9 Chapter Eight:

It's been a few days since we'd gone to the library. My aunt would read me the book I picked out before maps and bed for the night. It really improved my grip on the etherian alphabet. She'd explain vocabulary words, even though I already knew the meaning of them I think it'd be weird if I already knew them. They thought I was odd enough I didn't want to help that along.

The book was interesting enough but it felt incomplete. But, then again, with history books when is it ever the full story? Hell, in my world they were doing incremental changes to history books every year. Changing who fought on which side, changing what they fought for, hell, even sugar coating what they did or demonizing those they were at war with. Well, when I was alive at least. The now then might not be the now....Well, now.

What little it does tell me is a brief history of the Hooded Lady's endeavors and how she, and eight others, built Celestial City. They dubbed them the Makers. Some, well, actually all the names were familiar to me. They were mighty figures from their worlds. I shouldn't be surprised anymore but I can't help it. Especially when it gives me a better idea of who, or what, is in this world.

I already knew of One Piece, Magi, and Black Clover characters were in this world but it's still something to read my ancestor was friends, and founders, with not only Lemiel SIlvamillion Clover, but also Licht of the elves. It was also surprising to learn Lady Scheherazade was a founder as well.

What I didn't know was that Vampire Knight's Kaname Kuran was a founder. Along with Inutaisho from Inuyasha, Ywach from Bleach, and Hiryuu from Yona of the Dawn. I wasn't sure where this Poseidon came from but from the description of her being a large and beautiful mermaid I'm guessing she's Princess Shirahoshi's ancestor.

She was born with great magic but with no attribute to her magic she was unable to use it, aside from enhancing her own body's natural capabilities. Such as strength, healing, and stamina. Along her journey she not only made friends, she'd created a way for herself to use magic through tools. She imbued them using magic from artifacts that absorbed the natural magic over the centuries. She was the first to create weapons and armor imbued with magic and at the time she had rocked the magic community to the core.

Some believed what she'd created as an affront to magic. Aunt Ash said there are still those today who believe what my family can do as cheating or easy magic. Even though the weapons and tools my family has created over the centuries are being used worldwide, granted they're not exactly like the weapons and armor my family uses but they are used as focusing tools for those who struggle with their magic or they use them as extensions to their magic. Guess there's hypocrites in all worlds.

She'd left the Witch's Forest to see the world at the young age of sixteen. She'd met Lemiel first on the island of Empyris. And it was thanks to Lemiel that she first got the idea to make magic tools to harness her magic. After about a year the two, along with Secre, left Empyris, Tetia agreeing to stay to keep the rest of the 'royalty' on the island in check, apparently there was severe classism that my ancestor strongly disagreed with.

They were heading for Mistral to try and visit Atlantis, the home of the mer-folk and fishmen. They'd hit a large hurricane and ended up on the lost lands of the elves: Tir na nOg. It was believed the elves had disappeared completely, their islands disappearing with them. While there she'd saved a young elf from drowning and spent almost two years proving herself to them through their trials. The book doesn't get into detail about what the trials were but for them to take at least two years to complete they had to be something.

When they finally left to continue her journey Licht and three of his closest friends left with her to show the world elves were still alive. Hoping to show the other elves it was time to rejoin the world and not hide away.

They'd made a few stops on different islands along the way until they reached Maldorran in the desert of Hell's Walk. There she earned the respect of Kaname Kuran when she'd used her words to stop the unlawful execution of a demon child, after that he joined her on her adventures. It doesn't go into details about why the child was to be executed but from there she explored all of Hell's Walk. Even climbing the plateaus of Heliohapt.

When they'd reached Heliohapt she met Inutaisho and Inukimi, the parents of Sesshomaru. Though, he wasn't born yet. I wondered if I'll get the chance to meet him and what he'll be like in this world. She'd made a name for herself among the demon clans, settling differences not only between them but the other races as well. She wanted to show them, to show the world, that the races could get along. Even help each other. From what I've read her and her friends were making quite the headway.

From there she headed across the desert to the city of Meridian, Inutaisho and Inukimi joining their merry band of misfits. There she met the elemental of light, Lady Scheherazade. I suppose in this world magi translates to elementals, maybe. She even participated in their gladiatorial ring and continued showing the mages of the city what her and her friends could do, what the world could be. Impressing Lady Scheherazade and earning her friendship.

She had finally made it to Atlantis and even I marveled at the thought of visiting the fantastical underwater city. They met all kinds of mermaids and fishmen. Even going so far as to become friends with a person named Poseidon, whom I'm guessing is the ancestor of Shirahoshi and her family just by the name. Poseidon even joined them on their journey, wanting to see the surface world for themself after millennia of the mer-folk hiding deep in the sea from the world. They'd made it back to Mistral, intending to continue on their journey towards the north.

But, hearing of her, the dragons of the skies requested to meet her and her friends. Being hunted for centuries, only a few hundred were still alive so they'd fled to the floating islands and cloaked the ones they'd claimed as their land. Like the elves most thought they were extinct. Even so, their king, Hiryuu, met with her. He wanted his people to rejoin the races, to not be hunted anymore. He had them brought to the floating island of Storm Peaks. She met with Hiryuu and his council of dragon clan leaders, talking over how to build the world into the image they'd been dreaming of.

She continued to travel the world with her friends, trying to figure out a way to bring the races together. Creating a few new magic weapons and armor along the way. She even started teaching her three siblings how to make tools the way she did. Even having a daughter, though it doesn't say with who. I didn't realize she had siblings either, though it makes sense with how big a family Aunt Ash tells me I have.

When the city was finally put in the works a war had broken out. A war they simply named The Bloody World War. It doesn't get into detail how the war was started and why but it was so intense, fighting had engulfed almost every corner of the world. It lasted five years, hundreds of thousands of people- mage, demon, elemental, fishman, dragon alike-were dying. It all came to a head on what's now simply called the Island of the Fallen. A land mass just north east of where the city is now.

It ended with the island being bathed in blood and the Hooded Lady's death. It doesn't say how she died only that hundreds of soldiers, many being her friends, fought beside her. Only four people survived the battle and finished the city in their fallen friends' honor, making sure of their memory,\. Her memory. Not be tainted with anymore hate among the people of the world and that Celestial City would be open to all.

Pretty noble, if you ask me. It made me feel honored to be born to her bloodline if I was being honest. I hope one day to learn more of what transpired then but I doubt it.
