Partners in glasses
With so many things going on in life... I just didn't know anymore. However, the months went by quickly. I soon forgot Kenji, for I finally was strong enough to delete him off my social media. I'm glad he's happy, but deep down.. his happiness was killing me inside. THe endless pictures, the way he bragged about his new girl and everything. I just got annoyed and I wanted to heal... Thus, i finally made up my mind and what's done is done. Goodbye Kenji. Yet, even though it has been rough, I was always busy and all especially since my conversations and arguments with Jackson never seemed to end. That was one thing I knew for sure. Soon enough another festival occured in town to celebrate the seasons change. In Lillyvill, this meant we had the weekend off to enjoy the outdoor movies, fairground, the food etc and we dressed up in traditional clothing or make belief clothing in which we could be anyone or thing we wanted. Some of my friends were dressed up as Anime characters while others dressed up as food or items and so on. I decided to be a cute nerd cause I'm always studying anyways lol. I might as well. However, I wasnt allowed to go out and enjoy the fairgrounds and celebrate the holiday yet cause I had to wrap up some things for an assignment. Just as soon as I got dressed in my pretend costume and was finishing up my homework my laptop screen started to flash and buzz. Hmm? I thought. What is this? On the top of my screen it said,
*ring ring*
"Jackson wants to Skype you"
Now? I thought? Sure why not?
I was finishing up some stuff but answered. Both our camera turned on.
J: hello?
me: hey
J: can u see me? or Hear me?
Me: yes. I can.
J: good haha
I continued doing my work and didnt care to look at him.
J:... r u wearing glasses?
Me: yes
J: are they real?
me: no! it's for the festival. I'm a nerd. Haha I always study anyways so might as well.
J: really??? *he smiled*
Me: yeah.... why? What are you?
J:..... I'll show you. Just wait.
*Jacksons camera turned off for a moment. From my end, it sounded like he was rattling some stuff or like he was trying to find something.
Me: what are you doing ?
J: haha!!! r u ready?
Me:...sure?
J: BOOM! AWESOMENESS.
I looked at him and he had the same pair of glasses I had.
Me: of course it's awesome. you copied me duhh.
J: Did not. I was born before you! so, more like YOU copied me. hehe
Me: whatever! u didnt even know I had these until I put them on today.
J: doesnt matter... let's just say we're awesome. hahaha Twins? maybe.. or hmmmm
Me: or what?
J: Partners in glasses!! Haha!
Me: Partners in glasses?? haha. I was suppose to be a nerd
J: you can be both, but you're the nerd partner and I'm the sexy one.
Me: eww gross!!!
The conversation went on for a while until I finally wrapped up my assignments.
Me: hey, I gotta go help my family do some preparation for the festival then head to the festival myself either tonight or tomorrow. so I'm going to hang up.
J: Are you sure you're just not making an excuse?
Me: no I'm serious
J: okay that's ok then if you really have to go.
Me: yep, so I'll talk to you some other time.
J:.....
Me: *smiled.
Jackson was quiet.
A little confused, I said bye again and reached towards my laptop mouse to turn off the Skype. However, I was stopped by Jackson.
J: Hey... before you go
Me:?
J: Can I get your number?
A little hesitant, I wasnt sure why he wanted my number, but he is my coworker so I'll give it to him for work purposes.
Me: Ummm.... sure. I'll leave it in the chat when I go because it doesnt look like you have pens or pencil.
Jackson smiled.
Me: Bye!
J: Bye ! dont forget your number
Me: I won't.
I hung up then quickly typed my number on the chat.
