C52 Beast war (4)

As of this chapter, the patreòn is 10 chapter ahead at chapter 57. I'll probably be writing and posting some more chapters for patrons today. Also there are 3 chapters of the Naruto story on the patreòn as well.

POV Cavalry

One by one the cavalry made its way into the open gates of the fort. Behind each door are groups of soldiers, ready to slam the giant doors shut and lock them tightly when the time is right. As the cavalry filter into the fort, they let out a sigh of relief. They are finally safe. When the beasts got into range of the men and woman lining the fort walls, they all started opening fire upon the herd. The soldiers on the walls are trying their best to give the cavalry as much time as possible to get into the fort. The beasts once again get put through the grinder, as they try their hardest to get close to the cavalry and into the gate.

When the last cavalry member entered the gate, the groups behind the doors quickly pushed them closed. The second the doors were closed and locked, loud slamming and banging reverberated through the gate. Everyone in the fort let out a relieved sigh, as they closed the doors just in time. The mages of the cavalry climbed the high walls of the fort and offered their help in combatting the flood of beasts at the gate.

Below the wall was a river of beasts enraged at the loss of their pray. They rammed and rammed into the forts gate, as the soldiers on the walls slaughtered them from above. Small dents started to appear on the gate, and everyone knew that they had to speed up before the gates were destroyed.

POV Syrin

I'm getting kind of bored just sitting here and watching. The elders are winning and the herd at the entrance of the mountain pass is getting thinner and thinner. The giant lightning wolf is still dodging for its life somehow. I think it's time we go to deal with the leader of the herd.

'Souei, where is the ruler of the herd?'

'I have clones keeping watch of it now. It's to the west of here with the rest of its high-rank subordinates.'

'Hmm, let's go to them and finishes this before they join the battle.'

Souei makes everyone near me not pay attention, as I make a clone of myself to leave behind. Rem, Nova, and Anna can't make clones, so I'm leaving them here. Since we're winning this battle easily, they should be safe. Just to be sure I had Souei clones guard them. You can never be too careful.

After leaving the clone behind, Souei teleported me away. We appeared in a clearing where a heated conversation was being had.

"Your excellency, The subordinates are losing the battle. We need to go and join the fight now, or else our army will fall!" A giant bear with red fur pleaded.

"Yes, I agree. We can't afford to lose too many troops to the humans." A great oversized owl agreed with the bear. It gave off an air of wisdom and knowledge compared to the other beasts.

"If they're that puny and weak to die from those soft humans then they don't deserve our help." A giant black widow looking spider voices its opinion in a shrill voice.

"Hahaha, I agree!" A huge crocodile with large menacing teeth laughed.

They all looked towards a female Lamia for orders. She has the upper body of a beautiful human with whitish-blue skin, blue arms, white hair, glowing white/blue snake like eyes, and a blue gem on her chest. Her lower half is that of a snake with blue scales and a white underbelly. She stands their completely naked, and listening closely to her subordinates. She seemed torn between helping her subordinates or not.

"Wow, I've never seen a Lamia before." I say with a hint of wonder in my voice. My outburst draws the attention of all the beasts. "Are you the ruler of the herd?" I ask.

"How dare some weak human interfere in our meeting!" The giant spider yells in its annoyingly shrill voice. I put my hands on my ears to block the high pitches sound.

"Can you stop screaming? Your voice is extremely irritating." I say as my ears are already ringing. That just angers the eight-legged creature more, as its legs twitch and body quivers in anger.

"Why are you here, boy. You should leave if you don't wish to die." The owl says in a kind tone.

Before I could say anything the spider pounced at me. Eww, I hate spiders. Get it away. Get it away! As it was mid-air Souei appeared in front of it and kicked it away. The spider flys into the trees mowing down about ten of them before coming to a stop.

"*sigh* Thanks for that. Spiders creep me out." I say and shiver slightly.

"No problem, Master." Souei says as he appears next to me again. "Would you like me to exterminate the spider?" He asks.

"Not yet. I'd like to speak to the beasts first. Opportunities like this don't come every day after all." I say and turn my attention back to the Lamia. "Hey, are you the leader of the herd?" I ask again.

"Yesss..." She says but is cut off by the spiders shrill voice.

"I'LL KILL YOU!" The spider screams.

"Ssstella, sshut your mouth while I'm ssspeaking!" The Lamia said firmly.

"But Your Excellency these humans disrespected me. Did you not see that one kick me across the forest!" She says.

"Yes, but you attacked firssst. Now, be quiet and behave yoursself while I sspeak to the human." She sternly orders, but the spider only gets angrier.

"That's it! I can't take it anymore! First, you consider helping those weaklings, and now you wish to converse with humans!" She says and faces the Lamia.

"I agree! You've become too weak-minded. Ever since you gained that disgusting human half, you've been thinking like those weak-minded humans. WE ARE NOT HUMANS! Stop thinking as a human would!" The crocodile roars and forms up beside the spider.

"How dare you scum turn your backs on her excellency!" The bear roars back.

"I told you this would happen sooner or later, Your Excellency." The owl hooted. I never thought I'd hear an owl say 'I told you so'.

"Yesss, but I hoped you were wrong." The Lamia replied.

"Cool, this is a lot more interesting than I thought it would be." I exclaim as I watch the growing drama between the beasts. Souei nods in agreement next to me. "Hey, cute Lamia. Do you want us to take care of those annoyances for you?" I ask.

"Cute?" She tilts her head slightly in confusion.

"Yes, cute." I reiterate and she just stares at me.

"No, child. We can handle this ourselves." The owl answers.

"Yes, traitors need to be dealt with by those they've betrayed." The bear says and roars at the traitors.

"Alright, we'll be here waiting until you're done cleaning up the trash." I say and that angers the spider and crocodile even further. "Souei, can you get me a chair and a snack?" I say and he disappears and reappears with an armchair and some French fries. I've been teaching the cooks at the manor to cook some foods from earth. This is one of the newer recipes I've taught them. "This is far more interesting than the battle we were just watching." I say as I sit down and munch on my fries.
