3 Chapter 1

'I'm moving to Sunrise Towers next week!!!' A girl shouted. 'Yasssss!!!!!! I live there too!! Let's play in the clubhouse as soon as you arrive!!' Her best friend replied and the two girls hugged. It was lunch time in the Happy Valley Public Primary School, and the grade 3 students are talking in the cafeteria. 'Emily? Why are you upset?' The first girl asked a girl with twin tails. 'Um...Um..'

Emily Chen, often known as Chen Ka Ching (陳嘉晴) in Chinese, is a nine year old girl. Like many girls her age, Emily liked tying twin tails. Her casual outfits are mostly cute, feminine and girly, mostly from Japan's kawaii section. She's friendly, helpful and smarter than most people her age. She enjoys reading and likes detective, murder and crime mysteries best. 'Murder Most Unladylike' is her favourite book series and she wants to solve mysteries in real life like Daisy Wells and Hazel Wong.

Okay, Emily's a girl with dark brown hair tied in twin tails with pink streaks made with ribbons, brown twinkling eyes and a charming smile. She loves the colour pink, and prefers pastel, light colours, like most other children her age. She likes reading, as I told you before, and solving mysteries, riddles and puzzles along with her friends. Unlike other students in her school, she is still not in an Army or Official Fans Club of a J-pop or a K-pop group. When her friends are dancing to 'Fancy', 'IDOL', 'Boy With Luv' or 'Kill This Love' in large groups in the school playground during the school recess, she reads and writes stories in the school library by herself. This, I think, makes her special.

Emily has only a few friends since most classmates think she is too quiet and shy. Her best friend is called Natalie. Natalie Ching Nya Yiu (程雅瑤), nicknamed Nat or Nat-Nat, is very popular at school. Natalie has long, dark brown hair usually worn loosely with braids and sometimes adds purple or gold streaks to them. However, she changes her hairstyle often and likes to be fashionable. She often wears dangling, gold earrings and is always dressed more mature and fashionably than the other students. She is the younger sister of the school head prefect, and thus has power over everything at school. Even though she 'controls' the entire school with her sisters, Natalie is nice to everyone and instead is kind and helpful to people in need. She likes a lot of different idols, and likes singing and dancing with Emily.

Back to the story, shall we?

'I-I'm moving to Sunrise Towers next month...' Emily mumbled. 'YAY!!!!! I live there!! Which block are you in, Ching Ching (晴晴)??' Natalie asked excitedly. 'B-Block S-Six, I-I guess... I'm scared that there will be ghosts in my house,' Emily said sadly. 'YAY!!!!! I'm in Block Seven!!! We share the same clubhouse and swimming pool!! Btw, no ghosts exist. Don't be a scaredy-cat! My cousin Maya lives in block 6 too and still nothing has happened to her.' Natalie smiled and said. 'Alright, I guess...' Emily replied and both of them went back to their classroom.

It was now after school. Emily was walking towards the school's main entrance. 'YAY!!!!! School's ended!! Now, I can watch Pokemon in peace!!' A friend said in fluent Cantonese. 'Eh? Where's Natalie?' Emily asked back in the same language. 'Nat? Idk. She must have gone home with the her sister, the head prefect. Never mind. C'mon. Let's go home.' The friend answered.

Emily spent the rest of the afternoon looking for her best friend. What if Natalie's disappeared? Will I finally have my first mystery to solve? She thought. She took out a piece of paper and started to write out the possibilities of where Natalie had gone. Where has Natalie gone? She thought.

So, WHERE HAS NAT GONE??????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
