65 C61 Marriage Contract

"Syrin, these are my daughters Aella and Ruby." The beast king points to the only other two guests. "Aella is the eldest." He says and points at a woman with white hair that seemed to be around 20 years old. While her father has the standard orange fur with black stripes, the fur on Aella's ears and tail are white with black stripes.

"It's nice to meet you, Prince Syrin. I've heard a lot about you from Lily." Aella bows to me which gives me a good look at her cleavage. We both may be royalty, but I'm the next king, so that is why she's bowing to me.

"It's nice to meet you as well, Princess Aella." I respond and give her a slight nod.

"Ruby is the youngest." The beast king says and then points to the younger girl with hair and fur matching her fathers. She seems to be around my age as well.

"Hello, Prince Syrin. I've heard a lot about you from Lily too." She says as she stares at me with awe and slight fear.

"Hello, Princess Ruby." I give her a small nod as well.

After taking my seat, I look over at the king of the Bestia Kingdom.

"Why are you here?" I asked not caring for etiquette at the moment. I have spent the entire day fighting in a dungeon, so forgive me for not caring about etiquette at the moment.

"Hahaha, straight to the point are we?" The beast king laughs.

I can feel my mother and father giving me the look right now, but I truly just want to eat dinner and sleep right now.

"Better to be straight to the point than waste time beating around the bush." I say as I take a sip of water.

"True." The beast king nods. "I'm here to see the tournament that will take place soon." He explains.

"Half-truths are the best way to lie, aren't they?" I say and my parents start to get annoyed at my behavior.

"Sweetheart, I know he's not telling the whole truth, but try to be more understanding. Especially to the leader of a country that we have a good relationship with." My mother lectures me from across the table.

"Don't mind me. I'm so used to people kissing my ass, and your son treating me like a normal person is truly refreshing." The beast king intervenes.

"My mother is right though. Sorry for my behavior. I've had a long day, and I'm ready to get some sleep after eating some dinner." I say and return my attention back to the plate of food in front of me.

"As I said to your mother, don't worry about it. In fact, I am hiding something about my visit." He says drawing everyone's attention. "I guess now is a good of a time as any to explain. Henry, would you like to explain or should I?"

"What is he talking about, Honey?" My mother zones in on my father causing him to flinch slightly.

"Well, you see..." my father starts muttering something in incoherent whispers.

"Speak up!" My mother exclaims. It seems like she can that whatever he's trying to say is going to piss her off.

"Malik and I may have signed a contract saying that we would wed our children to one another." My father says as quickly as possible. It's like he was trying to rip off the bandaid.

"WHAT!!??" My mother screamed at the top of her lungs.

"I knew something like this would happen sooner or later." I mutter to myself.

Something like this happens in every story like this, but of course, this isn't a story, right? My mother has already stood up from her seat and is glaring daggers at my father.

"When did this happen!?" She asks.

"Before you were pregnant with Syrin, Malik and I got very drunk and had the contract made."

Every word my father spoke seemed to enrage my mother even further than she already was.

"If it was before Syrin was born then the contract shouldn't specifically mention him."

"No, the contract pretty much states that we will marry one of our children each to one another. When they are of age, of course. The contract was meant for Alexander at the time." Father explains.

"Since the little shit is dead, this sham of a contract falls on my baby!" She exclaims.

"I know that you're angry with me at the moment, but no matter Alexander's faults he was still my son. Please refrain from bad-mouthing him." Father says.

"*sigh* Fine, but I'm not happy about this. My son should be able to choose who he wishes to marry." My mother says as she takes her seat once again.

"Hahaha, this is why we have such a good relationship, Henry. You're not like those other stuck up royal families. Everyone else would have been happy to agree to marry my daughters. After all the Bestia Kingdom is one of the strongest country's on the continent, but your family only cares for the happiness of one another." The beast king laughs.

"Well, that's the way any family should be." I say.

"Yes, I've also come to this conclusion recently, and have seen the error in our contract." He says drawing everyone's attention. "Although, everything I've heard about young Syrin has caused me to see him as a perfect son in law."

"What are you trying to say, Malik?" My mother asks.

"Your husband and I have spoken before this and come to an agreement. The contract will stay active, but the terms have changed slightly. Syrin may marry one of my daughters, but both sides must agree wholeheartedly to the marriage." Malik explains.

"Which means if we don't want to marry each other, we don't have to, right?" Ruby asks.

"Exactly. Although, in order to encourage said marriage, you will spend time with both of my daughters. This way you can see if any of you are interested in one another." Malik says.

My mother calmed down extremely fast after learning of the changes to the contract. Father let out a relieved sigh, and the beast king chuckled slightly at my parent's antics.

"This is nice and all, but I'm exhausted right now. I agree to spend some time with your daughters, but I'm going to retire to the warmth of my bed now." I say and stand from my seat at the dining table. "Goodnight everyone. Aella and Ruby, I'll speak to you tomorrow." I wave over my shoulder as I leave the room.

As I made my way outside the room, I was met with an annoyed looking Rem.

"What's wrong, Rem?"

"Nothing, Master." Rem says in her normal superficial politeness, but I could feel that something is bothering her.

"Alright, If you say it's nothing then I'm sure it's nothing, but if you need anything just let me know."
