Max just stared at her.

It might seem like an exaggeration but right now, it felt like he was staring at the former Olivia, who was all compassionate and so full of emotions.

Once again, he blamed himself for what happened.

Emma was still so shocked until he spoke up, "come in." 

Emma let out a soft sigh. "What happened?" She asked again.

"Come in first." He said and moved aside.

She recalled how she planned to act composed.

Not act composed, but actually shouldn't care about it too much.

She mentally battled her thoughts as she walked in and took her seat.

Max was used to pain, so it was bearable even though it still hurts like hell.

He also sat beside her, but left a decent space in between.

Emma was silent.

If she asked again, it would appear that she was eager.
