In a flash of fire I appear in the dining room I left minutes ago. My parents were still there, and they looked about as worried as I thought they would. Especially my mother.
"Syrin!" I heard and my mother crashes into me. She squeezes the life out of me, and then checks me over for any injuries.
"Mom, I'm fine. Nova just wanted to show me her new power." I explain.
"Don't you ever do that again alright? We have a lot of precautions in place to keep you safe, and those precautions are practically useless if we don't know where you are." My mother explains. That's exactly why I had to leave though.
"Sure, I won't use Nova to travel without your consent unless it's an emergency." I say, and she sighs in relief.
"Where did she take you? I had the entire palace searched, so it wasn't anywhere here." My dad asks.
"She took me outside the city. Not too far though because I don't think she can travel anywhere she hasn't been before." I explain.
"It's good that you're safe." My father says.
"Yes, it is. Now I think you should get to bed. You're going to have an eventful day tomorrow." Mom says.
"Oh really? How will it be eventful?" I ask.
"You are starting training with your father tomorrow, and we've found a good battle energy teacher for you as well." She says.
"That's great! I've been dying to learn magic. Battle energy should be interesting too." I say, and head off to bed. When I'm alone in my room I hear a voice in my head.
'Master, there are four people watching you. Should I take care of them?' I hear.
'Souei, is that you?' I ask.
'Yes, Master. I have the telepathy skill.' Souei explains.
'That's convenient, so there are four people watching me, huh. Are they all working together?' I ask.
'Yes, they're also wearing similar attire.' He says.
'Then they're probably the aerie. My father has them protecting me. Wait, didn't you have a skill called mind manipulation.' I ask.
'Yes, I do. Would you like me to use it?' He asks.
'Yeah, make it so they think I went to sleep, and that no one else is in the room.' I say.
'It's done, Master.' He says, and exits my shadow.
"Good job, that will come in handy." I say, taking a seat on the couch. "Now, we need to come up with a game plan. I was recently placed in this world in a similar way to you, but I have many enemies. Some that are inherited from my family, and others that I made myself. You are the perfect person I could have summoned because of your ninja and spy skills. I need you to use your clones to start gathering information. First, start with the palace and work your way outwards. The real you should always stay with me though. I'm too vulnerable at the moment, so you will be in charge of protecting me from my shadow." I explain.
"Of course, Master. That's easily done." He says.
"Good, also send some of your clones out to hunt core beasts, and see if your rank increases even without the real you being there." I say, and Souei nods.
"I have an idea if that's alright?" He asks.
"Of course, feel free to speak your mind." I said.
"With your permission, I can start recruiting and building your own order of spy/assassins. They would be trained by my clones, so my time would still be spent protecting you." He offers.
"Good idea. If you need funds either steal them from some disreputable people, or send some clones to the adventurers guild to complete quests." I say.
"I'll start tonight, Master." Souei said.
"Good, I have to get some sleep for tomorrow. Make sure to look into the Queen and the Crowned Prince as well." I inform Souei, as I climb into bed to sleep. "Goodnight Souei"
"Goodnight, Master." He says, as he creates clones and disappears into my shadow.
The next morning I get up as usual to do my adventurer training. Then after that, I go to my normal lessons, and then finally it's time to learn something new. My dad's still busy until later today, so I'm going to my battle energy lesson first. Mom said that we can't do this one outside because of the teacher, so we are using one of the indoor training rooms in the palace. My mom takes me there and I see a man dressed in all black from head to toe with a bird symbol on his clothes.
"Is this one of the aerie?" I look at my mom and ask.
"Yes, he's the best battle energy teacher we could find you, so be sure to learn as much as you can." She says encouragingly.
"Is this why it couldn't be held outside?" I ask.
"Yes, the aerie is a secret, so they can't be seen in the gardens." She explains.
"Alright, that makes sense. I'm ready whenever you are spy guy!" I say gesturing to the aerie member.
"I have a name you know." He says in an indescribable voice.
"Yup, but you probably won't tell me, so spy guy it is." I say matter of factly.
"Whatever you say, kid. Let's start your training, shall we?" He says, and I nod. My mother moves to the side of the room to observe.
'Hey Souei, make sure you pay attention, so you can train your battle energy as well.'
"Battle energy is something that's easy to pick up and hard to master. It's used to enhance and strengthen your body permanently and temporarily. The permanent enhancement will come with every rank you surpass. The temporary enhancement is when you specifically manipulate your battle energy to enhance all of, or just a portion of your body. You can also use your battle energy to enhance and strengthen objects. This is usually applied to weapons, and when it is being used the object or weapon will glow slightly." He says, and pulls out a small dagger. The dagger glows for a moment, and he puts it away again.
"People that use battle energy are called Fighters. Anybody can use battle energy to enhance the body, but true Fighters are warriors that practice martial arts. This is why I said battle energy is easy to learn and hard to master. If two Fighters of the same rank were to face off against each other the winner would be decided by who is more experienced in martial arts. I am a Fighter with a lot of experience in martial artist, and that is why your father chose me to be your teacher." He says.
"So, the majority of my training will be learning martial arts." I ask.
"Yes, manipulating battle energy will be easy for someone of your talent, so we won't have to spend much time on that." He said, and starts the lesson. He first showed me how and where to move my battle energy for optimal use. Then the martial art lesson started. I always liked the UFC back on earth, so learning martial arts is really interesting. At the end of the lesson, spy guy brings out a thick metal plate and tells me to hit it. I use my battle energy like I was taught, and punch the metal as hard as I can. The metal deforms and a deep imprint of my fist appears in the middle.
"Good, If you couldn't at least put a dent in it then I would've stopped teaching you." He says, and disappears.
