1 Deep Sorrow

Empty ....

That was the look that everyone present could see when looking sadly at the woman sitting helplessly on the side of a corpse's head. The corpse looked like a sleeping person.

The woman continued to stare at the cotton-white corpse covered with brown batik cloth, her beauty face covered by a soft white scarf.

Yes! The body that lay lifeless was the husband of this woman. None of those present could guess the meaning of that gaze.

But what was clear was that they all could feel her deep devastation, even the sobs of the mourners accompanying the current mourning did not attract the woman's attention at all.

The woman's face which was usually always decorated with a beautiful smile-, is now full of sadness and tears of loss.

No moans escaped her tiny lips but, her appearance strongly emphasized how devastated she was right now. The woman who has a beautiful and soft face typical of Javanese women wears a plain white long-sleeved dress.

The overall dress that covered her tiny body, her eyes sparkling with tears that couldn't be stopped, with a small sob that hinted at the pain, felt sad for anyone who heard it.

That blank stare ignored the people who came to him to offer their condolences and condolences.

Her smooth white hands with curly fingers hugged her mother tightly and such a heartbreaking sentence, "Fateh, he's gone, mom."

She spilled all the broken feelings in her heart when her mother came to hug her no less tightly, aiming to share her grief and strengthen her youngest daughter.

There was a pained sob from both of them, the pain was really visible and felt clearly by the relatives and mourners present.

"Yes dear, calm down and let it go," Lusi softly in her daughter's ear stammering.

After finishing with all the funeral preparations, the woman and her entire family escorted the corpse to rest quietly and peacefully in the arms of the earth.

Staggering in the arms of her older brother, she followed the coffin and the convoy of mourners to the public cemetery in the elite housing complex where her husband's parents lived, where her husband was born and raised.

The older brother who patiently supported his younger brother was only able to cry silently when he saw his sister's condition-, because at this time no one was able to calm and comfort each other.

Letting his little brother through the day with all the taste is the best solution, he thought.

Arriving at the burial place, without waiting any longer, the funeral officials immediately buried the body, chanting prayers accompanying his departure from the funeral home until the time for burial.

The woman also kept on chanting prayers in her heart so that her loved ones would find an easy way without any obstacles to face the owner of life.

She witnessed her husband's body, which had been wrapped in a shroud, slowly entered the grave. The father-in-law at the head, the husband's biological brother at the waist, and his biological brother at the legs.

They directly receive the bodies of their husbands led by priests who understand the laws of their beliefs.

After everything was done, one by one the mourners left the cemetery, leaving him and his family to stare at the new gravestones with tears in their eyes.

Fateh's mother, who from the start looked strong and sincere, finally burst into tears in her husband's arms, muttering a sentence that couldn't believe today was the death day of the baby she loved so much.

Afraid that the wife fainted, the husband swiftly took his wife out of the cemetery and immediately returned to the funeral home. Because the day was getting cloudy.

Understanding if their sister needed time, the two older sisters left the woman alone not too far away, so they could still see and reach her sister.

No one understands someone's feelings better than own siblings. Flowing the same blood in their bodies is enough to make them understand how broken and how bad his younger brother is right now.

Meanwhile, her husband's two brothers had returned to the funeral home with their parents and in-laws, there were still many guests and distant relatives who had just arrived. So they couldn't linger at the funeral even though the heart wanted to stay a little longer.

***

As if he also felt the woman's sorrow, the sky which from the beginning looked very cloudy, finally rained heavily, the sound of the wind rumbling loudly and the thunder echoing each other became the death music that pierced the woman's heart.

Now she was alone sobbing and wailing hugging the mound of earth filled with fresh flowers, indicating that her husband's body had just been buried.

"You left me, you broke your promise to me, you are not loyal." She's wailing stuttering under the pouring rain. With a drenched body.

"During our 15 years of togetherness, you have never made me cry like this dear, you have never made me feel pain for what you said and did, but why today are you making me feel this pain, Fateh," she whispered.

Her slender fingers squeezed her left chest, which felt so painful at this time, "This hurts, I really can't stand it," she continued again.

No one could hear her sad words, because the sound of the rain drowned out the pain. Satisfied crying and screaming to spill his sadness, she closed she's eyes to remember everything that happened for almost 1 month.

"I forgive your mistake for covering this from my dear, I also forgive you for the trust you left behind, so rest in peace by Allah's side," she said slowly.

After that, she opened she's eyes and caressed the grave with her soft hands.

"But I can't obey your last mandate, and forgive those who did this to me" she continued in her heart.

The woman who had been lying down and hugging the mound of earth-, slowly got up and looked at the old tomb with strong determination in her heart, from now on she would come to this grave every day to change flowers and spend time with her husband.

It sounded crazy but, she didn't care about anything anymore. Because her life has also died with her husband.

**

She ignored the persuasion of her two brothers to get into the pickup car.

Understanding the attitude of the sister who rejected them, the two of them patiently followed the steps of the younger sister from behind.

Their faltering steps cut through the streets of the complex which were deserted because of the heavy rain.

Not without reason, she refused the warmth and attention offered by her two brothers, now she can no longer accept that warmth because they are also one of the reasons she and her husband are separated.

Happy reading. Can you give me advice and input, this is my first story in speaking English. Please understand if there are many shortcomings. There's still a lot to learn.
