10 Confrontation with the Undead

"Wait... Are you sure you can handle that?" Sigurd couldn't help but feel nervous, and asked.

Blue gave it a thought, and spoke with a shrug, "It's worth a try."

This left the elite commander speechless. Even his squad, who have indeed heard his answer, almost cough out blood.

As an NPC, he knew how hard is this Hell Mode. It is super difficult to an extreme degree! Instance Dungeons aren't something for show and the level of difficulty above normal can be really frightening. An Elite Dungeon is also an Instance Dungeon but in a different way. Although the mobs have a percentage increase in HP and damage, in Dead Warzone the mobs would be around levels 11-15, but that level range was only in normal, medium, and hard mode. There is also a level range of 12-20. That's right. Level 20 monsters do exist in this dungeon, but only one, and they're only available in this particular mode. Not to mention, the mobs around Level 20 are also Hidden Bosses!

Could this player have known there really was a Hidden Boss? And he wants to kill it? If so, his choice is basically beyond suicidal. Not only did the mobs in this mode here have a triple increase in their statistics, they can be hard to deal with, unless the players are fully prepared to take on the challenge.

"This is something you need to discuss with your party."

Blue looks at him, his blank face made a weird look, and says, "Let me be honest with you, Commander. From the moment I was born, I was forced to survive in a cruel environment where none lended a hand, leaving me to only depend on myself. Although I have survive numerous times, I became a lone wolf among a flock of sheep and I couldn't trust anyone due to my past experiences."

"Until I met you. You are different from all those selfish bastards I met. So this time, I'm taking this seriously and I won't be a burden to you. Like what you just said, Commander, we're in a war and we must eliminate the whole Dark Army by any means necessary."

After he finished, Sigurd just stares at him in ridicule. For a moment, he thought of Blue as one of his kind, a human NPC. Do you have to explain your personal life just to tell me that you don't have anyone on your end? And you have to retort my words back to me? He didn't know whether to laugh or cry. But due to being programmed by the system, he was moved. For God's sakes, he is majorly moved!

"I know we'll be going together in this dungeon, and you also have a good equipment. But you must have enough support items in order to clear this."

"I already have."

Blue isn't stupid. This difficulty is definitely not something to mess with. Even the word "HELL" clarifies it.

When he completed the first Prologue Quest, besides the Ancient equipment, he also received ten large Health potions. Although these potions aren't necessary for him, he thought about using them on Hell mode if there was any chance to come across an Instance Dungeon. So he spent most of the earnings he gained from the rewards to buy twenty small Health potions and five medium Health potions, including a sum of twenty Mana potions. He is now left with 13 gold coins and 75 silver coins in total.

Now that he finally encountered an Instance Dungeon, Blue couldn't help but feel excitement rushing over him. He is very eager to take on this mode with all he got.

If someone tells him he's crazy, Blue would often say, "I just like being challenged." As a gamer, he loves to take the hardest stages to make his adrenaline burst, with his brain cells going crazy. Instance Dungeon works best in this field, but it is only second to PVP. Win or lose; live or die (not literally), he didn't care the slightest, but he would take it serious if its dire. Right now, he is being himself and he couldn't wait to feel the wave of emotions and the familiarity coming back to him in this first virtual experience. Carefree and jovial as he used to be, he even have a sense of chivalry towards the trial. It is as if he is telling everyone around him that he can solo this Hell mode better than anyone.

That's what he likes about games. You can be whoever you want to be in this other world. So for Blue, his play character Perseus is his counter part. As Perseus, he is free. As the challenger, he will rise in this virtual realm as the Supreme King once again.

Hell mode, let's see what you have in store for me.

The iron gates lifted, and Blue along with the squad entered the Dead Warzone. They make up of a 25-man group, and Pope Friar Baron and an elven Night Ranger Diana are among them.

An aura in dark violet basked the region upon their entrance. Another Death Wave has been released by Dark Necromancer Niadamar once again.

The dead woke up. Their shaking limbs supported them to stand, and as their eyes landed on Blue and the co, hunger is evident as they snarl their monsterous teeth.

Sigurd sneers, unsheathing his sword. His eyes glaring back at them with a mad killing intent. Even if they look like their brothers, they have been dead long ago. These things are just a bunch of mindless creatures with no souls.

"Sauron has shown us no mercy. So let us repay him and his army by doing the same! For hope and the Alliance!"

"For hope and the Alliance!" The soldiers shouted, their weapons already unsheathed.

Blue and the two other NPCs also readied their own arms.

"Attack!!!!"

With that, they charged. The zombies reacted to their presence a little bit late. Soon, a huge uproar and constant clashes of metal resounded throughout the Dead Warzone.

