C64 Dungeon (3)

I like these riddles so here's another. Just remember to pay with your power stones. A woman shoots her husband. Then she holds him underwater for over 5 minutes. Finally, she hangs him. But 5 minutes later they both go out together and enjoy a wonderful dinner together. How can this be? Enjoy the chapter as always.)

After my first date in this new world, I went back to the dungeon. It's late but maybe I can get a floor done before bed. Teleporting to the stairs to the fifth floor, Rem, Nova, Souei, and I make our way down the dark stairway. As we made our way down, we are met with yet another labyrinth. It's far too dark to see, so I magic up some flames to light our way. As we traverse the halls of the maze, Souei leads the way as usual.

While traveling through the maze, we passed a few adventurers. The number of adventurers we run into seems to dwindle as we get lower in the dungeon. When we turn the next corner, what awaits us is a pack of dogs. These dogs are far bigger than any dog I'd ever seen, and there seemed to be more than ten of them. The pack didn't notice us at first, as they seemed to be fighting over some sort of carcass. They probably just hunted some other beast to satiate their hunger.

After a brief moment, the pack started to notice our arrival. They growled and snapped their teeth at us. Some even guarded the carcass protectively. I guess that other core beasts steal food from time to time. Seeing as I have no interest in some dirty animal meat, it's kind of pointless to guard it against me.

As we were walking up to the pack, some brave dogs came forward and pounced at us. Flaming swords appeared in my hands, and I struck out at the advancing dogs, cutting them completely in half. When the pack saw the death of their family, they went into a complete frenzy. They completely forgot about the food they had been guarding, and the whole pack rushed at us.

Before the pack could reach us, I summoned a few hundred fire arrows. They appear in front of us and shoot out down the maze corridor. With nowhere to hide or dodge, the only way a dog will survive is if they are shielded by a fellow pack member. The arrows tear through the hall and strike the pack as they are running right at us. The wolves upfront take the brunt of the attack, and the wolves in the back somehow survived. Whether that be by luck, or by using their fellow pack mates as shields. They survived and were even more pissed than before.

As they climbed over their dead packmates, I dashed forward with the flaming swords tightly gripped in my hands. With battle energy coursing through my body, I appear in front of the nearest dog and chop its head off. The other dogs surround me, and circle as the rest of my party sits back and watches. I asked them to let me handle this by myself, so I can't be mad at them. I engage one of the more impulsive dogs, as it jumps out at me. When the dog jumped out, the rest of the pack saw that as a means to attack my open back. Seeing this with my magic sense, I create a couple of clones while engaging the impulsive dog.

The clones appear behind me and summon the same swords of fire. They appear just in time, as the dogs are caught off guard. The clones swing out and the dog's skin sizzle as the sword rake against them. The dogs retreat back to the encirclement, as they cry out and whine like the injured dogs they are. The impulsive dog that initiated the attack on me got its head cut clean off. I took some pointers from the elders during the beast war and kicked the corpse of the dog at the circle of dogs. That seemed to anger them further, and they pounced at me all at once this time.

I summoned more clones to deal with the large number of beasts surrounding me, but then I remembered that whatever my clones kill won't transfer to me. It's a waste to have my clones kill these dogs because I won't get any XP. After remembering this, I sent some new orders to the clones. The clones disperse and each of them chooses a dog to fight. As the clones preoccupied the dogs, my plan was to sneak attack them while the dogs are occupied with the clones. My clones have been ordered to not kill the beasts, as I wouldn't get any benefit from it.

As my clones engaged the dogs, I waited for the perfect moments to strike. When the first moment came, one of the dogs was kicked through the air by one of my clones. Before the dog hit the ground, I appeared in its path and cut it in half. It's flesh sizzled and cooked as the sword bisected the dog in half. The rest of the fight was similar to that moment. I appear behind the dogs and kill them when they aren't expecting it. When all of the dogs were killed, a notification appeared.

After reading the notification, the dog's carcasses changed. They were skinned and harvested automatically by the system. That's such a handy thing the system does. If I didn't have auto looting, this would be far more annoying. I'm ashamed to admit it but I'm a hoarder, so having to loot everything manually would be irritating. Although I do have servants to do all the work if they had to, I wouldn't want to put them through that monotonous work.

"Alright, lets head back to the palace, as it's probably getting late. I have to go out with Ruby tomorrow, so I should probably get to bed soon."

As I mention my date with the younger princess, Rems expression turns grave as she starts glaring at the wall. Is she jealous of the princesses? I'm too tired to deal with this right now, so I'll talk to her after dealing with Ruby tomorrow.

We teleported back to the palace and I went straight to the bathes. I like ranking up, but the amount of blood and guts that gets on me is disgusting. As I enter the baths, I got undressed in the locker room type area and went straight into the bathing area. When I entered the doors of the bathing area, I'm met with a completely naked Aella. I didn't know what to do, so I just stood there shocked and admiring the view. Aella didn't notice me at first, but after a few moments, she turned and saw me standing there. Her face turned completely red and she covered her naughty bits.

'I'm starting to like the idea of this marriage contract more and more.'
