Ding! Ding! Ding!

As the sound of bells kept ringing, more notifications spammed in every corner of Blue's eyes, popping here and there like bubbles. He is somewhat annoyed, but never cared less of it. Not bothering with the messages, he pushes his focus on grinding the blade.

*Ding!*

[System Announcement: You have successfully blade-wash a Sharp Iron Sword.]

Keen Sword (Silver)

ATK: 36.3 - 72.6

Stamina: +110.1

[Note: Once a Rusty Old Sword, now it is filled with new life!]

---

Althougth the effects of Sharpening skill is good, he couldn't believe that a mere 10% is an abnormal increase in stats. It even affected the additional Stamina effect! If you make two or more swipes with Blade-washing skill, the chances of getting a stronger weapon is no doubt not too slim. A blade-washed weapon can at least be stronger as the highest qualities. With this skill, he could make a weapon that surpasses an Ancient quality, or maybe, an Archaic!

But that will be in another time. For now, what Blue needed to do is to finish the task at hand.

Despite Blade-washing did bring him good benefits, he still uses Sharpening twice on the Rusty Old Sword. Reason? He wanted to see if he can complete the quest by making 20 Silver Keen Swords out of it. From the quest, there is no indication about what quality they should be, so he decided to at least give it a try. At first, he was thinking of sharpening them to Gold but gave up the idea.

It will just take too long. This is enough. He thought. Throwing the nineteenth blade to an organized stockpile of swords, he took the last Rusty Old Sword and begins to sharpen it.

[System Announcement: You have successfully blade-washed a Keen Sword.]

[System Announcement: Congratulations! You leveled up to 2 in Blacksmithing! Because you leveled up a life class, you earn +10 Skill points.]

Nice, I got ten more Skill points! Now, I have thirty all together. Blue is in a jovial mood, almost jumping like a kid who just won a candy. All that is left is to get himself a Skill book!

It is a shame that he can't add these to his blacksmith skills.

Wiping the dust off his hands, he turns to Blacksmith Hermit, "I'm done!"

"Aiyah, what took you so long? Was it that hard to sharpen a blade?" Hearing that from his dwarven mouth, Blue couldn't help but feel somewhat amused. You're the one to talk, weren't you having a hard time when you first tried?

Hermit grabbed one sword from the stockpile and takes a closer inspection. His pupils dilated into dots the next second, rubbing his eyes as if he was dreaming.

"Eh? You made the sword too sharp! All of these swords too, yet they're Silver Quality! You wasted your time making these?" Hermit looks at Blue in shock.

"We're in a war, Respected Grand Master. And this is different from any war that all living has ever encountered. We are fighting against Sauron and his Dark Army. When you told me your issues about the weapons, I knew I needed to do something. So I must at least contribute here as much as I can, before I go outside of the walls." Blue spoke as he thought of this word by word.

"I understand. Young squire, you're one of the most courageous people I've ever met. Because of your consideration and bravery, I gifted you these robes." Now admiring Blue even more, he took out a box and opens it. In the box, there is a white and blue robe with golden-red runes sewn on each fabric. The cloth is also attached to a breast plate armor.

[System Announcement: You have completed the Hidden Quest (Sharpen and Wash). You received an Alliance Armored set, 50 silver coins and 50,000 EXP.]

[You moved up to LVL 5.]

Well, that's expected. The reward is handsome, especially the EXP reward. And for the 50 silver coins, it seems pretty fair since this is just a Level A Quest. The quests above that level are the only ones rewarding gold coins. As for low quests like D, E, and F and -F, they give out only bronze coins.

Adding this to the Level S Quest rewards, at least he will be rich. There is no point in expecting more about the armor set.

Until, Blue looked at the interfaces.

What?

He couldn't believe what he just saw. They are all Gold and have good stats! And he is almost half way to level 10!

In a Level A Quest, this armor set should've at least be Silver! The rewards of every Level Quest are balanced, right? This is just too much!

"Oh, I almost forgot. You're here for your weapon, right?" Hermit takes out a shiny silver sword. It had a golden handle, and the blade also have runic symbols on its surface and it is very sharp.

"Since you're Sigurd's squire, this is my congrats."

*Ding!*

This time, Blue have ignored the notifications. He stares at the sword in his hands as if he actually won a $1,000,000 lottery.

Shi***! This thing's overpowered! Why is this a fu***ing Ancient?!

"This is what blacksmiths always do when there's a soldier being promoted as a squire. So I forged this sword the other day, just in case if Sigurd accepts some lucky guy. But that sprawlless friend of mine didn't bother to look for a fledgling to take under his wing! Since I met you today and learned a few new things, I tried your methods on this. This used to be Silver quality." Hermit laughed proudly while he pats him on the back.

Only then, did Blue realize the cause after hearing his explanation.

He forgot this dwarf is a Grand Blacksmith Master. Just one swipe on a weapon with these so-called artistic methods in his big hands, the weapon will go up to three quality ranks. Not to mention, the Blade-washing skill...

I wonder if his skill has a bigger bonus than mine, Blue bitterly smiles.

"Oh, before you go look for Sigurd's squad, bring these newly born swords to him. He and his brothers would really appreciate this." The dwarf points at the neatly stocked swords which were tied with a strong cloth.

System Announcement: You received a Quest from Blacksmith [Swordboy] (Quest Level: C)

Quest Description: Bring the stocked swords to Elite Commander Sigurd.

Rewards:

Swordboy's Band

This accessory equipment must be a Bronze quality. Nothing to expect from this normal quest. Virtue is its own reward[1], right?

Oh wait, he got an overpowered equipment from a Level A Quest, and an overpowered weapon from a Level S Quest as rewards.

And he still haven't finished the second part of the quest! As a beginner player in this newly advanced game, how can he be this lucky?!

---

1. Virtue is its own reward - the reward for acting in a moral or correct way is the knowledge that you have done so, and you should not expect more than this.
