46 The enemies' plan

-Royal Elites dormitory-

"Lu Jing, that's my final offer," Fu Kuan, the so-called leader of the Royal Elites fixated his eyes on the man in front of him. He was tapping the surface of a table rhythmically. His legs were slightly apart with his back leaning against the chair; emanating a domineering aura. A single glance and one could see the evil glint in his eyes.

"I don't care about your offer. What I want is her head on the platter," Lu Jing who sat across the man let out a smirk. In his mind was images of him torturing his enemy to death.

Fu Kuan released a rumble of laughter after knowing what Lu Jing was thinking about. It wasn't pleasant to hear for one could tell the malicious intent wrapped in it.

"That's the equivalent punishment for what she had done," He said.

Those spoken words caught Li Jing's attention for it seemed that there was a hidden meaning to it.

"Fu Kuan, what kind of vengeance do you seek from her?" Lu Jing was asking out of curiosity. He had a vivid goal and greedy desire in his mind that made him willing to fight to the death, but, to the man who was known as the untouchable king in Z Royal School, he wondered what motivated him to make a move on her.

Fu Kuan scoffed at Lu Jing's question. His pointed eyes were staring at him with boredom. After a moment of silence, he lazily answered his question, "I have the same reason as yours. All I want is for her to 'disappear' and everything will naturally fall into my hand." Fu Kuan let out a peal of chilling laughter and those lazy eyes of him turned to a malevolent glare.

"Same reason? What do you mean?" Lu Jing couldn't help but retort. The matter about the Successor Selection wasn't revealed to the general public and the Lu's Community were forbidden to openly discussed over the matter. He wondered if Fu Kuan really knew of his current situation.

"Certain things require no explanation. Simply knowing that we both aiming for the same thing is enough," Fu Kuan avoided the question on purpose. But his eyes were spitting all the answers that Lu Jing was seeking for.

Surely, Lu Jing had seen the murderous intent flashed in Fu Kuan's eyes earlier and couldn't stop himself from trembling a little. He reminded himself not to offend the man unless he was fully prepared or else his head might as well entered the man's special collection.

"I've issued the challenge and I want you to entice people to hate her more. If she isn't as simple as you said, we need to have enough trump card to win against her," Fu Kuan clenched his fist while his mouth crooked to a downward smile.

"Consider it done," Lu Jing said after several repetitive breaths that helped calm his mind. "Hmm, I'm curious to what kind of battle will you propose?" He asked.

"Hunting," Fu Kuan answered nonchalantly.

"Hunting?" Lu Jing was surprised. He never heard someone used hunting as the topic of the challenge. All that had been done so far was battle of knowledge and skills. He voiced out his curiosity and was quite surprised to hear his answer.

"Paintball wars," a crooked smile appeared on Fu Kuan's face upon saying the specific name of the challenge he had chosen. He gave a copy of his proposal to Lu Jing. There was an approved stamp on the cover page indicating that the proposal had been approved by the school administrators.

Lu Jing glance through the proposal and his eyes widened when he read the words written on the papers given to him. The corner of his lips curved upward: a mismatched to his stoic face. From what he read, Fu Kuan had proposed that paintball wars could test one's alertness and instinct; a bonus if one was aiming to be born a leader.

However, for someone who could take its hidden meaning, that explanation was a warning that if one was lacked in knowledge and skills required to play the game, death would be the one waiting for him or her.

"You're as malicious as ever," Lu Jing 'complimented' the man who was also grinning from eye to eye. Then, he realized that the paintball war was always played as a team but the proposal had suggested a one-to-one challenge. He expressed his concerned but was more awed by Fu Kuan's intricate explanation.

"Play as a team but winning is determined by the last man standing kind of format. I want to enjoy every moment of torturing her," Fu Kuan explained. Lu Jing shallowed his bitter saliva. This man in front of him was dangerous.

However, knowing that, Lu Jing couldn't imagine the disaster that would fell upon their enemy during the challenge. He couldn't help but took a guess that one of the bullets might be replaced with the real one. He shuddered at the thought of it.
