11 C11 Meeting & Recruits

(A/N: sorry for the late chapter. My power went out because of a storm, so I'm staying at my cousins. It's hard to write without peace and quiet, and I had to help my half sisters mom with setting up a generator today. So that delayed me as well. I may do two chapters tomorrow as an apology for being late.)

After taking a seat, Gregory looks around the room anxiously. He was just teleported from wherever he was to the bedroom of the prince he's been supporting. I give him a minute to compose himself before starting.

"We both know each other, but why don't we do introductions anyway. I'm Syrin Fortis, nice to meet you." I say, casually.

"I'm Gregory Lindhall, it's an honor to make your acquaintance." He says, not nearly as casual as me.

"Alright, that's out of the way, let's cut to the chase. You've been doing very well lately, and I wanted for us to meet if you were to become the leader of my faction." I said.

"Thank you, Your Highness." He says. Looking happy that I recognized him, and scared that a six year old could know so much.

"I really liked how you poached members from my dear brothers faction. You should know that made them very angry." I informed, and Gregory looked worried. "Don't worry about it. I've had my people keeping guard incase of any assassination attempts are made against you." By 'my people' I mean Souei clones. Sooner or later they would send someone to kill Gregory, so I've been keeping an eye on the members of my faction. For now it's just Souei clones, but later on it will be the people Souei trained.

"No offense your highness, but are you really six years old?" Gregory asks.

"Maybe." I say cryptically. "But that's not important. I would like to offer you the chance to serve me. Your already working in my interests, so why not make it official?"

"I would be honored to serve, Your Highness." He says with an excited gleam in his eye. I guess teleporting him here was the right choice. Even a small show of power can help move things along. He gets down on one knee with his hand on his heart. "I ,Gregory Alfred Lindhall swear on my life and family name to serve the future king, Syrin Alistair Fortis." He says solemnly. That was smart, now if I don't become king he can ditch me. Though a smart servant is good, so I don't mind.

(A/N: not sure if I'll keep that middle name for Syrin. May change later idk.)

"A well thought out oath." I complement, as a knowing smile graces my lips.

"Just a precaution, Your Highness. I would be willing to gamble my life on you, but my family's lives are to precious." He explains with a worried look on his face.

"Don't worry, Gregory. Being cautious and having a backup plan is smart." I say.

"Thank you for understanding, Your Highness." He says earnestly.

"Now, it's getting late. Souei here will take you home." I motion toward Souei.

"Have a good evening, Your Highness." He bows and Souei teleports him home. As one Souei leaves another appears from my shadow.

"Make sure to keep an eye on him. He may have sworn an oath, but some people have no honor." I say, as I climb into bed for a good nights sleep.

POV Gregory

When I returned home, I down a glass of whiskey. That child is scary. It felt like I was talking to a grown man the entire time, and what did he mean by 'My people have been keeping guard of you'. I'm grateful for his protection, but he's definitely spying on me. I'm probably being watched right now. A chill runs down my spine as if confirming my assumption. The most important question is how did he gain a servant with such amazing power. He merely touched me and we were at the palace. That prince is scary, and shouldn't be taken lightly. I don't know if he has someone powerful backing him, but I need to tread lightly when dealing with him. At least I know I've been backing the right horse all this time.

POV Syrin

The next day after my normal routine, Souei gave me his first report on the order of assassins and spy's he's building. I should really come up with a name for it (A/N: Nudge nudge).

"Master, I've found some good candidates for the foundation of your order." He says, and hands me a stack of folders.

"Each folder is an orphan child that I found to be worthy of this opportunity. The first folder is a boy named Oliver." I open the folder and see a drawn picture of a small five year old boy. He has blonde hair, blue eyes, and a dirty face. "He is an orphan that lives on the street, but he has the making of a fine thief. The boy masterfully steals food to survive, and with training can be molded into a fine member of the order. He also has the attribute of darkness which isn't legendary, but it's still rare." He says.

"I already know the darkness attribute would help make a good assassin, but would a thieves skills translate well to what you'll be teaching?" I ask.

"Yes, a thief would work nicely. Next folder is a girl named Michelina." I open the next folder. This picture shows an eight year old girl with blond hair, brown eyes and freckles on her face. "This one is a bit special. She has the space affinity, but she doesn't know how to use her power." Souei says.

(A/N: this character is based off my cousin, so there is no way I'm gonna match her with the MC. Just a fair warning.)

"Wait, if she has the space affinity how has no one recruited her yet?" I ask.

"She never had her awakening ceremony, so no one knows. I only know because I can sense her attribute." He informed. We go through a few more folders, and when we were done I made a decision.

"Groom the first two to be leaders, Oliver and Michelina. The rest can still be recruited as well, but not for future leadership positions." I say.

"Yes, Master." He says.

"Alright, that's enough work for today. I'm going to bed."
