New Teachers

Mr Tan proved Li Yan wrong when the speech trailed off to the topic of Redwood Secondary School's history. Looking at Mr Tan's serene and peaceful expression while he caused agonization to the entire school, Li Yan resisted the urge to slap the old man's face, even though that was impossible. She turned to look at Kyline, who was still unfathomable.

It was a relief when the lengthy and boring speech was finally finished. The Sec 4s and 5s were dismissed to their classes first. Li Yan followed her new class to their new classroom, which was on the exact level the hall was, Level 2. The class just walked straight down a slope to the third classroom and they were told to deposit their phones in a blue rack under the whiteboard. Li Yan and Kyline sat together as everyone dispersed to sit down. 1E3's form teacher and co-form teacher had already been introduced in the hall. Li Yan wasn't too intidimated by the two female teachers. One was tall and had a slim figure. The other was larger in size and had a baby face. Both had jet-black hair pulled in a ponytail and wore glasses. The taller teacher introduced herself as Mrs Jennifer Yap and the other teacher was Miss Ong. The class greeted them. They gave their phone numbers to the silent class. Li Yan was a bit confused. Mrs Yap issued timetables.

Her old school had a offical email address given to each student but apparently this school didn't have one as it was not technology-based. Li Yan's phone had only been given at Primary 6.

All her communications had been made using email. Although Li Yan was still baffled to why the teachers gave their phone numbers, she still wrote then down in case of emergency.

It was the first day for the Sec 1s so everything was still new to them. Li Yan collected her phone and followed everyone to recess as the class was dismissed. The canteen was on the first floor but Li Yan was confused to why the teachers didn't follow them down as her previous teachers did. Li Yan also had a Ms Ong in her old school, which she missed dearly.
