33 Chapter 32: Get Together with Friends

"That's good! Guide them here," Layla said immediately, thankful that she didn't need to come up with other reasons to defend what she said.

"Hello, Loraine, Layla, long time no see!"

Regina and their other friends finally arrived and greeted them.

After ten minutes, all the people Layla invited came.

Loraine could recognize most of them from the memories she received.

Most of the people who came were acquaintances from the university they went to and people from their circle.

"Hello everyone, it's nice to see you guys again," Layla greeted everybody.

Regina, who was also one of the most sociable people, started talking and asking questions.

"Hello guys, we haven't seen you guys around lately. Where did you even go?"

"I went to Hati."

"I just went to Le Country."

With Regina starting the conversation, the other people who came also started to chatter.

From the conversation around her, Loraine gathered that most of the people who came were bored or had nothing else to do.

Most of the people here were also from their circle, so it was no surprise that they came out to play.

Their parents or brothers were the ones responsible for working, so they had the time to play and enjoy the resources they had.

The people who were here also knew each other very well because, from the time of their university until now, most of them have been hanging out with each other.

Unlike what was often shown in dramas and novels, even if most of them here were what they call the 'rich second generation,' they have their strengths.

In dramas, it was often shown that rich second generations were not capable but were only arrogant.

It could be said that the people Loraine was with really acted arrogantly and had bad personalities, but at least they wouldn't do anything excessive.

From what she could remember from her memories, all the people attending today's get-together have graduated with their strengths and abilities.

They also have their own businesses.

Even if they were not the ones managing them, it was evident that most of them had the ability to do it on their own.

But because the family had a lot of capable people, they could do away without management and just leave the rest to others.

The people gathered here didn't have a lot of ambition, and they were not dissatisfied with what they had.

They don't even care what others say to them and just happily enjoy their free time.

Looking at everyone chattering, Loraine smiled. She truly enjoyed living freely like this.

"Hey Loraine, did you hear what happened to the Hilton enterprise?" Regina asked.

"Oh, I just saw it on the news. Why?" Loraine acted nonchalantly.

She didn't know her friends would also discuss the Hiltons. Was it because the Hiltons were such a prominent family?

"Don't you know that because of the appearance of Mr. Alistair in a wheelchair, a lot of controversy has arisen?" Regina continued.

"Yeah, even when I'm still in Hati, I heard about it,'' Layla agreed.

"So what was the result of the issue?" Loraine asked, too lazy to get updated on her own.

Maybe she would learn something here about Mr. Alistair.

"After a few days, the issue died down. But I heard from my father that Alistair would be announced as heir to the Hilton Enterprise," Regina said.

'Oh, he's going to be the heir! This must be the reason why they had what he called a family squabble,' Loraine finally understood why Mr. Alistair was almost killed by his family members.

They must have been fighting over who would be the heir of the Hilton Enterprise.

And it led to Mr. Alistair almost getting killed. But now that he survived, he must have done his countermeasures and came out on top.

This was good news for Loraine. Helping Mr. Alistair proved to be even more fruitful than she thought.

The extent of what was within Mr. Alistair's power had grown with the entire Hilton Enterprise now under his control.

Her reward had just grown a couple of times.

Loraine wanted to laugh out loud but stopped herself.

"Yeah, my brother is also talking about that. Apparently, someone else was the appointed heir, but suddenly it was changed to Mr. Alistair," another friend added.

"Oh, then Mr. Alistair won a lot this time," Loraine said with a smile on her face.

'Mr. Alistair was truly very capable; he used his injuries to get a lot of benefits.' Loraine knew he must have played a part in the online news about him in a wheelchair.

"Yeah, he truly won a lot. I just don't know how serious his injury is because if it's really serious, then everything he won will have a chance to be snatched away again," Layla pointed.

That was also true. But only if Mr. Alistair was still that injured.

He must have recovered a lot by now, since he even met his friend for the sole reason of recovering more quickly.

Mr. Alistair hid his fangs with his injuries while he spread poison.

It was quite a strategy.

Loraine was impressed with how he maximized everything he could use, even his unfortunate injuries from the ambush that almost killed him.

"Yeah, anyway, let's go and play first," Regina said, not remembering that she was the one who started the conversation.

"Yes, let's go and play, everyone," Layla invited the others.

The topic of Mr. Alistair was easily forgotten.

Meanwhile, Loraine was looking forward to claiming a worthwhile reward from Mr. Alistair once she needed one.

Layla and everyone else drew lots to decide who goes first, so Loraine joined too.

They also started betting on who would get the highest score.

If other people had seen how much they were betting on in a simple game, they might have fainted.

Looking at some of the assistants who were having a hard time controlling their expressions, Loraine guessed it right.

She could tell that in their minds, they were thinking something along the lines of, 'D*mn these rich people!!'

It was rather ironic. Loraine used to be one of those assistants cursing her boss for wasting money on something like this.
