Ranked families,

Empire capital,

City A, Noble clan district;

"The girl, has done well,"

The voice was loud enough for all to hear with a hint of joy; it was a man.

To his left was a woman wrapped in a body-hugging dress with a sheer outer coat.

She wore a bracelet, matching necklace, and earrings.

Her hair was styled to fall down the length of her back, emphasising the length while showing off its sheen.

Her phoenix eyes were extremely attractive and overall her face.

She looked delicate, but also seductive.

The man who spoke was older, but because of his innate power, he looked no older than thirty.

His form was slim, tapered waist, long masculine legs and hair cut and styled stylishly.

His forehead was high, nose straight, lips thin, with a teardrop mole just below his eyes.

At the age of two hundred, one would think this man would be married with children of his own, but he would rather relax when he was not managing his extended family of; uncles, aunts, brothers and sister, nieces and nephews.

Right now he felt that what he was seeing was something that could make him settle down and become a father.

The man smiled, unconscious of his female companion, who spared him a look before focusing on the screen.

There was a large transparent screen with photos of the students taking part. Each representative from among the ranked families sat and studied the videos provided.

They had found entertainment with these tests, finding future wives and husbands that would enable them to monopolise the best genomes for their bloodlines.

"The girl with the lazy look and dark skin, she seems to be much more than she is actually showing us."

A lazy voice spoke. He sat slouching in his oversized chair partially enshrouded in darkness hiding most of his face.

His attire was a simple high collar suit with a wide sleeve robe serving as an oversized coat.

Among those present he was ranked among the top.

None took him seriously because he had a rather forgetful presence.

One must become alert, though. When he spoke, the aura of an innate person of his rank would flare, making them feel as though they were on the verge of being crushed.

therefore, all present had no choice but to focus on him.

A nervous laugh was heard, and all eyes focused on the dark-skinned girl who mostly sat during the swamp test, but still, she ranked as the overall fifth.

This, though, was because of the last battle when she had become an underdog in the last test ranking overall as fifth.

They wanted to know what had occurred back then, but there was no feed present.

It was disappointing.

Since the lazy Prince took notice of her then she held a decent amount of power, no?

This was the thought of a few. They then began to consider the girl and peruse her information.

Some became rather shocked at what they found, especially her surname, which was none other than Wu.

One should know that the Wu Clan had secluded themselves from society, they had even travelled all the way to that small country, many had forgotten their presence finding other exciting matters but now.

To know that the Wu Clan had a daughter, and one like that!

That voice became so nervous that the words trailed off.

"Fifth Prince…"

"Mm, I just find her similar to myself, don't you think? Now I wonder during the sea test how she will fare. The others are interesting too, but she has piqued my interest."

The fifth Prince announced, leaning forward drawing the darkness with him. For a moment you could glimpse a long pale hand, slim fingers and the glistening of eyes that blazed like the sun just before they were once again swallowed up by the darkness.

---

Wu Jie,

How many days had I stayed in my room?

Ah, I lost count now, I just felt that if my eyes did fall on that vast body of water I might freak out and go all ape s*it crazy!

still, though my room is royal level luxury.

It is a sprawling, beautiful sight. It was so luxurious that I could not help upon the first time I entered, but to simply gasp in shock.

Alright, let us back peddle a bit before I go too far.

---

Everyone has their own fears; minor or major.

Everyone wishes to survive. This is an indisputable fact to all living creatures.

We as a living organism will continue to do such a thing until the day we give up on living itself.

Just like how humans had strived and destroyed their own world.

Would they do the same? Even though they had evolved and found a new world?

A bigger one?

I'll never know. I will never understand.

"Greetings to the overall fifth-ranked student Wu Jie Tyna. My name: family; Thyme, first name Leonard. I will be your butler during the entire sea test."

There this servant surname Thyme, like the plant but pronounced 'time' stood there looking dashing in his four-piece suit, straight slim form and face-carved- from-stone watching me like a total creeper.

It is a creeper, because his eyes stared down at me like a hawk. Brutally, I rejected his offer. Why would I need his help? I had a system which had already scanned the ship and prepared to inform me of all I needed to know about the monstrosity for a floating vessel.

"Don't need it."

His face twitched. Unlike the once neutral feature, there was a crack. Good, I thought, but remember that he will still have to show me the way and inform me of what is what.

Yo! I face slapped myself, ah.

He seems to realise that I will need him and speaks up once again, in an insistent tone.

"Miss Wu, please allow me to at least show you the various functions and rooms."

The butler, ah… Thyme... Right Thyme.

Look how much a*s he can kiss though, or is he two face?

I'm not a big fan of two-faced people, they are tricky. You don't know which face is the real one—wait!

Why am I stressing her?

I mean, I can always gut him when I am fed up or have the ant queen eat him.

Feeling better, I simply nodded after his small request in agreement, waiting patiently for him to show the way.
