10 She Stole The Spotlight

The day of the party arrived and China brought out the best dress she had, it was her mother's and she had been saving it for a special occasion.

She had left the Aurora mansion the day before and gone to her father's house, he had been furious thinking she had run away but when he made a call to Alvin and he told that China had said the truth, he let her stay.

It was a pretty dress fit for a princess, not too big and not too small. She called on her best friend, Delia to help with her make up.

Delia was a mistress in the art of make up,she could paint the ugliest face to beauty and a beautiful face to perfection.

Delia came and styled China's hair into beautiful braids and wore her a tiara. She then put her own make up on China's face because China owned no make up.

Her father and step mother never let her use make up for no other reason than they didn't want her to appear more beautiful than her step sister although she already was naturally.

Finally, Delia wore her some jewelry and painted her nails with nail Polish before fitting her into silver Stilettos.

When China saw herself in the mirror she couldn't believe it,the years had gone by and she had developed into a very beautiful woman indeed, her mother would be proud.

"Don't you dare cry now and ruin my hard work." Delia taunted playfully at seeing China's change of emotions.

"Don't worry, I won't but don't you think all this is a little too much. It's not my wedding you know." China said with a smile.

"This is your first party and who knows when you'll get another opportunity again so make use of it. I know the jewelry, shoes and make up belong to me but I'm willing giving it to you. This is your day so you've gotta shine." Delia said and China hugged her.

"You're the best friend a girl like me could ever wish for, thank you." China appreciated.

"It's nothing, what are friends for? Now,I want you to go over there and have a good time. China you're such a nice person and you deserve to be happy." Delia encouraged before she broke from the hug and bade China goodbye.

China took a taxi and got to the Aurora mansion dressed as a guest. She exhaled and inhaled before walking into the mansion.

As she walked in gracefully, she attracted all attention as she stole the spotlight.

Alvin was mesmerized by her enchanting beautiful and mentally kicked himself for not noticing her all along and treating her so badly.

He asked for a dance and she accepted. They took to the floor and danced so well earning applause from the crowd.

"Have I told you that you're looking so pretty today?" Alvin whispered to her while they danced. She blushed and replied. "Thank you."

"I want to apologize." Alvin said as he cleared his throat. "For what?" She acted ignorant.

"For being such a jerk and making your life miserable." He apologized. "You weren't that much of a jerk." China said but he cut in "I know I was really a jerk. I let my hatred get in the way of my good judgment and I misunderstood you. You never had any bad intentions, you were only misunderstood." He said somberly.

"It's OK. I forgive you,I hold no grudges against you." She assured and then their dance ended. "Thank you." He said as they separated.
