased at the students. But, she asked professionals to judge them. 'Uh oh! I've never done that befor-' 'Emily!! Try out with Luna and Noelle!' Miss Tana announced.

Emily shook, her hands full of sweat, when she walked towards the middle of the classroom. She looked at Noelle, who gave her a wink and a smile of approval. She, now, finally knew why she was voted as the student of the year and the head girl of the school. She was perfect, not only academically, but also mentally mature. She was extremely intelligent, determined and aggravatingly prepared in every aspect. Always, two steps ahead of everyone else her age.

'Okay! Music, Start!' Miss Tana ordered. Emily braced herself, but tried her best in what she had learnt online, and what Natalie had taught her. One complicated dance move after another... until...

'Phew!! So exhausting! I'm so tired...' Emily muttered to herself as soon as the dance finished. She gripped herself for a long, boring lecture from Miss Tana for not properly flexed her legs, not jumped high enough etc. But, Miss Tana smiled.

'That was...

Perfect!! The epitome of excellence! You three are perfectly tuned!! Done!! The audition is complete! I announce that you, Emily, have succeeded. Extra training from now on. But, for heavens sake, your'e just a newbie. How can you dance that perfectly? Anyways, Keira!! Has Brooklyn answered the call yet?' Miss Tana exclaimed. 'N-Not yet, Miss.' Keira answered. 'Ugh!! Why is that scoundrel not answering the phone!!! So, the murderer is Joanne Chang after all!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!' Miss Tana laughed and shook her head.

Okay, one step closer to reaching my goal. So far, nothing has happened. Will something happen to Noelle or Luna soon?

Never mind, I need to work hard! Performance stage, here I come!!!!!!!

Emily looked at the school calendar. Two weeks later, it will be her sister, Emma's birthday party. But, most importantly, Miss Tana had arranged them, meaning Emily, Noelle and Luna, to perform at a wedding... The wedding of famous TV star Anson Law (Uh oh! Here comes laughing), and a worldwide-famed actress, dancer and a reputable SETS Academy graduate, Christine Lo...

Will anything go wrong??
