Old Friends

"Hey... Chuti."

Raki couldn't understand who is talking with her nickname. Not only she, Rangika and Aruni also looked everywhere to find who is that., one girl waves her hand.

"She is there."

"Is she Ramida sis? Hello…."

"Let's meet after this meeting."

Amanda was in the corner, but they heard her voice, so they wave their head and thumbs up to show her. After seen her elder friends faces, they felt joy inside their heart. All the students seated in their own seat they have reserve for them. Raki and her friends found their seat in the row's middle. Few minutes later the room turn into a stormy because of the student's voice. they heard the 2nd bell ringing. Everyone felt silent.

With that silent Kalo and Luna enter the room with no noise. Raki notice his face is different, because at the 1st day when she saw him, Raki felt like he is familiar to him. But now he looks like a real monster. She didn't know why she felt like this. However, everyone felt huge fear inside their heart for him and for Luna.

Saying nothing, he addresses the meeting.

"I welcome you all for the mountain school as the headmaster of this school. I think you all saw the different between in here and your city. So, take help from your seniors and adjust into the school rules. And best of luck with your school works. I will not waste your time. I want to introduce one person is same as you. She came from the city and now she is the 2nd principle in your school. She is Jonara. From now she'll explain everything to you."

His speech isn't long as thought. He said everything what he wants to say and left the hall with Luna. Then Jonara addressed the students.

"Okay, I'm Jonara. I'm the 2nd Principle in here. As all of you I'm also came from the city."

With a huge smile she started her speech. Raki felt more relax with her speech and her kindness.

"After settle here, I had time to deal with you all and city principle. She is my best friend when we were studying in the school. Still our friendship in with us. When you're living here if you have any problem come and talk to me."

She explains everything for the 1st year students. Then she turns a huge book to talk more.

"Now I'll tell you what you have to do at the school. School will start from tomorrow at 8 o'clock. As usual what you did in the city school as a major subject you all have to continue in here also, but different methods and theories. And, there is 2 subjects those are elective. Don't forget you have to pass those subjects if you want to stay here and work."

Raki got shocked after hearing those things. She looks at her friends, same as here they also in a shocked mood. They had a lot to talk, but they knew this isn't the right palace for that.

"Those 2 subjects are History and Language. These 2 subjects made with according to the mountain culture and rituals. If you study well in these subjects, I can guaranty which you can achieve lot you never wish."

"Don't late for the school tomorrow. Now you can join with your seniors."

Principle finished her speech and left the hall. Then every students' mouth opened. They talk everything while leaving the hall. During that time Ramida and her friends came to find Raki and her friends.

"Hey…... Chuti is here."

"How are you? Hey sis doesn't shout with that name. You're embarrassing me."

While smiling Raki said.

"Why you guys are talking this innocent girl with that name? Chuti."

Ramida's friends had a curious. Not only Ramida, Aruni and Rangika also laugh together. Raki stayed silent because she tries to not to laugh because her nick name reason is her hair.

"See this Chuti's hair. Every girl has a long hair, but she has a short hair."

Her hair is short. Students who coming from the city, everyone has a long hair, because there is a rumor about the mountain boys like long hair girls. Raki doesn't like to grow her hair long, so every month she cut her hair. That reason her hair is shorter than others.

"What can I do? It's not growing."

"Oh….…."

Ramida laugh.

"We heard what happened when you all are coming. Anything happened?"

Ramida said that with a serious tone. Anger that they have isn't vanish yet, so Aruni talked first.

"Don't even mention that bird and owner. If I could throw both into the river, definitely I'll do."

Aruni gnash, but everyone laughs. She doesn't know about the serious about her speech even others.

"Hey stupid girl. Do you know the owner of the bird?"

Ramida's friend asked high voice. Juniors knew they're not joking, so they listen to her carefully. Whatever they talk still they didn't know who the owner of the bird is.

"Who is that?"

"Who else, he is Agni. He is the most famous, bad, arrogant, stupid and most popular ego in this mountain. He never listens to anyone. He is from Fire tribal and he is one of the leader's son. So, guys I heard from the birth he cares these attitudes."

Raki got shocked after listen to the seniors' information. She felt they all escape from the huge danger.

"OMG.... We're luck."

"Why?"

Rangika said while holding her head, but Ramida couldn't understand what she is trying to say.

"They try to kill the bird, because we refuse to come here. Raki stop that. You're a genius Raki. If something happened to that bird. I don't know what will happen to us."

"That's true."

Aruni also agree with the friend.

"You can see the future my chuttie." Ramida's friends laugh.

"Is he terrible? I would like to see him."

Raki said while laughing. Seniors knew her wish isn't going to fulfil anytime. There was a reason.

"No one saw that bumptious face."

"Why?"

"Does he wear a mask?"

"Don't Lie."

After hearing Ramida, they got huge questions, because how could no one couldn't watch one person's face. That's impossible."

"I'm not lying. Ask from them."

Three of the juniors couldn't believe what they are saying.

"Ramida isn't lying. No one saw his face until now."

"Because every time he wears a hoody to cover his face."

Ramida's two friends Kavindya and Thilini both confirm the friend's speech. Juniors had to believe their speech.

"May be someone slap his face. I think a girl."

"No ... No, he may try to propose a girl and she rejects his propose. Since, he covered his face, because of the shy,"

"Let's say boot boy. Not Agni."

They all laugh together for these stupid little girls talk.

"Hey.... Do you all want to die from the boot boy? If he heard theses everything, he will kill us."

Kavindya couldn't stop her laugh. She talks while laughing.

"Okay ... okay. Now let's go to the school."

