2 Ch. 2 To begin Anew

Luke lay in his bed unable to move in his newborn body, His mind filled with thoughts and ideas of what is really going on. He wondered where he was, what year it was, and most importantly who he is.

Every 5 to ten minutes a nurse, each with a blank expression came to check on him with the occasional feeding. It took several hours for somthing to change, this seemed boring to Luke just being on the brink of conciousness helped as he slept most of the time. Waking up for nurses to check him and his vitals. After what felt like an eternity to Luke, despite constantly being asleep a new face appeared, one with thoughtful smiles and what seemed like endless joy emanating from her. In contrast to the nurses she was practically an angel to Luke.

Luke immediately knew this was his mother, despite her joy she was clearly exhausted. The all too familiar hospital band on his mother's wrist read "Amy". Luke acknowledged this to be his mother's name, Amy then picked up Luke and said "Hi there my baby boy, I'm your Mother" Amy's pleasant voice was like music. Despite this, Luke started back coldly as he did not enjoy being coddled even as a baby. Whilst being tired he only played Amy little mind even though she was a fresh face.

Amy's continued, though Luke wasn't expecting anything important, his tiredness overwhelming him. Amy's words shocked Luke, "You can barely keep your eyes open are you tired, Luke?" she rhetorical asked, knowing Luke could not speak back. Luke's tiredness disappeared as he realized his mother called him Luke. He cared not about the question itself, but hearing his name, the one he was used to was all too comforting. Luke never dreamed he would hold his name through his next life. He thought this to be fate, Luke wasn't very superstitious, hence him being stunned and shocked by this development. He wondered if this was the cycle of life and if in every next life he would hold this name. If there were more after this that is. Luke still didn't believe this to be real yet, he feated it was mearly a dream as he passed away. He was baffled by it though in turn he was relived he had no worries for a new name. His mother droned on as Luke mearly contemplated his situation and took in as moch information as possible. He had little time for this as he was soon taken out of the hospital, his mother and him discharged. He realized the new world he was in as he saw the sights and wonders all around him. Luke didn't know what to think.

Everything was new and nothing looked like Earth. other than the brilliant blue sky sharing margins with the white clouds and the strong Ray's of the sun bearing down on his new skin. It was like a foreign land. The endless skyscrapers and elaborate arches the architecture beyond his thought modern comprehension. It was like a sci-fy shows version of a sci-fy show.

Upon reaching what Luke presumed to be his his new home he had the strangest sense of deja-vu the feeling only grew stronger as he reached the house. He was unsure why, but as Luke glanced his surroundings somthing caught his eyes. Black numbers on the white walls of a house, the one they were walking towards "237" the address was the same as his childhood home the memories of the past resurfaced, seeming like a rush of the torture and terror mixed with the joy and jealousy.

Luke wanted to cry, smile and slink away from everyone all at the same moment his mind was in shambels. As they walked in the house it struck him, this WAS his home had the same layout and almost identical exterior except the new sci-fy touches. Luke was confused at first but very quickly became very accustomed to his old-new house, if that makes sense.

though he new where he was and what he had a vuage sense of what was happening. Luke still shuddered and wondered why this was happening to him.