The swordsmen and bersekers fought with their swords, while the spearmen stabbed their spears through the zombies' heads, and archers fired a rain of arrows.

Night Ranger Diana ran across the field with a black dagger in hand. Her slender feminine figure swept through the crowd like a shadow, and headed straight for the large mob. While dancing with her blade, she slit the throats of numerous zombies within seconds, beheading her enemies as they fall to her foot.

Sigurd, on the other hand, reminded them of an actual berseker instead of a knight. His attacks were merciless, bashing his shield on a zombie's head which then splattered like a watermelon. He quickly turned, piercing through five mobs with his sword like he was making some barbecue.

The zombies were relentless, but Sigurd's squad have the upper hand. No one died and only received minor damages, which Blue and Friar didn't bother. Wasting a health potion and a Cure skill on a small injury is another definition for dumb.

The whole battle went smoothly as they expected, but they couldn't help but feel worried for Blue.

He is fighting against five undead knights.

---

Undead Alliance Knight

Level: 15

HP: 4,500/4,500

---

Sigurd and the rest thought of rescuing him until Blue signaled them with an assuring smile.

There is no need for rescue.

Everyone had a fright when the undead knights attacked at the same time. They could imagine a horrible instant death waiting for him, yet he just stands there and let his guard down. But the truth is, it was the opposite of their expectations.

When the mobs got closer to him, his adrenaline began to burst.

Blue isn't called the Supreme King for nothing. Neither his talents brought him such fame, whether he liked it or not, and they're considered secondary. To survive in a death situation, one must not only have fighting power and strength but intellect. Knowledge is power, and with it you can make it out alive from a burning building. Common sense is also part of this knowledge.

Blue only confronted zombies, but none of them have the common sense left in their heads and simply followed their ravenous instincts. Using his own common sense, although they are indeed fast, their response to stimuli is rather slow. They're even dumber than a flock of chickens due to the lack of brain cells. The creators did a job well done on making these mobs, the undead knights acted the same as mindless pawns of an evil necromancer. This is one of Blue's advantages.

Within milliseconds, Blue made a quick back flip. The undead knights have already swung their swords, but they were rather slow, and the tip of their blades just missed him by a hair.

While in midair, Blue unsheathes his Fateful Squire Sword five times. The sword hilt landed precisely on each of the back necks of his enemies.

[Pommel Strike]: Level: 10/100, Instant, AoE hit count: 5, 14 seconds cool down, attacking enemies with a sword rear. A single target attack that deals 545% damage while ignoring 45% of the target's defense. Has the chance to [Stun]. Effect lasts for 30 seconds. Level Requirement: 33.

The damage he inflicted popped up above their heads in unison.

-590

Stun!

All five of them stood there, paralyzed.

Blue added the skill points to Pommel Strike just to make it to Level 10, leaving him with only 24 points. He also leveled up Van Thrust to 3, with only 12 points added in total. A level 3 OP skill is enough to wipe out these mobs with just four slashes. But he shouldn't waste this on normal mobs due to its large mana consumption. Plus, he had other plans with this skill so he didn't use it.

Descending to the ground, he hastens his pace. He sends out normal attacks to the five zombies, decreasing their HP while the 30 second stun ticks in. Although he is two levels lower than these mobs, the damage was drastic and his sword have been landing on specific spots as if they were weak points.

-690!

-780!

-850!

-900!

-1201!

His attacks were precise and the damage infliction increased in an extraordinary progress due to a certain effect from his Alliance Armor; light elemental damage attacks increased by 10%. Since the undead knights have a relation with dark elements, this effect kicked in and managed to deplete most of their health after Blue's normal strikes.

Their HP are now around 339!

But the stun effect ended, freeing the undead knights from the paralysis.

This doesn't mean he should withdraw. Instead, Blue lunged his sword forward, and stabs the chest of the mob that is close to him.

-400!

One undead knight died in his blade, but the corpse didn't disappear. The remaining undead knights saw what happened, and they turned furious. They sent out crude swings with their swords like madmen. But Blue just uses their comrade's body as a meat shield, which they ended up disfiguring without a second thought. With a perfect timing, he throws the mutilated corpse at them to delay their next attack, and makes three slashes.

-390!

-450!

-500!

Three undead knights were killed.

Only one remaining.

But the last zombie, as dumber as its comrades, happened to bite him from behind.

-500!

Blue is now left with almost half of his total HP.

Shi***!

He didn't turn around, but he retaliates within 0.1 seconds by having his sword pierced through its rotten skull.

-650!

The undead knight retracted its teeth, and fell lifeless on Blue's back.

The contact between decayed flesh and his virtually natural skin, have made him shudder in an unpleasant way. He felt like he can blemish from that single, cold, coarsed touch. Frightened, he pushes the corpse off his back.