Thilini proposed that idea because she wants to stop her laugh. Everyone agrees with her because they also wanted to see their new school. For that tour Navodya and Pushpa both join in the middle.

When they enter the medical faculty, they met the boys that study in that section. This time they had none boys for the first year for the medical section.

"This time we have none boys for the medical."

"What how come?"

"They said paper was difficult."

Juniors listen to their discussion saying nothing.

"Don't worry. We have junior sisters."

One of the talkative boy name Chanchala said while looking at them strangely. Ramida try to introduce them from their own names, but Chanchala stop her.

"We don't want their real names. Let's give them our patterns names."

Raki bite her mouth because she wants to stop her laugh towards Chanchala's talk and behaviour.

"Don't worry about this Chuttie, because she already has a name since our previous school. Don't change that Chanchala. Okay."

Ramida talk while showing Raki. She felt a little shy because everyone's eye turns into her side. She never wants to catch other's eye turn into herself.

"She is Raki. We called her Chuttie."

"Chuttie.... Why?"

Chanchal came in front of everyone and put his hand in Raki's shoulder and showed her hair and laugh. Everyone laughs including Raki. They laugh until eyes covered with tears.

"No…. That's not the reason."

Raki told a lie to avoid the embarrass. At the first day at the school she doesn't want to desolate in-front of the seniors.

"I think Chanchala is true. Ramida you gave her fantastic name."

"We all know how our girls are enchanted into mountain boys. First time we saw a girl like Chuttie."

Their jokes are isn't a main reason for embarrassing Raki. She understood that, so she also laughs with them. She doesn't care about that anymore. However, Chanchala confirm her name as Chuttie. Also, he said as a respect they will be called from that name. Raki couldn't do any even more. Not only her all the other four juniors got their names.

Rangika–Girikula (Huge Rock)

Aruni–Runthaka (One of a tooth)

Pushpa–Badura (Dangerous Flower)

Navodya–Danthanayaka (bad teeth)

Everyone laughs after listen to their names. Chanchala is the main person in this field, so he is suggesting the names first and others confirmed his idea. Raki thought her previous name was better than other names.

That was the most beautiful time they had spent after coming to the mountain.

"It's like mosquitos talk."

Without Raki other all reject their new names because no one can't talk those names in front of anyone. They all beg for cancel their names. Finally, they agree with them.

"What ever happened we will not change this Chuttie's name."

Chanchala said while showing Raki. She couldn't do anything, but she laughs with others. They spent lots of time with joking with seniors. They didn't even feel that time is flying fast. After finishing everything at the first day they came to their rooms in the night. No one said anything because today is their first day and they got their first and last freedom.

"OMG… I'm exhausted today."

Navodya said while touching her back. Not Only her everyone was tired. From yesterday they couldn't sleep well.

"Oh…. Really Danthanayaka. Don't forget to unpack your luggage. Tomorrow is your first day at school. Don't sleep without finishing your work. Got it. This is big advice from your Chuttie."

Raki laugh and remind them.

"O...…. H.... No Chuttie."

"Yes. I will sleep. Good Night."

Today is the day at the school. Everyone was in a panic. There were only five students for the medical faculty. That reason became a reason for their nervous. Whatever they felt no one talk about their feeling. On the first day they had their usual subjects but according to mountain syllabus. So, they couldn't use their modern ideas. They had to learn old medical method.

"What a rubbish."

On the first day Raki felt like she is learning useless things. Although, in the evening they had to learn history and language subjects at the main hall with all students. That was fun, but subjects are difficult.

Luna was the history teacher at the class. All students understood she is one of the terrible-teacher in the school because she doesn't even care about the students and doesn't want to know those juniors understood the subject or not. No one couldn't understand her lecture.

Raki couldn't even analysis the motive of the subject. When she was a child, she had studied history as a subject, but not like this.

"What is this nonsense she is talking. Did their history is like a garbage?"

Pushpa whisper angrily. Her face already became red.

"If I knew this will happen before. I'm not coming to this class."

"Oh gosh Badura. Why your shouting? See how wonderful class this is. We can sleep 1 hour."

Raki said quietly, but some students heard that. They couldn't even stop their laugh. After 1 hour they finished their class. After the history class they had to attend language class. The name of the teacher was Gaurav. He's worse than Luna. Raki shout her eyes while thinking did, she came to a mental hospital.

Not like other days every student felt like time is a stop in somewhere. They pray to god to move the time faster. Around 4 o'clock every classes finished, and students could go to their rooms. While walking they met their seniors.

"Sis... do we really want to study those 2 stupid elective subjects?"

Rangika directly asked them to clarify her answer. That remind their first day at the mountain. Same as these juniors they also face this situation and they also got that question.

"Why what happened?"

"Don't asked what happened. Ask what not happened in there."

"I can't understand even a single word."

Aruni was really worried about her situation.

"Whatever happened I'm really like to attend those two classes. One-hour history and one-hour language. That means 2 hours sleeping."

Raki found the freedom in those 2 classes. She didn't even worry a little. Everyone thought as a joke and laugh, but Thilini explain the situation that will happened in future for them.

"Hey, Chuttie. Don't take that as simple as that. When you are facing the exam, you can cry in the exam hall if you didn't focus well in the class."

Raki didn't even thought much about the senior advice, but she said nothing. Because she tries to respect her advice. Without Raki others all try to think about that and worried about their studies.

On the first day Raki understood the mountain people's real. So, she could predict what happened in the future for her and her friends.

"That's true. Luna is the worst person. She is like a bomb."

In a short word Kavindya explain about the teacher.

In the evening, everyone stayed very disappointed, because of the evening lecture. They knew in the future also same as this and nothing will change.
